cant except castilla as a four star food was allright but not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel we stayed in castilla because we could not get in don pancho which is also a 4 star but there is a vast difference in food , and the quality of food the castilla food was very dissapointing the staff were pleasant the hotel was very clean but europa ave which the castila runs off is sometimes very noisy with police cars and ambulances i felt the resturant in castilla was very short staffed and the food really let it down if you are a vegetairian dont bother i would not go to castilla again because it just was not good enough for a 4 star and i felt really let down

  • Advice: go bed and breakfast so you wont get fed up of eating there food

I have travelled to Benidorm 4 times in the past 6 years and have stayed all over the resort, the Castilla is a fiarly small hotel but is perfect for couple old or young looking for a relaxing holiday in a well maintained pleasent environment. Me and my partner had origionally booked to stay at The Magic Rock Hotel which is an all inclusive hotel near the seafront, we asked to move as the magic rock was an appalling hotel which i would definatly not recommend. Upon moving to the castila we were pleased with the decor and the room was a good size, the swimming pool is only small but unless you plan on swimming lengths all holiday its not a problem we were at the pool almost everyday and never struggled to find a sun bed.
The hotel is a 2 minute walk from a great chicken restaurant called pollo where we ate a number of times for lunch and ate in the hotel for breakfast and dinner, we found the resturant staff friendly and helpfull for our entire holiday being welcomed every time we came in with a smile.
The food in the hotel is the best we have exerienced in the hotels on resort.
The Benidorm town is also only a 5 minute walk as is the seafront and the main road the hotel sits on has a bus which taked you to terra mitica and terra natura which i would also recommend for a day out to each.
At night we spent a number of our evenings in local bars especilly a bar called STARDUST where they have comedy acts, i recommend Tony Scott so long as you are not easily offened he is easily the best comedy act ive seen there, we enjoyed a night out at the Benidorm Palace it was about £30 and included a show, dancing, dinner, wine and a bottle of champaine.
We went into th english part of the resort only once as there is a number f clubs and bars that were not really to our taste, if you enjoy clubbing and dance music youd probably love bars such as chaplins and sinatras.
We are returning to sta in benidorm and at the Castilla for the 2nd year in a row this summer and will most likely come back again...

  • Advice: Benidorm is a fantastic resort catering for all ages, families and eating habits. We have been 4 times
  • Activities: Terra Natura, Terra Mitica, Benidorm Palace, water sports, bars, clubs, comedy
  • Good For: Beach

This is a very nice and pleasant hotel very clean, good choice of food, friendly staff and in a good location with no kids.
I would recommend this hotel to all who don't have kids with them as it makes a great difference to the holiday, especially when you have had your time having the kids at your side for years and they have all grown up now.
It's very peaceful but just 5 mins away there is plenty to do.
Thomson were our tour operators and very good operation, flights both to and from Benidorm half an hour early.
Would definitely go back to Castilla.

The Hotel Castilla was beautiful...

Apr 2007, Mrs L Tracy

The Hotel Castilla was beautiful inside and out.
The staff was very friendly especially the restaurant staff who took a shine to my daughter.
Although the brochure said it was a family hotel, I beg to differ.
Through our 2 week break we met only 5 families with children. This in itself was a problem but only by the pool.
Like any child, they like to swim and splash and shout. My son accidentally splashed an old lady sunbathing close to the pool. In fact her sun longer was so close she may as well have been in the pool.
She complained non stop about everyone’s children as did a few of the older holiday makers. One of the parents went inside to complain about being ordered to take the children out of the pool; our rep said there was nothing to say our children couldn’t play.
This was the only problem all through the holiday.
Luckily my parents were staying in the hotel next door and the pool was thriving with swimmers from every generation, young and old.

My husband and I plus another couple...

Sep 2006, Mrs L S James

My husband and I plus another couple stayed at the Castila hotel in March 2006 and had had a wonderful time. The food was second to none as was the service provided by the hotel staff, from the cleaners to the manager. Entertainment was almost non existent but there is so much to do in Benidorm it wasn't a problem. I would definitely stay at this wonderful hotel again although I don't know what it is like during the summer season as the pool was small and I think there may be a shortage of sun loungers, but for an early break it was great and all of the guest at that time were adults although they do accommodate children I don't think there is much for them to do.

Feb 2006, Mr J Blake

Just had a two week holiday at the Castilla Hotel Benidorm, a superb hotel with great accommodation, pleasant staff making for a very friendly feel to the hotel. I give it a rating of nine as the only downside to the holiday was the entertainment, the only people catered for were the dancers as it was dancing in one form or another for 5 nights a week.
If food is one of the important things during your holiday then the Castilla is the place for you, superb food. We will be returning.
J.Blake.

Beautiful hotel situated in a quite...

Beautiful hotel situated in a quite area of Levante, stylish rooms with everything you could want for. The pool area is well maintained and there were plenty of sunbeds even on the busiest of days.
It is a four star hotel in every area apart from the food which is the most basic I have ever seen, the best it got was a few king prawns and mussels, the queues were long as often the dishes were left empty and the pudding was mostly hot rice! If you eat out a lot but want a well maintained hotel then this is the place for you.

The Castilla has now been upgraded...
8 / 10
Sep 2005, Mr R. Denny

The Castilla has now been upgraded to a 4 star hotel. It is situated in a quiet street within easy walking distance down the Yellow Brick Road (really a path) approx 10mins to the Levante beach. The hotel is very clean and the bedrooms have a hairdryer and also a fridge. (f.o.c.)
The food was varied and well cooked. The staff were very helpful especially in the Reception. Sunbeds could not be claimed until 9.00 a.m. so everyone had the same chance. There are many bars in the immediate area.

Jun 2004, Miss Mortimer & Corrigan

This was our second stay in the Castilla, hotel is fantastic, immaculate public areas, bedrooms cleaned every day and clean towels, sheets provided.
Hotel about a 10 minute stroll from main square and pubs/clubs, within walking distance but once you are back in hotel with door shut its just so peaceful!. Pool area clean although people did tend to put towels out very early in morning but as Benidorm has fantastic beaches, who needs the hotel pool?
Food amazing, so much to choose from and nicely presented also. Staff very friendly and efficient in reception and dining room areas. Would recommend the Castilla to anyone looking for a good hotel with good food and within walking distance of nightlife.
