Tryp Munich Hotel Reviews
" The Tryp Hotel is outstanding. Not... "
Submitted By: Mr G George
The Tryp Hotel is outstanding. Not only are the rooms warm, comfortable, and stylishly decorated, they come at a VERY reasonable price. The hotel was completely remodelled in 2001, but all of the furnishings and amenities seem like they were only installed yesterday. The location is also a big plus.
If you stay at the Tryp Hotel, you're only a block away from the Theriesienwiese U-Bahn stop, and about five blocks from the Hauptbanhof (Munich Central Station). Also, it should be noted that the complementary breakfast at the Tryp Hotel is better than what you'll find in most five-star restaurants in the U.S. (or anywhere else for that matter). The upshot is, on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being the paragon of hotels), the Tryp Hotel of Munich is an 11.

We stayed in a standard room which was adequate for our time there. The room included a double bed (which was two singles pushed together), a comfort seat, small table, writing desk, wardrobe and coat stand, minibar and TV (the channels available are in German but you can pay per day for access to a English movie channel).
The bathroom was well equipped with bath, over bath shower, sink, toilet and hairdryer. Soap and shower/hair cream are available with extras available from reception should you forget your toothbrush.
The room was maintained each day and was clean when we arrived. The bathroom could do with a little tlc to remove stains from the grout, but this is a minor issue.
There are also business and comfort rooms available which have a few more facilities, and include a kettle with tea and coffee.
The hotel has a small bar, a restaurant, conference rooms and some leisure facilities e.g. a sauna. We did not use these facilities and as we were room only chose to eat outside of the hotel, as the breakfast was 13 euro per person and there are plenty of small bakeries and cafes on the door step of the hotel.
Our none smoking room was on the third floor with a street view, which could often be a little noisy due to the traffic, despite the double glazing. The only issue we encountered which reduced our pleasurable stay in Munich was the noisy cleaning staff who begin around 7.30am and seem to enjoy clashing their trolleys up and down outside your room!
The hotel is listed as a four star but we would say it is more like a three star. The hotel is a good all rounder for a short break due to the reasonable costs and location and it is probably most suited to individuals and couples but not so much for families.
