Days Inn Key West

This motel may be the least expensive on Key West, which means prices that may still seem outrageous until compared with anyplace else on the island. For the low price, you get a basic motel room -- beds, air conditioning, TV, bathroom -- and you know going in that the motel is at the other end of the island from the attractions of Old Town. On a whim, I and my girlfriend decide to go to Key West. We arrived into Key West late at night and very tired. Since it was a choice of sleeping in the street or here, we decide to stay at the Days Inn for $270 a night, OUCH! We booked only one night in hopes of finding better the next morning. The room was not bad, but not worth $270 a night. It was reasonably clean, beds were ok, had some room to put our stuff, and the staff didn’t want us dead. James is the night supervisor, and not only is he rude.. but the day manager is as well. Try complaining to corporate office, you get no where.. it is a terrible place if you are looking for customer service. That you will not get, your better off staying at the salvation army.. you would get better treatment. I will never stay at another Days Inn just because of the whole incident I had with this one in Key West...... Just because you book a room over the phone.. or on the net, means nothing. I found the check in clerk to be extremley rude to me. James stated that I needed a voucher to hold my room even though I hade made a reservation on the phone and had a conformation number. He rudly waved the voucher in my face to display the doucument, which he said was required to have a room. He treated me like I was an idiot because I had no knowledge of such doucument prior to checking in. I would not stay at any Days Inn again after being treated with such disrespect. On Feb 11 2006, i had a room booked for that particular night. I had booked this room back in June of 05. Ok here is my story. On the 11th, after driving for 3.5 hours, we arrived at Days Inn. We were met by a very rude guy who worked the front desk. They informed me that my room had been cancelled due to the fact that our credit card wouldn't go through. My husband and I, along with his parents, returned from a seven day Caribbean cruise with Princess on Sat. 2/11. We were vacationing for a total of 14 days spending some time in Ft. Another hotel that was above our expectations-due to previous reviews. Had a minor problem checking due to problems caused by the Hurricane in October that had caused severe water damage to the Key's-(the hurricane did not actually hit the Keys but the storm surge did). Our experience at the Days Inn was a good one. FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST! Nice outdoor pool. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Relative to other hotels we looked at this offerred excellent accommodations for a signficantly lower rate. Use your AAA card to get a discount! Granted it is on the east side of the island and furthest from downtown activities but there are shuttle buses that run from the hotel to downtown. By car you're only about 8 min. from downtown. You cant beat it! Its a great place to drop your stuff and hit Duval for a day & night of parting!! When you get back, you have a great comfy bed and shower....Done

I just returned from the Dayss Inn. Like the last reviewer, I was hesitant to book after reading the old reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is not near Duval Street or Mallory Square but you can always take the $8 shuttle around the entire island (one price to ride all day) or rent a bike/mpoed. Taxis are also an option but they are expensive. There's a Waffle House conveniently attached to the main office. Other restaurants are in walking distance also.
