Belnord Hotel

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Belnord, the check in and out was done in seconds. My girlfriend and I had a room with private bath which was very comfortable for two people. The bed was large and comfortable and the bedding was changed daily, as were the towels in the bathroom. the bathroom itself had a shower, basin and W/C and the size was more than adequate. I stayed at the Belnord twice before and this was my third stay. The hotel is excellent for the price. The rooms are small but very clean. I never had a problem with bugs or roaches. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I read some reviews stating that there are college students living there. Upon check in, I asked if this was true because I was afraid it would be noisy. This hotel is a JOKE!!! I wouldnt even advise my worst enemy to come and stay here, thats how bad it is. We came to the hotel at 11pm on a Friday night, exhausted after a 9 hour journey, and wanted to check in. So the man asked us to fill out all the paperwork (room was already paid for as booked online) and was hoping to get to our room next. But oh no, after this, the man who works there tells us there is a flood in our room so we cant stay there, so he says we can either get a room with a shared bathroom, or he can send us to another... more

We stayed here for a week last year, and we found the hotel very pleasant. It is an inexpensive hotel with few amenities, but it does what it does very well. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. There was more than enough closet space and a refrigerator. While the bathrooms were shared, they were always very clean, and were unoccupied all but once in the entire week. as mentioned is the other reviews, generally its ok for the price, but no free meals: small rooms no elevator somewhat of a maze on the other hand - a good location in a quiet area, near the park and the museum.

When I was at The Belnord it seemed adequate, even though we had no storage space. However, I got home a few days ago and am covered in bed bug bites from head to toe. Do not stay here unless you like bed bugs!!

My new wife and I were travelling the States for 2 months for our honeymoon and were after a cheap hotel in Manhatten for 5 nights. We had a standard room, and weren't expecting too much. To our great surprise, though not huge, the room had a tv, fridge and tallboy, and had a nice, clean bathroom attached. Great location, close to subway and a fantastic place to crash after long days siteseeing of this amazing city. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Belnord Nov 2004. Very clean. Helpful staff. One minute walk to subway. Small rooms but sufficient for the budget minded traveller. Close to many restaurants. Minutes from beautiful area of Central Park. Recommended!

I stayed there during September 2004. Forget about an Elevator or a bell boy. You have to carry your own luggage up the stairs. The rooms are very small. It's the size of a dorm room. Everything is cramped together. Some students do dorm there. It's great if you're not planning to spend much time there. It's very clean, and not once did we have to wait for a restroom. We've just got back from a six-night stay in NY and stayed at the Belnord. It's in the most perfect location - right near a subway that takes you to all the main attractions in minutes and has some good shops and places to eat nearby (try the Hot and Crusty Deli - it has the best coffee and cheesecakes!) The hotel itself was a bit fusty - we stayed in a room that was tiny but had a tv with good channels and the maid made the bed and gave us fresh towels everyday. We didn't see one cockroach (we were on the second floor) and no bedbug bites... more
