On reading some of the reviews for the Royal Beach hotel I went along with some apprehension, but I did not need to worry. When I got there I was welcomed by the receptionist in a jovial manner, which I went along with, and on entering the room I was not disappointed as I found it to be 4 star quality , all be it at the lower end of 4 star and the food set out on the buffet at meal times was perfectly fine considering what I had paid. What some people fail to take into account is that we are the foreigners in Spain and we dont have the right to expect them to have perfect english.
If these people took the time to learn a few words of spanish before they go there, they would find the people much more friendly. I do not speak spanish but can make myself understood, normally.
On the whole I would like to thank the hotel and Sunshine holidays for a very pleasant few days there. I would recommend this hotel as good value for money and just say you get more than you pay for. Some of the British people did let us down by overdoing the all inclusive drinks and not closing doors quietly in the middle of the night and you can hear the people in the other room conversation and televisions , but that is down to inconsiderate people.

The entertainment team have such a good personality and ensure that all guests feel included! The entertainment is good for all of the family.
The hotel is clean and is close by the Fenals beach and a 15 minute walk from the centre of Lloret. This hotel has everything there is even mini golf beside the hotel and a mass of shops in Fenals and then more in the centre.
The night life is good for clubbing in Lloret centre. If that’s not your scene then a disco is held in a bar called the Robin Hood until 3 o’clock just opposite the hotel.
It does not affect the sleep of others or the residents of the apartments beside it would complain!
It’s a family friendly hotel with different activities for different ages. There is a friendly atmosphere and there is many of the visitors go every year because of the brilliant experience.
The food was OK, sometimes the buffet food was luke warm and well picked over, but very good if you were prompt at meal times.

I stayed at the hotel over Christmas and I enjoyed it very much. The barmen were very friendly and the entertainment wasn't bad. The only problem was the food it wasn't brilliant and the Gala meal was very rushed and cramped. The pool looked clean and healthy could not go in because it was winter. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I thought a nice touch was the outside glass lift. Good nightlife and friendly locals.

I love this hotel, its in a city that is beautiful and so are all the rooms. The employees are a joy to speak to, never rude and the receptionists were very helpful indeed. I have stayed at the Royal Beach twice and have always found the food to be enjoyable and never cold.
I went in March so the weather was cold but you cant blame weather on any body you just make the best out of a bad situation. Lloret is a place to go with youngsters who want alcohol and not a family holiday as its far to lively and upbeat for a relaxing holiday.
The locals are polite and there are plenty of bars to chose from. The locals even like you to go to the local bars which is very different from any where else that I have been.
The hotel is very clean and very well maintained. Full credit to the hard workers in The Royal Beach, I couldn't do the shifts that they are doing! Many thanks for the fun and laughter that you supplied us with. See you next year.

Stayed there for the New year, never again! Must be about the worst place in Spain.
Food was cold and unedible, the tables were jammed next to each other on the British side (yes, 2 sides - 1 for the British and 1 for the overnight tour buses - they had bottles of wine and water on their table, we were lucky to have knives and forks on ours!
At the bar only one till was serving so it took about 20 mins to get a drink. Even the staff would not eat the hotel food, they went over the road to the Robin Hood to eat.
Worst holiday ever!
Same food everyday which is cold, we paid all inclusive but had to eat out every day.
This holiday was a waste of money, everyone we had spoke to was not happy at all.
I stayed in the Royal Star in Oct which was great and that’s why we decided to come back for the New Year - what a mistake!
We got constant abuse from the Spanish the men would not leave us alone felt very unsafe and constantly worrying.
Would never go back to this hotel and if you are going Lloret I recommend you go Royal Star and never go in Dec or Jan, nothing to do, nothing really open and its really cold.

When I first went into the hotel it looked lovely, food smelt nice as well. Staff were very friendly -never nasty.
The people who work in the bar were always nice to children.
Food was lovely, couldn't fault it.
Rooms were nice just right for what you need it for.
Cleaners were also friendly work hard every day.
The only problem was if you were full board you couldn't get a drink from inside where you had your food, as all-inclusive could.
Overall I thought the hotel was very nice and would go again.

Stayed for two weeks over the Christmas period at the Royal Beach and found it a clean hotel and most of the staff friendly but apart from that we found the menu was much the same each day with little variety.
The food served was mainly cold and you had to warm it up in the microwave, the choice of food was very poor having to eat dried up or sometimes under cooked food.
The above was made even worse by having to sit about 9 inches away from the next table.
The gala Christmas meal was self service but they only had one sitting and you had to fight to get your first course then start again for your second and third course. By the time you fought your way back to your table the food was cold and uneatable.
Other things were having to drink out of plastic beakers which the children used and having to buy your water when we were all inclusive.

