nice hotel but walls paper thin you can hear everything reception staff not at all helpful but the information office on the beach was great food was very bland great pub up the road called the tartan arms we were a group of 26 aged from 3yrs to 60 years and the nightly entertainment was very poor if we were not with a group,of people we would have been bored to bits. warning if you are flying with ryanair on the way back you can only take 15 kilos in main luggage we were 15.6 and had to take things out and some people had to leave suff there in fact ryanair is [--] and we will never fly with them again i hope they do go bust!!!

Never written a review before but feel obliged to this time. First the positives, the hotel is well situated, 2 minutes from Fenals beach, which is beautiful. Bus to Lloret is regular, cheap and reliable. Linen is changed regularly, towels daily. Maids are cheerful, careless about leaving rooms open for lengthly periods whilst they clean the whole corridor! Kids entertainment good.
Surrounding area has lots to do, Marineland is fabulous. Medieval Knight well worth a trip.
Now the negatives, hotel is full of loud and obnoxious brits complaining about everything and getting as drunk as possible as quickly as possible each day.
The food is best at snack times and if you are vaguely fussy you will struggle as will children who find the menu's restrictive, you will have to eat out if you don't want to starve.
It's very noisy at night around 1-2am when the yobs come back in after partying in Lloret!
This could be a nice hotel if the people staying there were nicer and not the architypal brit abroad, which gives us all such a bad reputation. If you are pleasant to the staff they are nice in return and go out of their way to help.
I wouldn't go back, not because we had a bad holiday, we didn't we had 10 lovely days, as we spent virtually all of the time after the fisrt 2 away from the hotel and the slovenly people.
The pool was clean when we were there, but the smell of sewage was disgusting, try the 7th floor pool and jacuzzi area....quiet and lovely.
Don't go here if you are middle-class, white-collar as you will hate it!

We really thought the hotel was nice. Yes, the food was a bit monotonous but very nice and edible.
We can't complain about the food, and there was plenty of it. The room was cleaned every day and towels replaced. However, it is correct that everytime the room was cleaned the maid left the patio door open. On one occasion I reported to reception that the maid had pulled my mothers room door nearly closed but it hadnt shut and was open on our return. We never got an apology, just a
"I will give them a note" (WHO)?
On the last day we had till 10am to vacate our room. When we got upstairs at 9.55am the door was wide open and the cases on show and the maid chatting along the corridor. This was worrying as all our things were packed in the cases ready to leave.
We didn't use the pool area so can't comment on that.
if anyone gets a single room like my mum, i pray you don't get the one she had. room number 464.
It was a glorified broom closet next to a supply cupboard. the piece-de-resistance to come is the frosted glass window that wouldn't lock was a view of like the "Die Hard" lift shaft. We thought Bruce Willis may appear any minute. it was disgraceful. The window appeared to look out onto 4 whitewashed walls. as she was on the 4th floor there was a sheer drop and music echoed from the roof top down the tunnel which her room appeared to be inside. It could be classed as a fire hazzard.
apart from that we enjoyed ourselves as the resort was nice.
The drinks although free were watered down with all the ice that was put in the thin tall glasses. The hotel was close to the beach and we found it a very nice resort. The bus was outside and ran every 10 minutes to lloret bus station which cost 1 euro 5. It is cheaper to go to Tossa de mar by bus which you catch from lloret station.

where do i start !! Im a single parent of 3 lovely girls with the eldest being disabled aged 12,11 & 6 (all to the same father for any judgemental ppl out there.) I struggled 2 pay 4 a summer holiday 4 us at the ROYAL BEACH HOTEL 4 *s NOT. Thought we were in 4 a real treat bit of R&R not at this place so many ppl hard to keep track of your children which was my own fault 4 choosing a large hotel. still doesnt change the fact that the pool is to small for the amount of swimmers.Food was edible but not very appetising we lived on chips salad fruit . After a few days into our break as we had vowed to make the best of a bad situation what do i happen to stumble on in the resturaunt yes u might have already guessed a big fat juicy ROACH wriggling around on his back NICE if you dont mind that kind of thing being just a metre away from where theyve just cooked yr food bearing in mind it was only 1 but i cant help thinking theres more where that came from .didnt complain because i felt quite nervous because the waiters had saw me see the roach as i moved the chair that they had placed over it & they didnt look 2 pleased with me then i heared a lot of shouting in the kitchen in spanish and i still had to stick it out 4 another week at the resturaunt as i couldnt afford 4 us 2 eat out unfortunatly. Now on 2 the rooms not 2 bad very small 4 4 of us think it was a twin room with 2 smaller beds added beds made every day & towel change which is what i would excpect would have liked the floors of our tiny room 2 b cleaned everyday but left dusty . I read another persons comment about queing for soft or alcoholic drinks they got it spot on more often than not yr in a que of about 10-15 ppl i do that at tesco a couple times a week didnt think id be doin it on holiday every time we needed a drink. I honestly cannot tell any good points oh u could try the tabletennis table if u can get on there & u have 2 buy yr own bats or lots of fighting if that what u call entertainment . Best points thank god my sister &her family came with us we had 2 make our own fun ,the fellow brits we met who didnt like it either & the spanish sunshine . Dont be misled by 4*s 2 at best stick 2 wot u know i know ive learned my lesson . DONT BOTHER

