MY FRIENDS ROOM WAS BROKEN INTO ON THE 1ST FLOOR THE EVENING BEFORE WE LEFT. PACKED CASES STOLEN, PASSPORT, PHONES ECT, TOTAL DEVASTATION. THE MAID LIKES TO LEAVE YOUR PATIO DOOR OPEN AFTER SHE CLEANS IT , IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU PLEASE REPORT IT. THIS IS NOT A 4STAR HOTEL, MORE LIKE 2. WOULD NOT GO BACK HERE.

I expected something really awful reading some of the other reviews.
We have had groupweekend holidays 3 years in a row using HTop group hotels in this region of Spain (Callela Amaika 2006, Lloret 2007 Royal Star).
The hotels are all fairly well maintained. Rooms have been cleaned properly, fresh towels each day if needed - room cleaning staff friendly and helpful. Good showers - very powerful so watch out if you overdid the sun!
Walls are a little thin but was not bothered by anyone, we were on holiday and relaxed by day and went out at night. The bedroom doors self close so have tendency to bang loudly!
Reception staff were quite chatty and were helpful at this hotel.
Bar staff seemed a bit distant and distracted and did prefer to talk amongst themselves in Spanish - my tip for the waiters would be for them to smile a little more.
People staying at hotel from many different countries. The weekend we stayed there was good mix and it was not all stag and hen parties - was predominantly families.
(last year when we stayed at Royal Star it was mostly hen /stag).
Food - let's be honest - it is not gourmet, a bit repetitive and of the hotels I have stayed at ALl Inc. the least choice I have seen. But there was always something you could pick out each day. As is typical of the hotels I have seen in Spain / Balearics, food is recycled - meat one day appears at snacks or casseroled the next day. Charmingly labelled each day one item as British - this was amusing as it was normally something like chicken or chops - multinational if anything!
Try the food as some items looked odd but tasted lovely like the ratatouille and some of the vegetarian dishes.
The lager they serve is yuk - has an odd taste, the all inclusive spirits do seem to taste watered down but maybe that is not such a bd thing if you are having a few.
Pool area was clean - plenty of sun beds.
Roof terrace with small pool, jacuzzi and more sun beds and a bar is very nice.
This is not a stunning hotel but mor is it a bad one - don't go expecting fantastic food - it is adequate.
Lots of places close by to eat and shops if you fancy a change. Roxy's other the road do a lovey cheese & ham toastie - nice after a night out on the town!

Just returned from a four night stay! Best feature is locatiion, beautiful beach nearby, great chilled beach bar to the left of bay. Food good but limited, drinks ok but some ques. Staff funny and helptul. For what we paid we could not complain. Rooms nice, maid service good. I went for a break with good company which makes any holiday, but the hotel added to this.
I would go again! People that have underated this hotel probably have mis-behaved or dont respect the spanish way of life, which is an insult to the spanish. How do we deal with rude un-apprecative foriengers? I saw the staff deal with such and still managed a smile.

WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THIS HOTEL ITS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL BUT A 2 STAR IN MY EYES.
The reception staff are rude in the day and night not very helpful i asked for a first aid box because i had a blisters on my leg he didnt now what i was talking about total waste of time.
They food was ok but it was the same crap everyday but the chips were nice and the snacks are the same as well chips burgers salad small sausages very boring so dont go all inclusive.
The lager is crap dont have it, in the night they had a couple singing oh my god it was spain got talent they were very crap indeed the place was empting out slowly over two hours very funny indeed.
If you turn left out of the hotel and head straight up to the petrol station and you will see the supermarket on the right, go there for your cokes or lager or snacks they are well cheaper then the shops around the hotel they rip you off so much.
The rooms need some major work tiles coming away from walls and floor and the blankets had cig burns in them and the pillows they give you are a joke.
The shower head was disgusting it needed to be cleaned and the bath was rusty was total mad about this, they was people who just stayed by the pool for seven days it gets boring.
Fennels beach is lovely go there its better then the hotel pool.
DONT BOOK THE HOTEL ITS VERY BASIC AND THE WALLS ARE SO THIN YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING SO NO MORE

I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Royal Beach hotel this last week and was very sad to leave as i could have easily stayed an additional week. The rooms etc were clean to a high standard as expected. I give most credit to the hotel staff from the hotel manager to the waiters, all of which were exceptionally polite with great personalities and made conversation to make you feel most welcome, a group of people, who I do actually miss. I recommend this hotel to people of all ages and groups, there is something to cater for everybody.

