went here in july 2008 as part of a 2 centre hotel deal. 1 week in orlando ( international plaza resort and spa ) which was great and the 2nd week here at the hilton. Situated on the beach which we found was the best asset of the hotel. Wasnt told that had to pay 35 dollars to park for a week and found the beds were too small for 2 people. The rooms were ok for a hotel room and we did get sea view, so that was a bonus. Found the food pretty crap though. Think that this hotel is for holiday makers who are just after a relaxing holiday cos not much to do for kids.

I visited this hotel as part of a 2 centre Orlando / Clearwater.
Marriott village lake Buena vista Fantastic!
Hilton absolutely disgusting! If you are American the staff respect you, English and they ignore you!
Loads of building work that’s been going on for 1 year to update the rooms!
I am travel agent and my advice - don’t waste your money and don’t go to St Pete’s!

This was a two centre holiday and we were not given check in details for the Hilton in Clearwater (4pm) which meant that we wasted a whole day waiting around for the rooms. The rooms were not south facing as specified in the brochure and this was also very disappointing.
We were encouraged to use the Virgin Downtown Disney check in but on arrival could not find it. Once found at 1245 we were told it was closed despite the fact that it clearly stated on our documents that it closed at 1pm. Virgin check in staff were very rude and dismissive and spoiled another day of what otherwise was a fabulous holiday. Tour operators should pay a little more attention to detail which would make so much difference to holidaymakers experience.

Good location but that is all. The hotel is small, cramped and tatty. It is also very outdated. It has been renovated recently but not to a very high standard.
The staff are friendly enough but there are too few of them and the crowded poolside bar area is often awash with other people's used plates, glasses and take away food containers.
The outside is also shabby and I echo the previous review, the charge for the beach equipment is scandalous. What is the point of going to a 'beach resort?'
Jetsave staff were of no help whatsoever and initially refused any money back. Still pending......
Don't go there. Clearwater is quiet and relaxing but try another hotel.

Hotel is being refurbished, noise was pretty bad during the day but did cease around 5.30.
This hotel is not suitable for families sharing a room. The rooms are very cramped, ideal for one person for a corporate weekend. We had one drawer for three persons and an 18 inch hanging rail. There was a desk in the room but no table and chairs for room service, no space to store luggage, no wardrobe, no fridge.
Children’s activities were expensive as were hire charges for beach chairs. Bar and restaurant overpriced. Bathroom was minute. Nice view from balcony taking in beach and harbour. Ideal area for boating trips but little else to do, not much shopping locally and limited choice of restaurants.
There is a marine rescue centre nearby open to visitors but the conditions are not ideal. Could not swim in the sea during our visit due to red tide. Would not return to Clearwater.

We stayed in Orlando but were only at the Hilton for three days and the choice was mine from the outset, but what a choice! The hotel is simply SUPERB as are all of its very friendly and helpful staff who would go out of their way to help you with anything at all.
The hotel looks out onto a picture postcard beach which is highly maintained daily and the pool area is spotless with a very nice bar.
The rooms are well appointed and clean with everything you need including a really good size fridge an iron and ironing board so no more crushed clothes to bother about.
Food and drink are not at all expensive in the hotel and the quality is extremely high with very generous portions.
The whole area is stunning and the people could not be more polite and helpful it was an eye open to me on my first ever visit to the USA, and I will be back next year for certain.
Just go and ENJOY it....
Advice: Well worth the visit and use the Jolley Trolley to get about and go right out to the end of the line
Activities: Sloppy Joe's
Good for: Beach
