Apartment was very inexpensive as booked last minute directly with YourStay.com. However the apartment was very dirty on arrival (cockroaches were in the room!). YourStay staff located in NYC were very rude and unhelpful. I have since contacted YourStay.com to express... more

I stayed at this place last December with my family and it was just perfect. The room was clean, and everything we needed was there- kitchen utensils, bathroom supplies, bedding etc. It was definitely a positive experience and the rate we got for the night was AMAZING for... more

Loved the location!!!
Upon arrival we had to wait a while (30minutes) for them to clean up the room even though it was after check in time (3pm). The room was clean and the view was great! We where on the 4th floor corner apt facing Harold Square. We could see Macys and Harold square from several of the apartment windows. Shopping was wonderful (there is a Gap, Old Navy, H&M and Starbucks within walking distance. You could actually open the windows, which was nice to get some fresh air in the room since we couldn’t adjust the room temp and I was a little warm at night (mid December 2004, the heat worked well!) 4 people stayed in the one bedroom apt. with an air mattress witch they supplied including plenty of towels and fluffy down comforters and the pull-out sofa. The apartment kitchen had a full size refrigerator, coffee maker and DISHWASHER! We all said we would stay there again…Soon!
We had no problems!
I visited New York this month with my girlfriend and parents. We were naturally concerned given the terrible reviews YourStay has received. Fortunately things worked for us. So here is our opinion. The entrance to Herald Towers is quite impressive, but when you reach reception you are sent to a 3rd floor flat to book in with YourStay. This is a small, poorly lit flat with two casually dressed chaps sitting being a table surrounded by pills of suitcases. We were told we could not book in until 3pm but could leave out bags with them. It all seemed very seedy and dodgy! We returned at 3pm got our keys without hassle and found a very acceptable appartment. Although a bit shabby in places in was basically clean with a well equipped kitched and TV with Cable. Although it is advertised as having internet access - it has only the connection, no computer - but OK if you have a laptop with you. There was a gym in the building but no details of how you might use this or whether there is a charge. We had a two bedroom appartment and to be fair the 2nd bedroom was really only a partition off the lounge and with no proper lighting (other than a lamp) and no clothes hanging space (although this oculd be found elsewhere in the apartment. There was no way to control the heating in this room and the draft from the window would no doubt make the room very cold in the dead of winter. However, the place was clean, we had no hassel, it was great to have a lounge to relax in which you would not get in a hotel room, and it was a lot cheaper!! Finally, the position was great, literally next door to the Empire State building, opposite Macy's, next to a subway station, and 10mins walk from Time Square. We were very happy, and if you accept it is not a hotel then what we got was great and we have no complaints. Would I use them again? Probably not, given all the terrible reviews. But if I was a crowd of young backpackers I would give it a go!
DO NOT STAY HERE
After reserving this two bedroom apartment on 34th street in July (and pre-paying), I arrived in December to find a man sitting at a desk in a small room on the third floor of the building. He was surrounded by luggage and piles of keys, and told me due to "mechanical problems" my family and I had been moved to 73rd street. There was nothing he could do except talk to someone named Asaf, who in turn needed to call the corporate office because I refused to move. Asaf told me by phone that only two hours ago this mechanical problem had occurred, so I asked how the 73rd street location could be printed next to our name on the list the person at the desk had gotten that morning?? The phone magically failed, and 1.5 hours and much arguing later, a two bedroom apartment was found. The second "bedroom" was a false wall built into what had been the dining room! Not very clean and no water pressure. When we went to check out, we had to wait 2 hours for someone to show up at the third floor room. It is too bad because this location is great, but there is no organization, very poor management, and lies about mechanical problems. Don't give them your money because you are not likely to get what you paid for.
Great for us, but not for everyone!
I am a college student, and thus have little to no money at any given time. I searched for a few hotels and eventually came upon this place. One of my friends had never been to NYC so I thought the location was perfect (which it was). Upon arrival it was fairly obvious to me that most of the people that rented were the same as us, a younger crowd just wanting to have a good time. The doorman/check-in guy was friendly and to the point. Every time we came on they verified that we were staying in the place, which is rather comforting to me. The room itself was fairly small, but well furnished for what you are paying. There were 4 of us total. We had a queen size bed and a foldout from a couch (rather comfy if I may say so), nice fluffy comforters, somewhat hard pillows. The cable internet I did not try...I just leached off some guy's wireless that lived in the building. The sink was a little on the clogged side, but we just braved it. No true "view" , but that could just be our room. The t.v. was larger and newer than most hotels I've stayed in with the exclusion of the 500+ dollar a night hotels that I stayed in in tokyo, berlin and well just other places. To get to the point it is a great deal for the money, especially if you are a hurting college student like me. I plan on booking multiple rooms there another time with more people!
