The Sheraton at Fisherman's Wharf is pleasant enough in general.
The staff are friendly from the outset and there are numerous valet parking staff hanging around outside that are happy to help you with bags and get you orientated. Staff inside the hotel were equally welcoming and seemed to genuinely care about the wellbeing of guests.
The hotel itself is generally well maintained, although the decor is rather kitch. They seem to have gone a little 'overboard' (no pun intended) on the seafaring theme that obviously dominates this area of San Francisco.
The hotel is positioned within a short walk of the waterfront and the popular pier 39 shopping and dining area. Having stayed in a smoking room I can't vouch the rest of the hotel but the room I had was pretty basic.
It was fairly small and not much to look at but the bed was comfortable. The coffee percolator didn't work which was a little frustrating in the morning and although it was reported I'm not sure if it was fixed during my short stay.
Facilities in the hotel include internet access, although this is basically consists of 1 machine stuffed into a tiny room, a small dining area and an over-priced souvenir shop.
I wouldn't say there is anything particularly wrong with the Sheraton but there are very few things to shout about either.
