Lovely location but overall very dirty. There is a tiki bar which they do not stop serving to those who have had too many. We had a young girl throwing up next to the pool, and rude drunks yelling and falling down.
You are not allowed your own beach chairs and umbrellas on their "private" beach. You have to pay rent for theirs as well as tip the cabana boy. The valet service is just plain scary!! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

I visited with my family in September. The hotel itself is outdated and looks like it is from another decade. It is the shabbiest of hotels on the Galt Ocean Mile.
The rooms were dirty and reeked of smoke. They advertised as having a lounge and restaurant but there was only a cafe and a Tiki bar, which were uncomfortable to use in the rain.
Although the Tiki bar is nice, the bartender, rude. The other guests of the bar got belligerently drunk and started screaming out profanities around 8pm while our kids were still in the pool.
Overall I think this hotel is the worst in Fort Lauderdale and I advise against staying there. <br>

When we got there we were not so pleasantly surprised. There was no parking, everything was valet or for people who live there or if you did not want to valet you could park in a “nearby” parking lot. Valet parking is not connected by telephone so you can not even call for your car to be ready, how is this valet?
The room: the door did not shut, the key cards did not work, there was mould all over the roof, the phone was broken, there was no alarm clock or any clock of any type, the towels were thin scratchy, smelly, stained and holey, the shower head had so much dirt on it, there were gaps between the doors so you could see in and they had the cheapest soap and shampoo.
The pool was nice if you like swimming amongst hair, dirty band aids, cups and straws from last nights drunken stupor and cigarette butts strewn all over the pool area. You had to pay for a pool/beach chair and for an umbrella (despite the surprise daily surcharge that the hotel charges you for such things). The bar looks okay if you can push past all the drunks that have been there since the night before. If you do get chance to swim I suggest the ocean and I suggest you take your own towel, you will only get one for the entire day and they guard them like they are gold even though they are scratchy and paper thin.
We asked for clean towels in our room and we waited for over an hour and we never received any. At 4:30pm our room had still not been cleaned (when we had been out of the room all day). When we called the front desk could not have cared at all. This was the general attitude of the staff who seemed to be more on vacation than we were and had the attitude of “whatever”. The staff were indistinguishable from the guests, smoking and drinking by the pool and giving every one attitude. Only time you could tell someone was a staff member was when they were asking for money for the chairs or umbrellas or telling us that we could not sit in certain areas around the pool as they were reserving it for their friends.
The hotel itself is a mish mosh of parts almost like the maintenance person goes out and buys the cheapest even if it does not match the existing hardware. The elevators when they worked were terrible, there were holes in the roof of one and the license for the two that were working expired in august 2004 and smelled awful.
I would not recommend this to anyone. This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in.
