Great Hotel, Great Location, Great, Great, Great
from Stewartytosh
Loved every minute of our week's stay at the San Pietro. This hotel is really good. Couldn't fault a thing. We went for a relaxing week & that's exactly what we had. The service is very good. We were half board with plenty of decent food to choose from at breakfast & dinner. Swimming pools are more than adequate with the Relax zone very peaceful if that's what you want. Entertainment every night on terrace outside restaurant. Well worth it.

just returned from a brilliant week at the san pietro. great views from the hotel room which was clean and tidy and quite spacious and the air conditioning was a real bonus when the weather was 35'c each day. all waiting and reception staff were really helpful and a 5 course buffet dinner with loads of variety. the highlight of the hols was the bus driver who although not speaking much english greats everyone in their own language and is a real laugh. would recommend booking hotel directly at parchotels.it as we saved over £300 on the travel agents price and got an evening flight back which the agents dont offer !!! transfers by public transport cost us about €16 each . a bus from verona to Riva costs €5.20 so public transport v cheap. will definately be going back to the san pietro.
what a wonderful view

Never been to Italy before so had no idea what to expect......we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were pleasant, the facilities adequate and the room was large and comfortable and very clean. We had a balcony that overlooked the lake and mountains this was lovely to wake up to each morning. We found the peace and relaxation we'd hoped for. There were lots of places to visit and very good mini cruises to be had around the lake. If into walking this would be ideal countryside for it. The hotel entertainment each evening was very enjoyable. The food was excellent if a little samey Our only grump was the grounds of the hotel although lovely could have been a little cleaner and tidier..

In 2002, I chose Lake Garda and Limone on recommendation from a good friend. I said I wanted somewhere romatic to propose to my then girlfriend. It hit the nail on the head. The San Pietro was a really important factor. Being high up on the hill (cheap mini bus from hotel to town available and taxis cheap and friendly although we usually walked) the views are some of the best of any hotel in Limone and I'm sure on the lake as a whole. Every room has a lake view and in the evening I often just sat and looked at the lake, with the mountains that often just rise from the water and thought how lucky we were to be there. The coach from the aiport takes a couple of hours, but most of it is involves going around the lake road so you travel through beautiful town after town. When you arrive you won't care about the journey. It's a great base for either those who want to have a lazy time around one of the three pools (the view from the top one is awesome!), explore Limone, or walk/cycle in the hills above. It is also near a lovely taverna called Lando's Bar. Lando is a legend, a really nice guy and all the staff are very laid back. People have mentioned most things about the hotel and area. Limone is also great for getting to over beautiful towns such as Malcesine (must get the cable car), Riva and Torbole (windsurfer and cyclist's paradise). Going back to the reason for coming to Limone/Lake Garda, thankfully my girlfriend said yes to my proposal and we got married in Riva the following year. We stayed at the San Pietro again. As well as travelling to a couple of other places, we visted Lake Garda and the San Pietro in 2004. It might sound a bit over the top to go three times, however once you've been to Lake Garda, Limone and Hotel San Pietro you'll understand why it is a very special place for my wife and I. We will definitely return again and we definitely recommend the hotel San Pietro!

I spent a week at this hotel with my mum and my son (aged 14). When we arrived the weather was perfect and remained so all week. The staff on the reception desk couldn't be more helpful and we were in our room in no time. We were immediately struck by how nice the room was, we had a lovely view, we had white robes and hotel slippers provided (rarely get these as standard in UK). We were also impressed by the fact we had a kettle and could make ourselves tea (can't you just tell we are English). When we arrived back at the room from an orientation of the premises we had had some fruit, spumante and a bottle of fizzy water delivered complements of Hotel. There is also a mini bar in the room - 1.70 Euros for a bottle of water which costs 50C in the supermarket - usual prices in any hotel. Our rep said that the tap water is fine to drink - Limone is full of water fountains from which people can be seen filling up plastic bottles for drinking. The food in the buffet service restaurant was fab - lots of choice - the staff are all very nice and very efficient. Breakfast was very good too - again plenty of choice - never had so much good coffee. I would particularly recommend the quiet pool (child free - quiet teenagers allowed) at the top of the property - it has beautiful views, is unheated (very refreshing when hot) - a great place to immerse yourself in Harry Potter! (like a big kid). Complemantary coffee, Tea and cakes provided from 4 to 5pm in the Cactus bar near this pool. There is a nice panoramic walk behind the Hotel to the Olive Oil Co-operative (open restricted hours) or to the house of Camboni (African Missionary) or to the church of San Pietro which the Hotel is named after. If you go into town it is downhill all the way, and obviously very uphill on return - although the Hotel has a mini bus service available at a small charge (80C each way). Would certainly recommend this Hotel, will just add that we went with Inghams (which I would also highly recommend) and were allocated on arrival - so didn't know where we were staying - feel we were very lucky.
Loved it in Limone

