Relaxing and chilled out Holiday with lovely friendly people
from Murfins
We have just got back from a week at the Aquis Miramare and I have to say it was one of the best Holidays we have had, we will definatley be going back there one day. The staff are really friendly and cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble and the hotel had a very warm friendly feeling about it, very layed back and we met lots of lovely people. The rooms were really clean and the food excellent with a good choose of different foods each day. The pool area has to be the feature of this hotel and is lovely to chill around everyday. We took our 10 year old boy with us and there were a few children his age so he was never bored in the day. The hotel is situated on the west side of the island so there is a lovely breeze, it's around 15mins into Rhodes town which is well worth a visit. Book it........you will not be disapointed!!!
Beautiful resort with stunning views and pool area.
from NorthShoregirlLondon
Travelled round Rhodes a bit and am confident we chose the best hotel on the island for views, layout, design and location. As far as I can tell, all the rooms were suites. We were in a cottage with terrace and sea views and that seemed to be the norm for every accomodation. Lovely decor, beautiful mature gardens, perfect views over the Turkish coastline and Symi, fantastic pool area - shade if you wanted it and sun if you wanted it. The hotel was on the sea - only a small stretch of shingle between the property and the sea. Sea water was lovely and clear. Food in the restaurant was ample and there was a wide variety. Would have preferred more greek options but what we ate was well prepared and delicious. The restaurant was in a stunning position surrounded by pools and overlooking the sea. Would definitely go back.
No complaints here, we had a great time!!

We have returned from a really relaxing holiday at the Aquis Miramare Wonderland. We booked through icelolly.com and travelled three days later. Booking was really easy and email confirmation received within hours. We landed an hour late in the early hours of Sunday Morning and after easily finding our transfer coach we did the usual and crossed our fingers that we had made the right choice. We arrived at Miramare 0600. (Don't bother booking a transfer - get a cab - less hassle and much cheaper) We were greeted by a cheerful chap, Manos, the night receptionist, who explained that the hotel does not use wristbands as other A.I. hotels do, they use a card which you show at meal times and at the bar. Bonus! no white stripe sun tan line! We were shown to our room by the porter, who transferred our bags silently past all the other 'bungalows' and through the well kept grounds. There was a meal each waiting for us in the room, and a bottle of white wine. They were very welcome, if a little warm by the time we arrived. (Flight delay...). (Rebecca - get them in the fridge - and the wine, leave a note on the table...or have Manos tell people that the food's there). Point being - someone had thought about it, and we were very hungry, so it was welcome. The apartment was very spacious which included a kitchette with two electric hobs but no kettle, which wasn't really a problem even though we drink A LOT of tea. The lounge area had a pull out sofa-bed, a day-bed, a 14 inch telly and doors that led out onto the balcony which had fantastic views out over a grassed area, the pool and the sea. The bathroom was a good size with a large well lit mirror, a bath and a powerful shower. We were provided with large soft bath and serparate beach towels which could be changed daily if required. The cleaners came everyday to empty the toilet bin, change the bedding and clean round the rooms. The bedroom had two single beds pushed together and although they were a little hard it did not detract from a good nights sleep. The room had plenty of storage space with ample coathangers provided and it even had a hairdryer. The food was of a high standard with plenty of variety on a daily basis. Except on a Friday evening: FISH. (Admittedly many derivatives of fish). The breakfast buffet consisted of continental, English, pancakes, cereals and fruit options. The evening meal had a variety of traditional Greek dishes, meat, fish and vegetarian choices there was also a impressive array of deserts every night. We thought the food was excellent. The wine on the A.I. was local and perfectly palletable. Watered down? I think not! One little gripe about meals - during busy times there seemed to be a shortage of both staff and cutlery. However both the maitre d' and the waiters worked their backsides off to provide a high qualtiy service. TOP TIP: Learn some Greek, even if it is just 'please' and 'thank you'...it goes a long way! We were very well looked after. The Food & Beverage Manager, Yiannis, ran a tight ship and managed his staff well. His English is excellent and he is personable but very professional. Rebecca, the Customer Relations Manager was extremely helpful at all times even when she had 'clocked off' for the the evening. All of the staff are a credit to the Aquis team, both customer facing and behind the scenes. Location - If you feel the need to leave your sunbed and go exploring there is a bus stop just outside the reception and the buses run regularly into Rhodes Town