what a horrible hotel !!! believe the low ratings because it is the truth i cant believe i wasted so much money on a dreadfull place, where do i start,a shabby old fashioned hotel, cockroaches in the restaurant by our table, the food was awful ,the children hated it, my son jumped in the pool one morning and retrieved a glass ,the pool area is filthy and the pool, i didnt see them clean it the 2 long weeks we were there, one morning my sister went back to her room after the cleaners had been and her door was open, the lager was served in a small plastic beaker and was awful, spent half the holiday queing, the nearby shops were tacky and the owners were pervy, there was fighting or arguing every other night, not a hotel for families it was the most awful holiday ever!!!! i went to the 3 star hotel esplai in callella last year and it was 100% better than this hotel i cant believe travel agents sent families there the best of the evening entertainment was watching our little ones dancing to the party songs. and for the teenagers they were so bored , the 6 children we had with us were counting down the days.

firstly i am a happy go lucky sort of person and try to look on the bright side so i will start with the good points as i will run out of room on aspects of this A.I "holiday"
1 rooms were very clean with fresh linen and towels every day
2 reception staff were very helpful and polite
3 breakfast, lunches and snacks were good if repetitive(although i didnt risk the eggs or bacon which looked very greasy)
4 kids entertainers were pretty good
5 the beach was a stones throw and one of the better beaches although a touch gravelly and we found some good local bars and restaurants
unfortunately there were plenty of bad points
1 as a family we ate out seven of our nine nights because the dinner was similar to the lunch but not as good a quality.it was not 4 star standard!!!
2 the bar staff were obnoxious to the point that they declined to give my 11yr old son an extra coke for his younger sister because of the crazy drinks policy which in my view is designed to reduce the amount people drink.they did however perk up when any young women came to the bar.i paid an extra euro to get a decent bottle of lager but my wife complained that the wine and shorts were watered down.in the end we only drank soft drinks in the hotel as there was not much point drinking the so called alchohol

I read other peoples comments before going and must admit i was a bit nervous.AND I HAD EVERY RIGHT TO BE! WE WENT FOR 2 WEEKS AND COULDNT WAIT TO GET BACK.WE HAVE 2 KIDS (4 & 11) who refused to eat in the restaurant(dont blame them so did we) if you are booking this holiday thinking nice fresh salads, chicken, potatos.FORGET IT.the salad looked recycled from 3 days before, kids meals was awful, (deep fried cauliflower) chips every day breakfast ,dinner and tea.please think carefully before booking. im not a snob but this was a 2* at very best.this was 4 beds crammed into a small room with just enough room to get in the wardrobe.plus the beach in llorett is like gravel!!!!!! my advice is to book flamingo benidorm hotel at benidorm, fabulous.

MY FRIENDS ROOM WAS BROKEN INTO ON THE 1ST FLOOR THE EVENING BEFORE WE LEFT. PACKED CASES STOLEN, PASSPORT, PHONES ECT, TOTAL DEVASTATION. THE MAID LIKES TO LEAVE YOUR PATIO DOOR OPEN AFTER SHE CLEANS IT , IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU PLEASE REPORT IT. THIS IS NOT A 4STAR HOTEL, MORE LIKE 2. WOULD NOT GO BACK HERE.

I expected something really awful reading some of the other reviews.
We have had groupweekend holidays 3 years in a row using HTop group hotels in this region of Spain (Callela Amaika 2006, Lloret 2007 Royal Star).
The hotels are all fairly well maintained. Rooms have been cleaned properly, fresh towels each day if needed - room cleaning staff friendly and helpful. Good showers - very powerful so watch out if you overdid the sun!
Walls are a little thin but was not bothered by anyone, we were on holiday and relaxed by day and went out at night. The bedroom doors self close so have tendency to bang loudly!
Reception staff were quite chatty and were helpful at this hotel.
Bar staff seemed a bit distant and distracted and did prefer to talk amongst themselves in Spanish - my tip for the waiters would be for them to smile a little more.
People staying at hotel from many different countries. The weekend we stayed there was good mix and it was not all stag and hen parties - was predominantly families.
(last year when we stayed at Royal Star it was mostly hen /stag).
Food - let's be honest - it is not gourmet, a bit repetitive and of the hotels I have stayed at ALl Inc. the least choice I have seen. But there was always something you could pick out each day. As is typical of the hotels I have seen in Spain / Balearics, food is recycled - meat one day appears at snacks or casseroled the next day. Charmingly labelled each day one item as British - this was amusing as it was normally something like chicken or chops - multinational if anything!
Try the food as some items looked odd but tasted lovely like the ratatouille and some of the vegetarian dishes.
The lager they serve is yuk - has an odd taste, the all inclusive spirits do seem to taste watered down but maybe that is not such a bd thing if you are having a few.
Pool area was clean - plenty of sun beds.
Roof terrace with small pool, jacuzzi and more sun beds and a bar is very nice.
This is not a stunning hotel but mor is it a bad one - don't go expecting fantastic food - it is adequate.
Lots of places close by to eat and shops if you fancy a change. Roxy's other the road do a lovey cheese & ham toastie - nice after a night out on the town!

