Fantastic hotel very modern and lovely themed hotel. It's right on the waterfront with shops and restaurants and pier 39 close by. There is a cable car turn right outside the hotel in the little park. Found the local buses easy to use and a stop 2 blocks behind the hotel. We were only there 3 nights and used the restaurant for breakfast one morning and it was fine. I'd recommend this hotel and would have no reservations about stopping there again. When we were dropped off the driver commented ours was the nicest hotel out of the 3 we dropped at, he said it had a good reputation and we'd love it, he wasn't wrong!

I can only mirror the previous comments. Great hotel, great location. We recently had a 7 night stay here as part of a longer holiday. We have been to San Francisco before, but stayed elsewhere. We saw the Argy on our last trip and visited the Blue Mermaid restaurant attached to the hotel. We decided then, that we must stay here on our next trip.
The Argonaut is a great place to stay. All the staff were very friendly and the wine tasting session in the lobby every evening was a great way to meet fellow guests (and drink plenty of free local wine!).
San Francisco itself is a truly fantastic city. Our favourite holiday destination bar none. We have been lucky to have great weather when we have been there.
Don't spend too much time around the Wharf. It's interesting enough, but the real heart and excitement lies in the other districts.