which is approximately a 10 minute air conditioned journey. From there you can get a bus anywhere around the island. TOP TIP #2: You can catch any bus EXCEPT the 40 back to the Miramare. The infinity pool is brilliant however you do need to get up early to get one of the better sunbeds but this is being addressed by the Aquis management. The animation team provided light entertainment, darts, Boules, water aerobics and the hilarious water polo. When we were there and there was very little wind there was a small shingle beach but as soon as the wind picks up it disappears. It is not far to walk down the road (approx 5mins) to a better beach. We had a really great holiday, met some lovely people, both guests and staff. We will certainly return. This was our first all inclusive holiday and it has set a very high standard, and i'm a picky bugger. TOP TIP #3: Go and make your own mind up. Andy + Rachael

The Miramare is described as a five star hotel. It is anything but. Do not go to the Miramare expecting luxury, glamour or anything above a three star. On the night we arrived we had missed dinner. The hotel left a plated 'salad' in our room for us. A nice gesture but not when it consists of pieces of fish that have sat in a warm room for hours.... you can imagine the smell. The room looked dirty. the bath was not clean, the sillicone around the edge mouldy and the tiles grubby. The bed sheets were fresh on but stained. On phoning to complain I was told that the manager would be in the following morning and would contact us. This did not happen. We went to reception to complain about the state of the room and the lack of sea view ... you could see the sea if you had a periscope! The receptionist told us that the room we were in had already been upgraded (without our knowledge) but said the manager would contact us and show us another room. Again this did not happen. We decided to give up complaining and just try to enjoy the week away. The (saltwater) pool is lovely, really big and really deep in places. Nice sunbeds (you wont get on one unless you get up and reserve it with your towel at 7 am (as most people seemed to do). The private beach is in fact the sea. The hotel is on the seafront - really nice bay and lovely clear water but no where to sit. If you fancy a swim in the sea you have to climb down some rocks (slippery). The food was average - cheap tough cuts of meat and some fish - generally in batter. Kitchen staff very helpful and try to explain what each dish is. Waiting staff are terrible. Service incedibly slow - if they even offer you a drink at all. When the drinks arrive all beer and wine is so watered down you can not tell what is is. When staff were challenged about this they just laughed and apologised. At the bar the one barman they have is very polite and tries his best but he looks like he is about to explode and is rushed off his feet. I would recommend going all inclusive though because even those guests that were paying for their drinks had watered down wine. On the second to last day we managed to speak to the general manager. He was very apologetic and offered us another room. Not much point on the last day but a nice gesture all the same. When we got back to the room later that night they had left us a bottle of cava to apologise and we were allowed to keep our room until 18:00 on the last day instead of 12:00 hours when we should have checked out. Again this was a nice gesture. This hotel is fine for what it is but I would certainly say it was a three star not five. The drive to the airport is only about ten minutes. You will need to leave in plenty of time for the return journey though because the airport is a shambles. We nearly missed our flight because the tannoy does not work and the screens with the departure gates etc are faulty.
Deluxe hotel with amazing food

travelled on 16th june 2010 for a week with first choice premier from newcastle. . got there early hours and was greeted with a lovely cold buffet in the room. We booked a seaview suite which was very nice with 2 air con units and a lovely comfortable bed. the food in the hotel was amazing -actually better than the greek resteraunts in rhodes old town. the lamb was to die for. george was great at the poolside bar and made the best cocktails in rhodes. would reccoment this hotel to anybody who loves comfort . food and being well looked after
mellow, relaxing and friendly - a stress busting holiday experience
from RiaandJohn
This resort is an oasis of calm, peace and tranquility. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever met on holiday. The pool area is amazing with a great bar and taverna and plenty of sunbeds, and it's location close to the water's edge ensures the sea breezes keep you cool. The food at this hotel is delicious and very greek, we were all-inclusive and found that there was plenty of variety and the quality was excellent. The location of the restaurant overlooking the lagoon and sea made every meal a wonderful event. The only critisism we had about the resort was the disappointing decor in the room - we had a suite that had not been refurbished and although the beds were comfortable the lounge area and bathroom was quite basic and looked nothing like the pictures on the hotel website. However, this would not stop us returning to the Miramare and recommending it to our friends.
