I have to say I went here a year and...
10 / 10
Apr 2004, Miss C McDonald

I have to say I went here a year and a half ago and it was one of the most enjoyable holidays we have been on. For hygiene and relaxing aspects it was well worth 4*, All be it food and entertainment did make it more a 3*. It’s always a cheap deal when you go they’re through, whatever travel agent, and it’s what you want to make of it. The food is only cold when it’s been out for a while... So the answer... Wait till you see fresh stuff coming out. If you don’t want to see loads of kids and noise then don’t go on holiday where there are children try 18-30's or over 60's for the more miserable. Kids club was great Seo was really nice and the adults games during the day broke it up well.
As for the bar staff being rude, Well if you worked there 16 hours a day and had queues of people moaning, then so would you be unless you showed them a bit of respect. I personally found them really nice once you did show some appreciation and learned to enjoy their humour. I’ve seen worse attitude in some high street shops back home put it that way. Rooms were great big and clean. Yes the down side was the noise at night we had real problems a few nights but part and parcel wherever you go. If you phone reception it gets dealt with (although imagine my horror when I went away earlier this year to a totally different place and met the same couple that caused the trouble!!!)Overall it’s a great place and its what you make of it for the price.
I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a good family holiday at a reasonable price. Seems like someone people who are a bit fussy want to stop looking for the cheaper end of the market holidays and fork out for what they think they deserve as typical moaning brits ! Anyway I’m back off there in 5 days so I will enjoy anyway :o)

The Royal Beach is a good value hotel...
6 / 10
Mar 2004, Mr K S

The Royal Beach is a good value hotel but the rating is not and should not be 4 stars. the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel overall was good as was the food. However, the reception staff were unhelpful and on occasion, rude. The problem with the hotel being such good value is that it does therefore attract some unsavoury characters. At times, you felt as though you were at Butlins or worse. On the first night we were there, we were awoken 3 times by drunken rowdiness (unlimited drinks are included at the hotel!!)
Lloret itself is lovely and Barcelona was only 7 euros return by train. We nearly paid 80 euros for a coach excursion to Barcelona until someone told us about going by train for 10% of the price!
Heavy smokers and drinkers will think the Royal Beach is paradise but if like my family, and myself you do not smoke or enjoy getting legless every night, stay away!

The hotel was nice and the rooms were...
7 / 10
Jun 2003, Miss V Moore

The hotel was nice and the rooms were clean, I went for a week in June 2003 and the hotel pool was packed with children thrashing around and jumping in. Its not the place for a nice relaxing swim.
The staff were not the most friendly iv ever met but we had no problems with them. Only on the last day when the manager rang our room and shouted at us to be out at 10.00am when we were under the impression of 12.00.
We did not enjoy the food it was awful! The snacks during the day consisted of toast, chips, and cold hot dogs soaking in some unexplainable juice and burgers that were boiled and red in the middle.
Apart form the food side of the hotel it was great, you could always get a sun bed round the pool no matter what time it was.

We holidayed at the hotel royal beach...
4 / 10
Jul 2002, Not Specified

We holidayed at the hotel royal beach for two weeks last July on an All-inclusive package, this meant that everything was included food, drink, entertainment etc. The cleanliness standards of this hotel were generally to a good standard everywhere. The food was a little basic, but the hotel supported a dine around programme where you could eat/drink at its sister hotels; Royal Star (llorret) Alexsis (Llorret) and also Osiris (Callela). The entertainment was some what lacking in the daytime you had to be twelve or under to join in (although reception claim this is not the case) and judging by the evening entertainment you also needed to be under twelve to enjoy it. If you have young children and want a good value all round family break then this is probably the hotel for you. If you are a couple or a family with older children beware!! There are lots of children running about (and shouting) all day and all night.
