great hotel
from 69marina
I have stayed at Leonardo 6 times and will definitely come back next year. I’ve tried some other hotels in Limone, but I’m absolutely sure Leonardo is the best hotel you could ever find in the area! First of all the atmosphere at the hotel is absolutely magnificent. I had never experienced anything even close to such a warm environment! Everyone in the hotel team is just fantastic - very helpful, amiable and pleasant in every respect. They make you feel very welcome and assist in all possible ways. The front desk personnel, especially Wally, are true examples of Italian hospitality. They definitely know how to treat guests. The food is delicious. Restaurant manager Johnny manages the main restaurant and bar in a perfect way. All the waitresses, Agnieszka in particular are very friendly. Animation team, Nica and Niko, are very good with the kids and work hard to give good shows in the evening. Limone itself is a charming tiny place at the foot of the mountains (the picture attached). It’s nice to walk along the lake (the picture attached), visit Lemon houses, The San Pietro Church and The Parish Church, sit in the shade of the trees enjoying the flowers near The Comboni Missionary Center, make a nice mountain walk (not easy!) along the tourist path which starts near appartamenti La Milanesa (the picture from this path is attached). Don’t forget to buy olive oil in Cooperativa Agricola Possidenti Oliveti store (at the corner of via B. Croce and Via Campaldo). Besides well known excursion to Venice, Verona, etc., I’d recommend to have half day trips to Varone waterfall ([--]) and the ruins of the castle in Arco ([--]). To both places are in easy 30 minutes drive. Also it’s nice to go to the Botanical garden and D’Annunzio house ([--]) in Gardone Riviera. I’ll thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a quiet relaxing stay away from business life in crowded cities.
Fantastic hotel- had a great time
from zahidz3
We booked a week long stay at the Leonardo da Vinci in July and had a great time. With a nine month old baby we were desperate for a bit of relaxation and Lake Garda hits the spot! The hotel is well maintained with excellent staff and we were happy with our room overlooking the lake. The views are fantastic and the facilities on offer here are good too. There was a great water slide in the top swimming pool that I made full use of. Plent to keep kids happy at this resort. Food is great for breakfast and dinner but the lunches are rather disappointing with only a bare minimum choice of chips and one other main. Jonny in the main restaurant keeps things running smoothly and is always on hand to make sure you are happy with things. Baby was well looked after and it is clear that this is a very family friendly resort. The pebble beach is lovely too but you have to walk down some pretty steep stairs to get to it. The water was too cold for us wimps despite it being July due to the fact that we are at the north end of the lake. People were swimming in it though and the water is exceptionally clean. Limone is a great little town with lots of cheap restaurants with brilliant food and I wish we had made more of an effort to go down there. We did three of the tours offered to us by First Choice Lake tour, Verona and GardaLand themepark. If you stay at the hotel you get free tickets to the theme park but you have to pay for the coach (20 euros per head) Lake Tour was pretty crap and we spent way too long on the coach rather than on boats as promised. Not recommended with a screaming baby! Verona is beautiful and romantic and worth going to enen if just to see the messaged left on Juliets Balcony. Great restaurants and the pizza is mindblowing. GardaLand is a great theme park and the best thing is that the adrenine rides dont have much a line . The "big" attractions there didnt really justify the long half hour queing like Time Voyager which was very disappointing. We will recommend Lake Garda as a great destination and we wish we had more time there as there was a lot that we had not seen like the Aqua park and the activities on offer for adrenine junkies like canyoning , mountain climbing and biking. Perhaps next time we will stay south of the lake so that we can get to GardaLand and Verona more quickly but we may be tempted back to the Leonardo hotel as we had such a great time there. Hope this encourages you to go there !!!

It would have been lovely to stay at the leonardo da vinci; all the reviews were positive, the facilities sound excellent, just what we were looking for. Since we wanted to travel in school hols, we booked nice and early - in january, to travel in july. We booked direct with the hotel and paid our deposit. It is now TWO WEEKS to our holiday, and the hotel have cancelled our rooms. They have offered another hotel away form the lake, no sports facilities, and recommended for adults seeking peace and quiet. We have two teenage children who were looking forward to sports facilites on site. On checking reviews for the alternative hotel offered, I have found lots of others who have booked direct and had rooms cancelled. It seems the hotel takes your deposit money by offering a discount for early booking, and then sells the room at full price nearer the time. Must be a nice hotel if you can get there! We now have the choice of a hotel we don't want or lose our deposit; the hotel are not offering to return it.
Scenery amazing

