" Clearwater is a beautiful clean sun... "

Clearwater is a beautiful clean sun soaked destination, that you will spend most of your time on the beach, and so I wasn't too concerned about the accommodation, until I got there.

Check in was simple but the quality of the room we were given was appalling, the stench was overpowering, I couldn’t imagine my small child sleeping there.

We were also told it was a self catering apartment but when we arrived at the room, it was clear it wasn't, we complained and were moved with little or no fuss.

The rooms still had an un polite aroma, however this is the type of fluid they use to clean the rooms.

The first day there seemed disappointing, but it improves, the room we were in had a double view, the gulf and the harbour, seen a few things swimming by and the thunderstorm we experienced, seem to centre on the hotel we were in and gave a dramatic view of this.

There was a tiki hut by the pool, the lady working there had a parrot and this gave plentiful entertainment, the arcade is thoughtful for the kids and although the hotel was renovating, this didn’t harm our stay.

Pool is small but adequate, and the sunsets from the rocks down below the hotel are a Mecca.

Would advise anyone staying here to pop into shepherds next door to sample their buffet breakfast.

Food is served at hotel and entertainment but like I said at the start, most of the time you are out.

" This is the second year running we... "

This is the second year running we have stayed at this hotel and on both occasions there has been work going on to improve it. This has not detracted from a very enjoyable stay.

In 2004 we stayed for 4 weeks and this year we stayed for 5.
The staff were very helpful, the room was clean and tidy, the pool area was spotless and the pool cleaned every morning.

We are back for a further 5 weeks in 2006 and cannot wait.
