My boyfriend and I went to the Oceanis hotel in July 2008. Overall we found the hotel excellent apart from the view minor blips. When we first arrived it was early morning and the hotel looked excellent just as the pictures had shown in the brochure, the moment we got there we were given a room which was sea view as we has requested, and the view was spectacular, well worth the extra money! However, we were expected to find out which floor we were situated on, and at that time in the morning you just want to get into your room and relax not search the whole hotel for your room. Then when we found our room, we found that the electric was not working, we then discovered that the reception staff had failed to tell us that the key was used to turn this on.
The Safety Deposit Boxes are fixed securly to the inside on the wardrobes, these are provided at a charge, this cost us 14euros for 7nights, but we considered it to be a neccesity.
All the staff are extremelly friendly and helpful when you ask for help. The Maids Clean the rooms every day and new towels are provided and clean sheets. All The Faicillites in the room work well, we found the air conditioning to work very well and kept our room extremely cool throughout the day and the night. Also there is a fridge and a telvision. the brochure says that there is a hair dryer provided, this hairdryer is poor, not strong and takes a long time to dry your hair.
The Entertainment in this hotel, is extremely poor, personally we found the childrens mini disco more entertaining than the entertainment aimed at the adults.
The Food in this hotel was excellent most days there was a really good variety, the food was kept warm and replaced often. The dinner and breakfast was the best, and the lunches were good but not as much variety.
The Pool and Sunbeds were excellent, the pool was slightly cold, but during the day it gradually got warmer and was lovely and big, plenty of room for everbody. The sunbeds are arranged so you can spend all day in the sun or half of the day, just makes sure your dont put your towels down till after 8am or your towels wll get taken to reception.
When it came to check out, you have to vacate your room and 12 noon, if you want to keep your room till 6pm it cost 40 euros, till 8pm 50 euros and till departure 70euros. Im our Opinion and extremely high prices. A Courtesy room is provided if you wish not to do this, as we did not. you get 30 mins in this room, you dont have to book slots but wait in reception untill you get called.
Overall, we really enjoyed the holiday and found the hotel generally good and would definatly recomend it.

me and my girlfreind me 20 her 19 had a week at oceanis hotel in rhodes. the hotel when we arrived looked fantastic we were given our room and we found that it was a mountain view room when we asked for a seaview room. we wnet and asked for a seaview room and was told to come back in the moening it was 3am lol. in the morning we had an/argument/chat with the female manager who told us it would be an extra 5 euros a day for a sea view to which we declined. the moutain view room was better in my honest opinion after a few days as the seaview rooms overlooked the pool with the karaoke and the guest taloking shouting singing etc where our room was at the back and nice and quiet. our room was suppost to be air conditioned we had a little radiator type thing that only blew cold 1foot in front of it lol. ****do not use the fone in the hotel room we made 3 calls that lasted 6mins 6 mins and 11 mins and they charged us 27 euros!!***** the pool was the dogs couldnt ask for anything more. the food was really nice when we 1st got there but the novelty dies off chips chips and mre chips!! (and im a 20 yeard old bloke who loves chips!!) and the variety of deserts were poop in my opinion!
we had a day trip to lindos booked through out company thomas cook. was the dogs very hot down there though and got to jump into the sea off the boat! rhodes town is a nice place for a walk shop be it old or new town. watch the scooters though those things are mad!! the beaches are pebble and abit rough to play about on nd the sea is very rough in ixia due to the slight wind!! overall we had a great time my 1st time abroad and i wouldnt mind going back but i want to see more of the world now lol!!

Just returned from one week all inclusive and my overall opinion is 'very good'. The only problems i would report are (i) mosqitoes (which is probably true of any resort abroad) and (ii) the air conditioning was turned on the day after i left, so the rooms were extremely hot during the night. The hotel was not 4* according to UK standards, but was of good standard. The food was excellant and if you wanted to you could eat from 07:00 till 23:00. Alcohol was available from 10:00 till 23:00. Dispite that i did not see anyone drunk. Some have said that this is because the drinks are watered down. I don't know if that is true. The animation was a bit loud, but you could get away from that. The animation team were tireless in trying to get people involved.
Overall i would recomend this hotel