can i first say the only reason i gave this hotel a 1 is because there was no zero mark there.
I have just returned from a one week stay at this so called 4* hotel, when i booked the holiday i booked allocation on arrival, so to make sure we ended up somewhere nice i paid extra money to guarantee 4* accomadation. i really do not know where to start so i will just make a list of good points and bad points
good points
1, toast and jam for breakfast
2, soup
3, entertainment staff for the kids were very good
now to the bad points
1, every member of staff at this hotel were ignorant to the point that they most of had a degree in ignorance
2, food was inedible and always cold but not to worry as they just tell you to go and use the microwave,
stayed all inclussive,
Breakfast - bacon not cooked properly, you do get the odd egg with your grease, beans cold,
Lunch - Soup with bread roll was the only thing that was edible, oh and chips were ok
Dinner - was that bad went out for meal 6 out of the 7 nights, they did do a kids buffet but that also was very poor.
4, The Bar - If you dont mind waiting 20 mins every time to get served at the bar then this is the place for you, and then, you are only allowed 2 drinks at a time, so if you have kids with you they have to que up aswell, when you eventually get served you are given a small plastic cup that holds less than half a pint, SO ITS BACK THE END OF THE QUE AGAIN
5, most of the bar staff are more intrested in leaching over all the girls instead of doing there job, i personally met some girls who were quite frightend by some of the bar staff as they would not leave them alone and kept constantly saying rude remarks.
6, The rooms are very small, we paid for 3 adults as my son is 12, but he was just put on a very small camp bed next to ours.
7, we never got much sleep all week because the walls must be paper thin, one night at 3am i was woke up with people having a party upstairs, at 3:30 i phoned reception to complain about the noise and was told it will be sorted straight away, at 4:10 i phoned reception again to complain, this time as i was saying the they will still having a party he put down the phone, i did try to ring back but my phone call was never answered and nothing was done about the noise. i did complain the next day but the reception was not intrested.
I COUL WRITE SO MUCH MORE ABOUT THIS 2 STAR HOTEL BUT JUST WANT TO TRY AND FORGET ABOUT THE WEEK NOW.
I will say one more thing, everyone i spoke to in the hotel the week we were there were disguted with the place, so i am baffled how anyone can write a good report about this place
The best thing about this place...

The best thing about this place is that it is clean.....thats it.
The staff have had their personalities removed and have all passed with honours an intense IGNORANCE course.
All inclusive ??? We lasted one night. The lager was unbearable so I moved on to Vodka. After 8 Vodkas I then left the bar walking straighter than walking in. Food was a little better than the drink but only just eadable.
You have to queue for your drinks but ensure the receiption staff give you your credit card when you check in or you will have to queue in the bar ...get to the front and get refused by the hostile bar staff. You then go back to receiption to get abuse from the receiption staff.
Rooms - clean . The maids did a good job.
I was only there 5 days , 5 days too long. Best thing about the hotel was leaving.
Will not be using another HTOP Hotel until they get better staff.

As a 60 yr old with what i have been told is a good sense of humor, and prepared for anything , off i went with my best pal and a 40 yr old son who can eat for England . We had read the review's ,but went anyway, the Hotel was lovely, in a good location , 2 mins from the beach, bus stop outside to take you to lloret, staff were great , very helpful , we were put in a room overlooking the road which was noisy, but they changed it for a room overlooking the pool without question .so far ---so good , we arrived too late for dinner but went for snacks which were good , beefburgers chips salad . the second night it was lovely ham , carved off the bone , we thought we were on a winner , but after that it was downhill all the way food wise , it was awful , cold , same for lunch as we had the night before , My son departed into the robin hood bar over the road and ate out , and my pal stuck to salad , me ---i tried different things , refusing to be beat , and sat and watched a little girl nearly choke on a chicken bone ---its the first hotel i've ever been to a hotel with NO childrens menu . There is no way this hotel is a 4 star , in fact its only just in the 3 star group , also the reviews about the noise in the hotel are right , people were complaining that they couldn't sleep for it , ok , so i've had a moan , not like me at all , but had to have my say ,
our stay was quite pleasant. it...

