" We have just returned from this... "

We have just returned from this hotel, it was a delight to stay in.

The suite was beautiful and all the staff couldn't do enough for us; everyone asked how we were enjoying ourselves from the pool man to the security staff. The taxis from studio cars were also excellent.

The ladies at reception were the best we have ever dealt with and really created a lovely atmosphere around the hotel.

We would love to stay again - the beach and the pool were outstanding and we had them to ourselves most of the time. This hotel knocked spots off the hotel we stayed at in Orlando; I would recommend it to anyone.

" Can't fault anything about this... "

Can't fault anything about this hotel. The staff are so friendly from the reception when we arrived, staff by the pool and beach to the security guard who from his pocket, made an animal from a balloon for my daughter on our last day.

We had a great room overlooking the courtyard and the Gulf of Mexico. Will be going back again (sooner rather than later, we hope).

Across the road is one of the best restaurants for sea food anywhere, called Snappers. The Tuna starter is the best we've ever tasted.

" This hotel wasn’t our original... "

This hotel wasn’t our original booking for all 24 of us, but due to our total disappointment and disgust of our first hotel (Dolphin Beach Resort), we where all moved.tired. Fed up. Very upset! To this hotel....It was like walking into Buckingham palace!!! The receptionist was very helpful and upgraded ALL of us to suites when he heard we had such a bad experience! This hotel is really clean, just been refurbished and very comfortable. Ok there is no entertainment but there is beach bars very close. Unfortunately it was only for 5 nights, but I would strongly recommend anyone who's thinking of staying in St Pete's....Tradewinds Sandpiper is the place to stay!!

" When we stayed here, the public areas... "

When we stayed here, the public areas of the hotel and the rooms themselves were in desperate need of some refurbishment. This was supposed to be commencing at the beginning of 2004.

It can be a bit of a shock after a long journey, to find the hotel, not to the standard you were expecting. Remember your tired, get a good nights sleep, it will look better in the morning.

Watch the pool here, its very deep for young ones, better pools available along the beach at the sister hotel the grand. Take advantage of the explorer pass, it covers your parking and all the beach facilities.

Plenty round about Busch Gardens a must, St Petersburg itself is good place to visit, the pier and cinema, worth a visit for a more relaxed night.

Loads of malls in the vincity for the shopaholics, all the usual shops. Usual restaurants and a cracking little Italian just up from the hotel (red sign, forgot the name ).

We feared the worst when we saw the hotel, but we slept on it, and had a great two weeks.
