Servigroup Calypso Hotel

myself husband and friends are arriving at the beginning of oct, been a few times and its a beautifull hotel would recomend it to anyone,

We have been going to the Calypso for the past 5 years.
Its a lovely friendly hotel.The food is really good with an excellent choice.
We always request the Anexe and the staff have always given us what we have asked.They try to please their customers.
We are going back in June for tweo weeks.There is a lot of return guests so that tells you something.

just got back from this great hotel,rooms small and bathrooms really tiny,we asked for a room change and got one the next day,i clocked room 309 just emptied so i asked for it was told by reception that room is taken so i told them it was empty in the end i got this room.i found 2 reception staff very rude and not very helpfull but if you exclude them2 people everyone else was very nice and always polite.food was excellent,rooms clean,bar area was very smart,location spot on, would book again and highly recommend,been goin to benidorm since 1970 but this is the one for best food.if they got rid of reception individuals this would then be perfect,enjoy future holiday makers.

there is no wheel chair access to the rooms my husband cant walk as he as only one leg and is in wheel chair permantly and the wheelchair would not go threw the bedroom door or the bathroom door the only wheel chair access was the toilet next to the restaurant ,2lifts were alright and getting into the hotel ,other than that everything else was alright.

Had a wonderful 8 days. Could not fault this hotel. My only gripe was I booked a room over looking the swimming pool which was a mistake. I should have booked a room on the roadside as that was the sunny side. When I go next time that is what I will do.

we have stayed at this hotel for the last three years and hope to go again september 2009 cannot fault this hotel food rooms staff and everthing lovely last year there had been renovations to the dining room[the dining room staff are loverly and remembered us from the previous years which was a nice touch] we would recommend this hotel.

The Calypso Hotel was closed has undergone a complete refurb at the start of 2008 and it has been a huge improvement and is part of the Sevigroup on of the best chains in Spain.
The rooms now have a new air con system,fridge, and 22'flat screen televisions with English channels. Some of the rooms are in the front of the hoteland can be noisey,the rooms in the annex are slighty larger. The dinningroom has also improved with a brand new buffet counter.The service in the here is really first class with tables being cleared instantly and no waiting for tables.The food is also very good with lots of choice and warm, the is also show cooking,and a huge salad bar.
The location of the hotel cannot be faulted with a 6 minute walk to the beach,10 minute walk to the large Sunday and Wednesday market,and a 5 minutewalk to the main entertainment street,the oldtown is a half hourwalk or the localbus stopis also handy.
The entertainment in the hotel itself is geared towards the older guest, but all hotel entertainment in Benidorm is usually poor as they cannot compete with what is on offer around the bars in the resort.
The only downside of this hotel that it is not really geared towards kids with no kids clubs or entertainers. Would I recommend it YES would I return YES.

i think that this hotel is one of the nicest in benidorm. the rooms and the hotel in general are very clean. the food and dining room is exelent and the staff are very polite i will defonatly be returing.

We booked a holiday in this hotel in June of this year 2006, for 17th October only to have this cancelled 2 days before we were due to fly because they said the hotel had been overbooked!
We had tried to cancel the holiday ourselves 4 weeks previously due to the death of my father but was told that we would only receive 10per cent refund.
Now has the hotel overbooked or is Airtours resold our reservations for a higher price? We would not consider this hotel again or Airtours incase this happens again! Beware!

This hotel is good but is let down by a poor dining room. The rooms are neat and well kept but smaller than usual for Benidorm. The public rooms are also clean and tidy with helpful staff in all areas. However this hotel is only on a full board basis and it does get boring.
The buffet in the dining room is small and cramped and is not self service except at breakfast. This leads to a wait to get in the dinning room at busy times. The choice when you do get in although good for both salads and sweets is poor for the hot food. The tables are also set close together will little room between them with the food not always as warm as it should be.
If you get a first floor room at the front of the hotel facing the outdoor waterfall bring plenty of mossie repellent as several people in these rooms report a number of bites. Would I recommend this hotel? YES but only when they update the dining room.