The hotel staff were friendly. The young barmen were easy to talk to. The rooms were nice but quite a squeeze for three people.
As we went in October the pool was very cold and we never used it once but we did enjoy the jacuzzis.
The food wasn't very nice so we often went in for snacks instead of meals.
Having a card was quite annoying as I kept forgetting mine when I went to the bar, a wrist band would be easier.
The nearby beach was nice but the sea was very rough!
The nightlife was amazing and very good value. The locals were all friendly.
We are persuading me and my friend’s parent to take us back next year.

What a dump, this place is the verruca on a homeless man's foot. To its credit the hotel was clean but that's it, the only positive in a place full of negatives. If you have any sort of class (or don't scrounge benefits from a 'bad back') then give this place a miss. The dregs of the U.K come here, the food and drink may be all inclusive but burger and chips that make Mcdonalds look like the Plaza are not what counts as food. They don't do a 'right good spread' they do a 'sh*te bad spread'. It may not be, in total, all the hotels fault, they could change the colours or buy in some comfy chairs and decorations but instead they probably realised their target clientèle have about as much life as a blank sheet of A4paper and have opted to save the £10.50 for a tin of dulux. We liked this place so much we left after 2 nights and headed straight to Barcelona where we were more than impressed.
Honestly, you will spend at least a week after being here trying to shower the smell of the hotel from your skin while erasing the images of the socially unacceptable that have taken the Great out of Great Britain from your mind.
Of course if you don't have a job, have a large unplanned family, go to the doctors for clean needles, think a condom is a water balloon, are blind with no sense of smell or taste or live in a caravan (with no NI number) then rock your socks off!!!

Although we originally booked to stay in the Top Royal Star we were told when we arrived that we had been reallocated to the Royal Beach, we did not object to this and were taken by taxi to the Royal Beach.
On entering the hotel the smell of smoke hit you, although there is a no smoking policy except in certain rooms the doors to these rooms are wide open so you can smell it right through the hotel. We then went to our room which was roomy and spotlessly clean. The time now was about 1.00am, it was, and then we realized what we had let ourselves in for.
When we booked we booked for half board but the hotel also catered for all inclusive, had we realized that to most of the people on all inclusive. This meant drinking from morning until night, never venturing outside the hotel and then running amok through the corridors until 4 o clock in the morning screaming, shouting and banging on doors, and being allowed to do this by security that could see what was happening on c.c.t.v, we would never had entertained staying there. (I must point out that these 'people' were on the whole Brits of all ages).
The food also left a lot to be desired. The breakfast was thrown onto trays, the eggs piled up, and the bacon cold and fatty. The tables were only cleared now and again so if you were later going in you could not find a clean table. The staff in there were not very accommodating. As for the evening meal, we tried it once and then ate out after that.
All in all this is probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in and we have stayed in a few all over Spain. The staff are not very helpful (but can you blame them the way some of these so called civilized guests behave, they belong in a zoo not a hotel) the only redeeming aspect was the cleanliness of the rooms and the cleaning staff were really friendly and helpful.
If you don't care about noise, poor food or bad behaviour then this is the hotel for you, otherwise I most definitely do not recommend it for a holiday.
Best holiday ever!
Loved the free drinks (Vodka sun + Archers & lemonade = Best drink ever!)
The food was lovely, a good variety - and their bananas are massive!
Staff were all friendly and made staying there even better!
Only fault was how cold the pool was, but may be the fact we went in the winter!
Would definitely go again.

Probably the worst place I've ever stayed.
The rooms are average, reasonably clean but with walls so thin you can hear everything (yes EVERYTHING!) going on next-door and in the corridors.
Reception staff very slow and not exactly forthcoming with information. As we didn't have a rep it would have been nice to be told about safe deposit boxes, TV remotes and excursions etc. Reception area always very cold and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.
The restaurant was cramped and the food always cold. Very repetitive with obscure and random labelling. Staff constantly clearing tables clattering plates loudly making it feel more like a school dinner hall.
The only bar was a huge room filled with uncomfortable chairs and almost completely dark most of the time. Bar staff were cheerful but not very discerning when it came to serving obviously very drunk people. Range and variety of drinks available for all inclusive adequate. Cocktail of the day changed once a week.
The pool area was quite small with no gaps between the sunbeds. Noise carried, particularly at night, due to area being enclosed by buildings on all four sides.
But the worst thing about this hotel was the guests. I'm ashamed to say the behaviour of brits abroad was appalling. Other reviews have likened this hotel to 18-30's but unfortunately those behaving badly were all 40+. Drunk by lunchtime, throwing each other in the pool fully clothed, running naked round the poolside, shouting in the corridors late at night and using x-rated language continually. No wonder that we have a bad name abroad.
This is definitely not a family hotel and not one I will visit again.

The staff were very helpful. There is quite a bit of noise at night but we did have several birthdays in our week and Scottish football fans. We will come again.