our stay was quite pleasant. it is nicer than the royal star up the road. the facilities are all on the ground floor ie.restaraunt, bar pool etc. which i feel is ideal for young families. childrens entertainment is the best i have seen with outdoor swings and ping pong table and 2 pools. inside there is a pool table, video games room with loads of choice and internet access. the reception was excellent at booking us in and the room was clean. toiletries included are shampoo, bath gel, soap, combs and hairdryer(a little slow but works). night entertainment is reasonable (singers, karaoke and disco).bar staff are lovely and are so busy. the cleaning staff are lovely with change of towels every day if you want. 1 let down is the food. if you are choosey like me you can survive on the snacks in between meals(hot dogs, burgers chips etc) or go across the road to quik save for english food snacks (pot noodles tin meat etc) and while you are there he gives the best exchange rate for sterling.overall i was happy and did not have any problems at night with noise but i did take ear plugs just in case.a taxi for 4 costs 48 euros 1 way from/to girona airport. local bus outside every 20 mins to lloret town 1 euro 5 cent(lots of shops). robin hood bar a little expensive but good across the rd.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning on april.
I must say this was the worst holiday of my life.
The reception staff are unco-operative and not very helpful. The walls must be made of paper and we didnt sleep a wink in 3 days with drunk idiots shouting and screaming all through the night through the hallways, with no telling off from reception staff. My shoes were stolen from my room ( disapeared after the maid had cleaned) and the reception staff couldnt care less. The food was ok, there was a wide variety for breakfast but for dinner it was a bit too spanish and varied with no sort of allround food that everyone could enjoy. If you stay half board you dont get any special discounts for drinks at dinner or in the evenings.
There were a very limited amount of activities to do and most of the time we were bored stiff. I would not reccommend this holiday to anyone under the ages of 40 who are looking for nice resteraunts and bars etc... infact, i would not reccoemend this location to anyone, it was awful. The only upside was the scenery which was nice, although the beach was a pebble beach and you could barely walk on it in bare feet.

Have just returned from a week at this hotel. I must admit that I wa quite anxious after reading some of the reviews as me and my boyfriend were just looking for a nice relaxed break but I needn't have worried. The hotel was extremely clean and the maid service was excellent. The facilities in the room were fairly basic apart from the shower/bath which was fantastic!
The food to be honest wasn't great, quite repetetive and didn't taste that nice but it was edible and it certainly didn't spoil our holiday in any way, however it has to be said that the hotel is designed mainly for all inclusive passengers and there were no drinks on offer at the evening meal for people staying half board whch was a bt annoying.
the pool area seemed to be kept clean and tidy, the pool was open but you had to be brave to go in as it was outside and therefore quite cold at this time of the year.
We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful at all times, we arrived very late at night nd they offered us the snacks which were in place for the all inclusive passengers which we felt was nice of them.
A lot of the reviews said that the hotel was very noisy, our room was directly above the disco and therefore it was noisy in the evenings, however the music stopped promptly at midnight and despite a number of teenage footbal teams staying in the hotel, they too were quiet come midnight and therefore we had no major problems, we managed to sleep each night and my partner is a very light sleeper!
As for the local area, most things are open at this time of year (the water parks were closed but apart from that we experienced no 'off peak' issues). A word of advice in the local shops, always haggle the price or just begin to say you are not intereste and begin to wal off because they will almost always lower the price to get your custom.
I would reccommend that people take a trip to Barcelona (we took the bus which was fairly expensive at 8.65 euros each way per person but it was worth it).
We also went to girona which was nice but only took a few hours including a meal, the bu dops you off in the back streets but head towards the river and over the other side is the main street and the cathedral which is beautiful.
The other days we stayed around lloret, castle st joan is nice to visit and there is a bowling alley etc near by. there is also a good crazy golf course opposite the hotel.
In the evening we mainly stayed either in the hotel bar or in a bar across the road called the Robin Hood but if you are looking for clubs then the town centre is the place to go (about 10-15 min walk) the beach is also very close 5 mins away max if you walk slowly.
Hope this helps!

We have just spent a week at the Royal Beach in Lloret Spain. The hotel its self was clean and the maid service was excellent. The food got better as the week went on. My only complaints are the noise from drunken residents (groups of young lads and girls) and the lack of entertainment on a night. In the week I spent there I think there were two nights out of seven when it was provided. The other nights were just a basic disco which got a bit boring.

Half term and I was expecting the worst from reading reviews. No problems clean rooms, friendly staff and great location for beach. Food lots of choice, one meal out them all was not great but always hot and fresh. Yes the dinning room was split in two but that was an advantage with the pushy French! The pool was to cold to go in but could use indoor pool at Royal Star. We where supposed to be in the Alexis Hotel but thank god we where moved, I would not put my dog in there, unless you are a fit mountain climber you could not make it up the hill from the beach, met many unhappy people from Alexis who spent the day at royal Beach they just booked all meals in advance at the Royal and got Bus home to Alexis. We visited all of the H Top hotels and the Royal Beach was the best by far but still not worthy of a four star. You get what you pay for!

Overall H Top hotels offer excellent value for money. Hotel was clean & friendly, however sometimes the food was only warm. Lots of choice though. Would i stay there again? Definately. It is only about a 15 min walk to the center although there is bus stop & taxi rank outside the main door. Closest beach is only a few mins walk away.