Arrived at the airport and didn’t get stopped by the drug squad to be strip searched this time, thankfully. It seems they have started renovating the airport and it’s a lot brighter and cleaner than it was the last time we went.
Taxi to the hotel was 15 euros and there is always plenty outside, they have set tariffs to different parts of the island, all reasonable prices. Or check out this web site for prices and other info http://www.rodos.com we spoke to a couple in the hotel who booked taxi transfers in the UK through the agent and they paid over £100.
On arrival at the hotel the main foyer is modern, large, airy, nice and cool. The reception staff are very friendly and speak good English.
The bar is open until 2am but you have to pay for your drinks as the free bar shuts at 11pm on the dot so the only problem if you’re arriving after 2am is there is nowhere to get a drink as there are no facilities in the room, there is a little kiosk shop just up the road if your desperate though. The downside on the drinks is there isn’t a lot of choice, local beer on a help yourself basis, vodka, rum, brandy, gin, etc. cocktails have to be paid for but aren’t too expensive, on average 3 euros. The room we had was on the 1st floor at the back looking over the children’s play area and the rear pool, the room was basic but clean, the maids came in every day made the beds and left fresh towels. Air con doesn’t start being used until July in the guest rooms so be prepared for hot sticky nights, we used our hair drier on the cool setting and blew it into the fridge when we got really hot, DIY air con, lol The pool area at the front of the hotel is lovely, sun beds are a bit crammed in and as usual its towels at dawn if you want to get close to the pool, be prepared to get up early to stake your claim with your towel if you do, some guests even left there towels on overnight, I’m afraid its got to the stage of ‘if you cant beat em join em’ where ever you go now. There are lots of seating areas around the hotel so always somewhere to sit inside or out, shady or sunny. The pool at the rear of the hotel is a proper sun trap but there is shade too and it’s a lot quieter but you need to be up early for this too. The hotel is clean and tidy, suitable for disabled with ramps and lifts, not a lot for kids to do apart from the pool, a few amusements and the playground round the back but it is a little run down, there weren’t many kids there anyway. There are tennis courts for hotel use, they are round the back. The small pebble beach is over the road, a very busy road too, but the traffic noise didn’t bother us, if you want to go over to the beach and daren’t brave the road use the underpass at the hotel next door on the left. I found the layout of the dining room a bit dangerous though as there are 2 steps running all the way along from the serving area to most of the tables, so watch where you are walking.
The food is ok, like most other all inclusive hotels but there was enough choice and plenty of puddings. The waiters are very efficient and the dining room runs smoothly and there was always somewhere to sit without the handbag reserving!
The hotel staff are very helpful, hardworking and friendly, Yannis the barman is a good source of info and has a wicked sense of humour, he works very hard to keep the queue down but will chat if he has the time. The animations team are a good laugh and keep you entertained with their antics. We went to Rhodes town a couple of times. We did walk there the first time, its hard work in the heat or you could get a taxi, this costs 6 euros. The old part is nice lots of winding alleyways, shops and restaurants; the new town is ok too for shopping. One thing I wasn’t too happy with was the baggage room, this was round the side of the hotel and wasn’t locked so anyone could have walked in but fortunately crime on Rhodes is quite low. All in all it’s a nice Greek owned hotel and we did enjoy our stay here.

the hotel was or is butlins abroad the rooms on the 1st to 4th floors have not been refurbished and the quality and standard is very poor, the toilet door does'nt open all the way because it hits the toilet seat! shower would not stay on the wall, the matresses were old dirty and stained, we moved out after changes for clean matresses were completely ignored, but i have to say the food was adequate and the hotel was relatively clean in the communial areas, and every where people were continually smoking, no allowance at all for non smoking areas, no service from staff at all . but ixia is a nice resort along with rhodes in general, nice friendly people, thank god for the amathus beach hotel ,sanctuary in a lovely hotel,

This was the best holiday I have ever been on! and it was mainly to do with the hotel staff! They are all great especially the entertainers, they get everyone involved and you make lots of friends. It is soooooooo close to the beach which has water sports available at reasonable prices (tip-- make sure you wear goggle when doing them). You are also a close taxi drive away from "bar street" which is a great night out and has a great club at the end....It has 3 floors the bottom floor is live music, middle floor is club music and top floor is r&b. Its great! The food is amazing and so is the beer although you do have to pay for most the cocktails. I loved it so much we are planning on going again soon!

We had two weeks holiday that went by very quickly indeed.
The best week was spent playing golf with some of our friends and (cousins) of the children's- it was a great game and I think they enjoyed it! James is the oldest and he said that the game was brilliant!
We played in the swimming pool and enjoyed the slide very much- I think Christopher seemed like it he was playing quiet actively! and he doesn't want to get out when it's time the water he said it's warm of course he's only six years old but he's quite a water baby when he gets
Everyone had a very good time and Christopher once to come back because of the slide
James is going to invite our cousins to play golf again.
Alice is coming back with her grandmother who she is looking forward to a lot and she doesn't stop talking about it
And I have to think about the money that I think I have enough time again it is a very good hotel and once you stay you want one to go back
It is very hot in the summer which is very good if you want to read a book while you watch the children play and have a nice time on holiday.