Just returned from a four night stay! Best feature is locatiion, beautiful beach nearby, great chilled beach bar to the left of bay. Food good but limited, drinks ok but some ques. Staff funny and helptul. For what we paid we could not complain. Rooms nice, maid service good. I went for a break with good company which makes any holiday, but the hotel added to this.
I would go again! People that have underated this hotel probably have mis-behaved or dont respect the spanish way of life, which is an insult to the spanish. How do we deal with rude un-apprecative foriengers? I saw the staff deal with such and still managed a smile.

WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THIS HOTEL ITS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL BUT A 2 STAR IN MY EYES.
The reception staff are rude in the day and night not very helpful i asked for a first aid box because i had a blisters on my leg he didnt now what i was talking about total waste of time.
They food was ok but it was the same crap everyday but the chips were nice and the snacks are the same as well chips burgers salad small sausages very boring so dont go all inclusive.
The lager is crap dont have it, in the night they had a couple singing oh my god it was spain got talent they were very crap indeed the place was empting out slowly over two hours very funny indeed.
If you turn left out of the hotel and head straight up to the petrol station and you will see the supermarket on the right, go there for your cokes or lager or snacks they are well cheaper then the shops around the hotel they rip you off so much.
The rooms need some major work tiles coming away from walls and floor and the blankets had cig burns in them and the pillows they give you are a joke.
The shower head was disgusting it needed to be cleaned and the bath was rusty was total mad about this, they was people who just stayed by the pool for seven days it gets boring.
Fennels beach is lovely go there its better then the hotel pool.
DONT BOOK THE HOTEL ITS VERY BASIC AND THE WALLS ARE SO THIN YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING SO NO MORE

I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Royal Beach hotel this last week and was very sad to leave as i could have easily stayed an additional week. The rooms etc were clean to a high standard as expected. I give most credit to the hotel staff from the hotel manager to the waiters, all of which were exceptionally polite with great personalities and made conversation to make you feel most welcome, a group of people, who I do actually miss. I recommend this hotel to people of all ages and groups, there is something to cater for everybody.

can i first say the only reason i gave this hotel a 1 is because there was no zero mark there.
I have just returned from a one week stay at this so called 4* hotel, when i booked the holiday i booked allocation on arrival, so to make sure we ended up somewhere nice i paid extra money to guarantee 4* accomadation. i really do not know where to start so i will just make a list of good points and bad points
good points
1, toast and jam for breakfast
2, soup
3, entertainment staff for the kids were very good
now to the bad points
1, every member of staff at this hotel were ignorant to the point that they most of had a degree in ignorance
2, food was inedible and always cold but not to worry as they just tell you to go and use the microwave,
stayed all inclussive,
Breakfast - bacon not cooked properly, you do get the odd egg with your grease, beans cold,
Lunch - Soup with bread roll was the only thing that was edible, oh and chips were ok
Dinner - was that bad went out for meal 6 out of the 7 nights, they did do a kids buffet but that also was very poor.
4, The Bar - If you dont mind waiting 20 mins every time to get served at the bar then this is the place for you, and then, you are only allowed 2 drinks at a time, so if you have kids with you they have to que up aswell, when you eventually get served you are given a small plastic cup that holds less than half a pint, SO ITS BACK THE END OF THE QUE AGAIN
5, most of the bar staff are more intrested in leaching over all the girls instead of doing there job, i personally met some girls who were quite frightend by some of the bar staff as they would not leave them alone and kept constantly saying rude remarks.
6, The rooms are very small, we paid for 3 adults as my son is 12, but he was just put on a very small camp bed next to ours.
7, we never got much sleep all week because the walls must be paper thin, one night at 3am i was woke up with people having a party upstairs, at 3:30 i phoned reception to complain about the noise and was told it will be sorted straight away, at 4:10 i phoned reception again to complain, this time as i was saying the they will still having a party he put down the phone, i did try to ring back but my phone call was never answered and nothing was done about the noise. i did complain the next day but the reception was not intrested.
I COUL WRITE SO MUCH MORE ABOUT THIS 2 STAR HOTEL BUT JUST WANT TO TRY AND FORGET ABOUT THE WEEK NOW.
I will say one more thing, everyone i spoke to in the hotel the week we were there were disguted with the place, so i am baffled how anyone can write a good report about this place