This place is truly a wonderland in ixia
from theelfs
from the greeting on arrival to our departure day we cannot fault this wonderland . The rooms are spacious with a living area decorated in calming colours and having that lovely, quirky, greeky feel too . Although only one restaraunt it gave us a sense of belonging and we soon became familiar with all waiter/waitresses and the kitchen staff .Kristina was great !! explaining all the greek specialities with a smile . Take your camera to your table as you get a terrific view of the sunset between 2 trees . It has recently been taken over by Aquis and the customs relations manager Rebbeca ensured our holiday was special by leaving a bottle of champagne ,cakes and fruits in our room on our anniversary ,also listening to what we had to say she is a credit to the company. Although the beach is limited the infinity pool made up for it . You wont be disappointed and we will be returning hopefully to the same room . If you attempt to walk to Rhodes old town as we did wear sensible shoes it took about 1 and 1/2 hours taxi back cost 9 euros or you can get a bus for 2 euro .Thankyou for a memorable holiday
Somewhere special In Ixia, Rhodes
from pinkylewis
My partner and I have just returned from the most fabulous week in Rhodes. We booked last minute into the Aquis Miramare Wonderland. From the minute we arrived we were met by the friendly receptionist, and made to feel very welcome. Our bungalow was beautiful, set amongst the picturesque, lush gardens. The accommodation was superb. The room consisted of a lounge, complete with comfortable sofa and TV/DVD player. A very quirky bedroom was off the lounge area, and modern bathroom. The gardens of the hotel are stunning, and features a spectacular infinity pool, over looking the hotels own private beach. Its the only hotel in Greece to have its own beach. The sunbeds were comfortable and the setting spectacular. The restaurant, which appears to be floating, is set in its own romantic setting, overlooking the Aegean. The food, buffet style, or a la carte, depending on your reservation was excellent, and the hotel maitre'd, Kostas was very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Look out for the adorable kitchen assistant, Kristina, who is hilarious, and kept trying to get us to eat more. Every meal time she met us and explained what the dishes were, and took great pleasure in showing us around. We were particularly impresed with Food and Beverage manager, Yiannis, and Customer relations manager, Rebecca. They both made us feel extra special, being so charming, courteous and friendly. They really are a credit to the hotel. The Wonderland express carries guests around the complex, if you wish. Don't let this put you off if you are a couple - the hotel is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway. The hotel has recently been taken over by the Aquis group, and if our stay was anything to go by, they will do very well. The stunning situation of the complex and the welcoming staff, made this the most perfect weeks holiday. I would'nt hesitate to return, or recommend it to family and friends. Phil & Colin
Had a fabulous holiday...... really relaxing, lovely hotel....
from MissKitty66
We had been very badly let down by a hotel in Zante not being ready for occupation so, having spent a week arguing with various UK tour companies etc we finally decided to book something else and argue in Court when we got back - needless to say we were "stressed" when we booked this, very last minute, and when we travelled. We arrived at the hotel and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room immediately. The room wasn't a room but almost an apartment really. My partner and I had my 4 year old daughter with us and we had a separate bedroom, with a sofa bed in the living room as well as a flat screen tv and a DVD / CD player. Lots of windows so lots of light which I love. There was ample space for all of us and the decor was of a good quality and cool neutral shades. There were tea / coffee making facilities as well as a good size bathroom and a private patio area that looked out over lovely grounds....... and lovely and quiet! No high rise buildings... all 1 or 2 storeys only... and very easy on the eye. Food was good all through the week and the pool is goregous!!! Truly. The pics on the web site don't really do it justice. Only let down really was the beach - if you want a beach holiday this won't work for you.... but if lazy days in lovely surroundings is your idea of the perfect holiday then go for it. The kids club was quite quiet as it was early in the season but my daughter came to view it as her own club house and used to go back and forth playing with Stamiata almost hourly... she had a great time. A special thank you to Yannis and Rebecca who looked after us very well.....!!!!!

We stayed at Miramar Wonderland in June of 2007 in a waterfront room. It was absolutely beautiful and quiet. Very nice shower and comfortable beds. The best part of Ixia though was Le Gourmet Restaurant. It was the best food that we had in our two weeks traveling in... more