We were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful hotel last year and I'm surprised at some of the adverse comments. The reception staff were, admittedly, not falling over themselves but this was more than made up for by the excellent waiting staff in the dining room. For them, nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly and charming without being intrusive. On departure many of them wished us safe journey and said that they hoped to see us again, which was lovely as we are not loud, extrovert types who make friends with the staff at every hotel. The food was excellent, always beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. The breakfast chef didn't even mind when I asked him to baste hot fat over my fried egg! Although a bit steep, the walk into the village was delightful. There was also an inexpensive shuttle but driven by a real "character" - constantly claiming "driver no speaka any English", but actually a really nice chap. A bonus of this hotel is that it doesn't really cater for children and one of the pools is a "silent" pool where you can relax and read, swim, drink or whatever without any splashing or noise. On several evenings there was entertainment either around the pool or in the bar which was very good. Brilliant views of the lake and, as it's high on the hill, if you wanted to walk to the olive oil factory or into the hills you're halway there! I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Wonderful Holiday

Arrived at the four star Hotel San Pietro in Limone and it was really lovely. Set back from the Lake and quite high up, it had a fantastic view of the Lake Garda and was hidden enough to make this a wonderfully peaceful holiday within a short walking distance of the beautiful village of Limone. A walk into the village helped work off all the food we had enjoyed in the hotel, or there was a bus service available for a few cents - we opted to walk to take in the views and the fresh air. The room we stayed in was excellent with great facilities and even a bathrobe and slippers! Food at the San Pietro was wonderful, a vast variety to suit all tastes, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The three swimming pools were lovely and cooling and never overcrowded and the topmost one had wonderful views over the lake and to the mountains. We would recommend this hotel and Limone and Lake Garda - it was wonderful! We will definitely be back!
love at first sight

On our arrival, we walked up the steps to the sound of Dean Martin singing "amore", looked at the view and fell in love again. The food was superb but some people could say the rooms are a little basic. At the price it was one of the best holidays we have had. Very friendly and warm atmosphere, definitely go back.
Fantastic

I have just read the other two reviews and I wanted to write and disagree. Admitedly the staff could at times be a little unhelpful but on the whole everything that we asked for we received. The room we had was of a very high standard and the balcony gave us an amazing view of lake garda. The food was always different for the main course and you had a wide range of salad, vegetables and starters and desserts to choose from. For trips you did have to travel that little bit longer but that is because Limone is situated at the upper end of the lake therefore it makes more sense to start at the top and work down, and to be honest itwas a better area as you were surrounded by the most amazing mountain scenery whereas at the bottomend of the lake the surrounding area is very very flat . I was very pleased with my stay and would certainly visit again.

We had a very dissappointing experience at the San Pietro. Rude reception staff, bed linen changed once a week, bed linen with holes in, cracked toilet bowl, leaking shower, shower running hot then cold due to water pressure, one iron between 89 rooms, adequate - but by no means a varied buffet of food, stale bread for breakfast and the list goes on...... There was no room service, we received wake up calls at 5.30am when they were not requested, then we did not get calls that we asked for. The hotel was unable to provide us with a packet breakfast for our excursions as promised by the tour operator and neither were they able to provide a suitable alternative. I am afraid that some potatoes and tomatoes from the dinner the evening before were also offered at breakfast several times. There was no poterage service when we arrived and we had to carry our own luggage to our rooms up four flights of stairs. The worst part of it all was that the hotel reception and manager seemed not to care and offered us no alternatives. We asked to move hotel in the end as it was really spoiling our holiday. If taking an excursion with Lagotourist they will pick up from the San Pietro first and this will add an extra 2 hours onto your excursion as it will take 120 minutes to pick up the other guests from other towns around the lake beofre you even set off to your destination. For a trip to verona this is not so bad but when you are awaiting a bus a 6.15am in the morning to go to Florence and finish picking up other guests at 8.45am before setting off it is a bit waring!! Internet access at the hotel is very expensive and so a local town net cafe may prove less costly - also ask to see you room before accepting it - our room, like most of them in the san pietro are on the main drag to the restuarant and if you want a relaxing time with little traffic from other guests passing your balcony then this hotel is certainly not for you. The only good thing I have to say about the San Pietro is that the landscaping is fantastic, but it is a backhanded compliment in a sense as the foilage does its best to hide the hotel and it is hidden from view when looking at it from the lake. In my opinion, this is probably the best thing for it. Karl Wallace (San Pietro Sep 2003)

As promised a room with a magnificent view. The room was large and we had free wine and drinks, free use of odds and ends made you feel as if you had paid more. VERY polite staff, food was ok. Must hire a car to see the region fully. Added to which the hotel is at the top... more