We stayed at this hotel for ten days at the end of August 2006 and had a brilliant holiday. We have two children aged 6 and 4 and it was just a perfect family hotel. They loved the slide at the top swimming pool, but if you wanted a more quiet swim the other pool was perfect. They loved the help your self ice cream - with our permission of course. At lunch time if we were spending the day at the hotel we would tend to go to the lakeside snack bar where you can have the same lunch as at the hotel but right next to the lake watching the boats and windsurfers and general lakeside activity. Idylic and very peaceful by the lake. The evening entertainment was fun for them and we enjoyed it too. The childrens disco didn't go on too long and if we stayed up for the evening entertainment that seemed ok if the children weren't too tierd from the hours and hours of swimming and playing. The hotel staff were lovely, very helpful, rooms very clean, daily maid service faultless. Food good varied and plentifull.
A little piece of heaven on earth
from RustyPearl
A little piece of heaven on earth! The location is stunning and the hotel excellent. The staff are friendly and hard working, the food is delicious and plentiful and the superior rooms are more than adequate. The scenery has to be witnessed to be believed - a shimmering sparkling lake to the front and majestic mountains literally just behind. Limone itself is beautiful and although the minibus stops at 6pm an evening stroll (20 mins) is within most people's capabilities and infact necessary after an extremely filling meal. The hotel provides entertainment every night for those who are too lazy to walk into Limone - but you will be missing a magical view if you don't do it at least once and of course there are also the not to be missed gelateris! (disabled people would struggle with the walk as it is steep in places). There are plenty of trips to enjoy - Venice by night is a must, Verona is equally beautiful and those daunting Dolomites are spectacular. We have just booked for the third time and I can not imagine lasting a whole year without going. Although I love to find new places I just don't think there could be anywhere else to compare. Italy is classically beautiful, full of warm friendly people and serves up delicious and healthy food. Limone is an excellent base for exploring nort east Italy and Leonardo Da Vinci is most definately the place to stay.
Loved it

I have been to this all inclusive hotel for 3 years and it has never faultered. I always love to go and it is great in the evenings, the animations team always have a theme at night whether it be Bingo or Horror. There is lots to do for children such as clubs in the day and 1 hour slots of things to do at the pool or nearby beach owned by the hotel! Sometimes we found the animations team could be a bit pushy in getting you up to do things but it was not a big problem. It is about a mile walk to the town of Limone whereas there is lots of restaurants and shops. The buffet in the evening simply delicious and there is a choice of waiter service too! I was delighted with the range of food available. Suitable for all ages. Also there is a pool bar at the edge of the pool where salad and pasta based dishes are available at lunch. The staff are extremely helpful and polite and the maid service is outstanding. Most rooms have air conditioning and a bath which is quite rare in hotels abroad. The pool is quite big and there is a small children's pool aswell. There are sun loungers next to the pool where you can relax, take in the mountain view and enjoy the hot italian sun. It is aimed at families. Overall i am always outstanded with the high standard of this hotel but this year we will be venturing somewhere outside of Lake Garda. Although i would always recommend this hotel for a family friendly holiday with a relaxed and calm atmosphere.
terrible

Come here on a football tour for 3 nights. Staff were rude and had no respect what so ever. I was in the que when a Italian came in and staff was most happy 2 help them. Told us to shutup and spoke to us however they liked..Food was at a ridiculous price and was not even nice! Have a problem with the English. Would never go back to that hotel as the staffs attitude was appalling. Visitors should not get treat like that from a four star hotel. Was disgraceful.
Great if you upgrade!!!

We accidentally arrived a day early ,and the staff were extremely helpful even though the hotel was busy they gave us a standard room until our superior room was vacant the following day. The standard room was poky and shabby, the bathroom had no light!! not that it didn't work there just wasn't one!! The room was also really far away and at one point I thought my partner had taken a wrong turn. The superior room was enormous and had it's own terrace, garden and lake view (plus toilet light) and was right by the pool and my rating only reflects this room. The all inclusive is great for people holidaying on the cheap but to be honest the food during the day is awful by Italian standards (lots of salt to flavour everything) but at night this improved. The entertainment is aimed at much older than ourselves (late 20's) and the only thing my partner enjoyed was Brazilian night, don't think I need to explain why?
great value
from robmasjor
We stayed here as a group and for what you get for your money it was good. The bedrooms are definately in need of a makeover though and are quite dated and shabby. However the maids come in everyday and change all the towels etc so not too bad on that front. Limone town centre is a fair trek away and the hotel is situated in different buildings on hills. Whilst the views were great the trek wasn't :( especially for a few members of the party that had walking problems. Food was varied and plentiful although the gremans that push and shove you out of the way are, lets say, annoying at the best of times... Some of the staff were either downright rude or couldn't do enough to help! The pool was always busy but enough free drinks and food to go round everyone.. The private beach was excellent and again fantastic value for money.
Great food & service - what more could you want?

We stayed here for a week from 6th September and are already planning a return for the future. Friendly warm welcome, helpful staff. Rafts of food and drink, and there really is no 'catch' with the All Inclusive. The room was enormous and had it's own terrace, garden and lake view (albeit it distant), and the facilities were second to none. We booked with First Choice, and the rep Carol Anne has lived in the area for some years so is very knowledgable and helpful. had some cracking excursions out to Verona, Venice, Canale, Riva, Malcesine, and a lot of the other Garda resorts are pretty much a short ferry ride away. Italy is beautiful.....only been to Sorrento before, and though it couldn't be beaten but Limone and the staff at The Leonardo proved me wrong.

Our family (including twin boys aged 4) stayed at the hotel in late June 2008 and had a fantastic time. It’s very much a family hotel so if you want a sedate mealtime dining experience then it’s probably not for you; likewise if you have difficulty walking distances or... more