I stayed at the Oceanis for two weeks all inclusive with my parents and boyfriend (from 18-42 years old). I cannot believe that people would say anything bad about this hotel. I thought it was absolutely fantastic.
The food was brilliant, lots of choice, even for my boyfriend who is very fussy! There are Greek options for people who want to sample the local cuisine, and also food from around the world for others who want simple food e.g. salad, chips, chicken, beef.
The hotel room was spacious and thoroughly cleaned every day, we had a fabulous view over the pool and looking out to sea. We walked up the street every night to the bars and ate out at restaurants and they were very reasonably priced and all staff were friendly. We went into Rhodes town a few nights and it was a great night out, more night life that Ixia, and only a short taxi ride away.
I thought the entertainment team did an excellent job, entertaining not only the children but adults too. Drinks were of good quality in the hotel and all the staff were helpful, friendly and talked English which was fab. I would definitely recommend this 4* hotel, and would go back again in a minute as it was excellent value for money. If you want 5* fabulousness then pay for it and go somewhere else.

Went for a week’s break on full board in May 2006. I have a young son who was 4. The hotel was very clean and the rooms spotless.
Entertainment was good, catering for all ages. The pool was cleaned and to prevent people from putting towels down too early in the morning, they had a nice man who looked after the place! There was a queue of Germans though when the pool opened.
The food was basic but a good variety. You could only get 2 drinks at a time on the bar of an evening. The bar staff were fab! Especially john, who was great with children.
I returned back in August the same year for 2 weeks this time, loved it!
Watch the main road though....very dangerous.

A group of nine of us (mixed ages) stayed at the Oceanis Hotel in Ixia for two weeks.
On arrival the hotel was as expected from images we had viewed. The hotel has undergone refurbishment and they are gradually upgrading the rooms, floor by floor. Our room had not been upgraded and was a bit basic (but for all you are in the room?) Maid service was daily and the room was kept immaculate, as were all public areas.
The food in the hotel we all found to be first class, the choice was excellent - everything from Greek dishes (gyros, souvlaki, mousakka) to fresh fish, curries; the chefs were fantastic in ensuring the dishes were varied. Breakfast and lunch were also both first class and piping hot.
There is a choice of two bars and we had no queuing (and the hotel was full). Beer is on tap and you can help yourself.
Entertainment was okay, but tell me any hotel where you could say that it was fantastic? We made our own entertainment and visited many of the local bars which are plentiful and staff really friendly – Especially Ideal Cafe (beside the Bellair Hotel) and the Blue Palm (near the Rhodesland shopping centre).
I would definitely return to this hotel. It is great value for money and at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Want to stay at the Hilton? Then pay double the price for B&B....

The first thing I must stress is this hotel is no where near 4 star never mind 5 star standard.
Positives - The pool is nice and large, lots of sun beds and it is within 20 metres of the beach (although you do cross a busy road).
Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean.
Drawbacks - The food is embarrassing. We are talking chips, pizza more chips and more chips for lunch and then tea. No Greek food, no fresh fish. They do put on a bbq at lunch but this is not enough to save a terrible buffet.
Alcohol is watered down and all free drinks finish at 23:00.
Rooms are small and basic with room service doing a minimal job on servicing the rooms.
Entertainment is non-existent. As a 26 year old male, I would have been happy with any form of entertainment. But is simply involved two Greek guys bringing in a dj set and playing cheesy 80's music all night. No shows, No entertainment in the slightest.
Overall this hotel would be fine as a 3 star room only to crash at during the day as the pool is nice and is close to the beach. If you consider Wetherspoons or Yates wine bar in England to be 'gourmet' cuisine then I would recommend staying all inclusive.
However, if you are looking for a good 4/5 star hotel away from stereo typical British tourists (tattoos, chips, pizza, chips and more chips) Then I would say try the Hilton which is just 100yards down the road and looked lovely!

My boyfriend and i stayed in Oceanis july 08, first impressions, hotel was extremly clean and tidy and staff very pleasant. all inclusive for the first few days was great although staying for 14 days meant having the same food to eat at least 3 days running soft drinks are terrible and if you decide to buy decent brands your looking at 3 - 4 Euro a piece..
although sunbeds are free if you didnt get up at 6 am and put down your towel then there is no chance!!
not a great deal to do near buy (unless you want to buy sunglasses or fridge magnets) as thats all the shops sell. there is NO mini golf course ATALL and apart from breakfast lunch dinner you have spinach pies to look forward to as this is all they serve in between meals..
I would not bother going again!
Quite disapointed.