Not worth it....
Very, very disappointed. We arrived in NY after a long night flight - to a room with no heating, no hot water and it smelt awful. The beds were dirty and the sofa bed very uncomfortable. While there is a reception in the building (Herald Towers) they do not take responsibility for 'yourstay apartments' - thus you have to start calling people and negotiating on the phone which is the last thing you need if you have a short time to spend in the city. At 3am we were still carting our luggage and bedding to another room. We stayed for 5days and having moved 4 people to a studio from an apartment - we were left to our own devices. We asked for a hairdrier and some clean towels and none were delivered. The only good thing about the place is that its in a central location and close to the metro. For the money we paid it would have been better to stick to a chain hotel. I would not recommend yourstay to travellers - its a tourist trap and not worth it.
a stone,s throw from the empire state building
first time in new york and we loved it.the apartmant was clean, modern and spacious.everything we needed and more,tv,dvd,cd player, phone with free local calls, handy for phoning for taxis.our one bed apt had one queen size bed and in the living area a double sofa bed.our five day stay was excellent.on the down side if you are used to hotels where you are waited on hand and foot then you are in for a surpise because at Yourstay you are really left to your own devices,no made up beds here every day,no fresh towels arriving every day in the bathroom.maid service once a week, but i think thats why we liked it.just doing our own thing, you have a keg and you come and go as you please.there,s always staff on at the front desk, they were all friendly and helpful.i would stay here again and would recommend it to any one.
Fantastic Deal
After reading some of the reviews on these apartments, I was expecting the worst so was very pleasantly surprised to find a gorgeous spacious apartment with cooker, microwave, coffee machine, fridge, dvd player, widescreen tv, hifi, cordless phone. There was 4 of us so a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa that folded out into a double bed was provided. The location is superb - it's on the same street as the Empire State Building and Macy's is literally across the road! There's a subway right by it as well. I'm definitely staying there again.
Yourstay is the best place to stay in NYC
This was our 4th time to NYC. We usually stay in hotels, but this time after reading some good reviews on apartments in NYC, we decided to choose YourStay Broadway Apartments. The building is located just across Macy's and a couple of minutes walking from the Empire State Building. We bought some food and we kept it in the fridge that was in the kitchen which was fully-equipped. We also brought with us some DVD'S because we knew that there is DVD in the apartment. My wife, brought her laptop, since she needed it for work, and we've been told that there is a wireless internet access, which worked great for us. The cables were free, and included all the channels (in the previous hotels we've been to, we had to pay for movies, but not in this apartment). We used the Penn St. subway which was really close to the building, and had great time in NYC. After this good experience, we will definitely stay again in a serviced apartments in the future, and we'll book again with Yourstay.
Would not recommend stay at Yourstay NYC
We encountered nothing but problems after arriving at Yourstay. We arrived at 3p.m for check in and were told we would be unable to check in until 4.30p.m as the previous guests had left belongings in the room and Yourstay were in the process of removing them. After eventually checking in we took a nap after a long flight to be woken up by people standing in our room! They were the previous guests who still had a key! When we complained there was no one from Yourstay available as they are only there during office hours. The sofa bed also broke and no one mended it. Aso only double glazing in main bedroom so very nosiy if sleeping on the sofa bed. The location is great but so what if the service is terrible.
Are you kidding me?
Your stay is a FRAUDULENT operation!! I worked hard to plan a vacation for my family including 2 children. I specifically inquired about the room sq. footage and picked this lousy place based on the quoted size and false description on their website. Someone named Mariam told me the room was 650 sq ft when in actuality it was at most 350. We could not get online to find another hotel because the cable was NOT HOOKED UP! The only positive aspect of this place was the location. The "kitchen" was a joke. The towels smelled foul. The doorman wanted to charge us for holding our bags for a few hours. The photos on the website are truly misleading. You should be ashamed of yourselves for false advertising and lying. Do not ruin your trip by staying here. Any complaints fall on deaf ears. Your business will not survive if you keep cheating people.
