We stayed at Miramar Wonderland in June of 2007 in a waterfront room. It was absolutely beautiful and quiet. Very nice shower and comfortable beds. The best part of Ixia though was Le Gourmet Restaurant. It was the best food that we had in our two weeks traveling in Greece!! A husband and wife that met in restaurant school 30 years ago own the restaurant. The husband is the chef and the wife the waitress. The first night we went there we met and Englishman and his daughter who told us to just tell the wife what kinds of food and wine we liked and let her choose and bring the food and wine out to us. So, we decided to go out on a limb and try it. It was unbelievable!! She brought out course after course of unbelievable food and wine. This was one of our best dining experiences ever! We went back two nights in a row. It's been almost a year since we dined there and my boyfriend and I have both been dreaming of Le Gourmet and are planning a trip back soon!

Fantastic holiday!
The staff where very friendly and the reception staff where very helpful.
The food was excellent and there was a wide variety of food to choose, although you may want to try one of the local restaurants.
The pool area is very well kept and there is plenty of room.
The rooms were very clean and tidied every day.
Overall this was a very enjoyable holiday and I will definitely revisit this hotel when I come back to Rhodes.

We had a beachfront suite which was fantastic, right on the beach, Jacuzzi in bathroom, plenty of space. The gardens have a wonderful scent particularly in the evenings and a small train will carry you around the hotel grounds which are quite large.
The saltwater pool is gorgeous with views of the coast of Turkey, I could have floated there all day! We didn't use it but apparently the pool bar is quite expensive. The gym is small but adequate and well air conditioned. Two restaurants are available on site, we had breakfast ( a huge buffet with every breakfast food you could think of) in Olyo which has tables on decking over lagoons overlooking the sea. We also tried the Gulliver Restaurant which has the most delicious pasta and pizzas and overlooks the pool.
All the grounds are subtly lit creating a lovely atmosphere in the evenings. The service is extremely professional and discrete, but warm and friendly also. I would especially recommend this hotel to people with children as the staff are great with kids and a mini club and children's pool/playground are available.
If I had to make one criticism it would be that the room air conditioning is not great and switches off while you are out leaving the room very hot when you return, the wonderful sea breeze in Ixia makes up for that however.
I'd recommend the "le Gourmet" restaurant in Ixia, up a side street opposite the old Miramare reception for freshly cooked food and personal service. If you like a bit of history then the old town and Kamiros are also well worth a visit.
Miramare is ideal for couples, families or friends who just want to take it easy and relax, once inside the hotel grounds you feel very cocooned from the outside world, an ideal base for sightseeing and topping up your tan, not the place if you want excitement though.
