Londra Hotel

We stayed at the Londra in August, be aware this is not an ideal area if you do not have access to a car Sorentto is about an hours walk away on dangerous roads, the Hotel is Budget but clean, the dining room is very school canteen. On one occasion we were asked to move from the table we were at as it was 'reserved for the family!!!'. Only one decent resturant nearby and the area is not particularly very nice (graffitti and dog mess everywhere). Went to Hotel Londra on an half board basis with First Choice from 9th June - 16th June 2006 with my partner. The hotel staff were very helpful. Our expectations were met on the basis of an Italian 3* hotel. The evening meal was ordered at breakfast and there were plenty of pasta / rice options to keep my vegetarian partner happy. Stayed in the Londra for 2 weeks at the end of May 2006.. This is a very clean and friendly budget type hotel. The pool area is small but always clean and the loungers are superb. The food is nice but the menu does not change so if you are there for the second week it does get a bit monotonous. Sorrento is a loverly place. However with lack of pavements it is unsuitable for children. Also, no beaches as such. Really only suitable for couples as no discos for young people. The Londra is very basic indeed, only suitable as a base. The breakfast is 7 to 9am and at 9am is totally packed so people want a later time. The Hotel is family run with staff. If you're seeking excitement you wont find it at the Londra. But the hotel and staff are clean, friendly, and as long as you just want a base from which to explore Sorrento then you'll be fine. Watch out if you have hips wider than 42 inches as the shower cubicles are VERY, very tiny! If you're on a low carb. diet then you're stuck because the menus, breakfast in particular, are carbohydrate hell - but the food is good, simple italian fare. I have recently returned from a stay at the londra and felt the need to let any future visitors know how busy and very noisy the road is outside the hotel. i have had no sleep for a week! we ordered a room with a balcony and had to pay extra to get it. I also wondered which part of the hotel had been 'recently refurbished' as i couldnt see any recent decor etc. the food and the waiters are excellent i couldnt fault them, the pool is clean and well maintained but be careful when ordering drinks, the prices change every time you order and... more

We arrived after a 24 hour journey due to a strike at Naples airport, having had one flight cancelled, 2nd flight delayed and then diverted to Rome without prior warning. We arrived at the hotel around 4.30am feeling a little frazzled to say the least. However what a lovely welcome we received, food and drinks provided without having to even ask. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel was excellent value for money. Would recommend to anyone and particularily those on a budget.

We had a problem with a robbery on the way to Amalfi.The problem could not be resolved there and had to be reported in Sorrento. the support we got from the hotel staff [Tina and her family] was first class loving and caring.We will strongly recommend this hotel to any of our friends who have the good fortune to go to Sorrento.

Travelled with Perillo Tours and they put us in this place... a DUMP! Would not remove my shoes the entire time we stayed there! Hotel has regular keys and not magnetic ones....SO OLD! Would never recommend this place!

We loved this hotel! Very friendly, helpful and hard working staff. Great service! The rooms and indeed the entire hotel are extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel now has a pool which is quiet and just right for the kids or a quick dip to cool down. The hotel is perfectly situated for the bus into Sorrento, there is a taxi rank outside and reasonable restaurants within walking distance (look out for the ostriches!). Terrific value for money.
