" Fab Holiday "

Had a fantastic holiday. Staff so friendly and can't do enough for you. They work so so hard and never fail to smile. There were a couple of slightly miserable looking ones but to be honest i would be with the way some people speak to them! They speak all languages but mostly everyone spoke english whatever their nationalities were. Majority English but also alot of Germans, Danish & Russians. Everyone mingled and they did water polo everyday which lots of people joined in and it was good for people to get to know one another. Snorkelling was good but i'd rather let hubby get on with that!
I was worried that it wouldn't be hot enough in oct but it was scorching. I love the sun and heat but it was hot at around 38, 40deg everyday. I did wonder during the week if they ever see clouds!?
Hotel was spotless and food was fab. Bottled water given out constantly which was great.
Hubby and I did both get poorly tummies but i wouldn't blame this on the hotel. Pharmacy over the road 2mins walk max and got tablets (immodium didn't even touch it) and then was sorted.
We have 2 children which we didn't take and i would think twice about taking them because of the heat and the highly possible chance of getting diarrhoea.
But all in all a truly great holiday and a fantastic hotel with beautiful grounds.
I would book it now!
PS - if you're a blonde female (or just an attractive female) be prepared to have lots of attention, however they're not too over the top but you will get served first at the bars.
PPS - the chef in the itailian resturant looks like Peter Andre!

" Book It!!! "

My partner and I along with our 2 year old son stayed at the Hilton Sharks Bay in January 2009 for a week. We had a fantastic time! Could not fault a thing.
Hotel was spotless. Rooms cleaned everyday. Cleaner even made cute animals out of the towels each da which our son loved. TV in the room was great- satellite TV showing movies not even in the UK yet. Pools immaculate. Beaches were gorgeous, clear sea was great for spotting tropical fish! Bottle banks filled with ice and bottles of water scattered around the hotel grounds which were great for the heat!
Food was very varied - even a little side of the restaurant set aside for children. Candlelit atmosphere every night and light entertainment whilst you ate.
Staff were so friendly- couldn't do enough for you and they certainly didn't hang around for tips- I even saw a staff member refusing to take a tip off a guest!
Also a convenient shuttle bus to Naama Bay which is well worth a day out for the shops/ bars and the beach. Just watch the street sellers- they do their best to sell you something, but there are armed police patrolling the streets and they do seem to keep them in check if they start hassling you.
The only thing I will say is order a drink without ice... I heard some people complaining of upset stomachs. Couldn't have been the food because we were fine and we tried everything! But their water is not as clean as ours!
Also their is a newspaper service as you lie around the pool but they charge £5 for a newspaper!! We only bought one once as my partner didn't work the money out until after he'd paid!
Felt I had to write a review now (Oct 09) because we have just returned from a week in Mallorca and it was the worst holiday I have been on- so shockingly bad (standards of hotel etc) in comparison with this one!!
Keep up the good work Hilton!

Advice: Stay at Hilton Sharks Bay

" excellent holiday "

This hotel is a must stay staff are all very friendly and food was great, loved it and am looking forward to going again. We did not book transfers and my advice would be to do it through the hotel as it is much cheaper and safer, stay away from blue and white cabs they are mad.Hotel have own taxi service and to the airport it cost 60 le pounds about six quid english money. Our flights were with kiss airways and they were great no problems or delays.Fantastic place.

" Well done Hilton "

The hotel is in two sections: the original, which goes right down to the beach, and the new annex, which is over a very quiet road. They charge £17 per room to upgrade to the annex. The rooms are nicer but there isn't really alot wrong with the room you get in the foirst place. You can use all the facilities of both sites regardless of which bit you stay in. My advice - save your money.
The food was beyond expectations - a good choice, well cooked and well presented.
The beach is fantastic. The snorkelling is better than Barrier Reef or Isla Los Mejeures in Mexico.
All the staff - and I mean all - are brilliant. So friendly, helpful etc.
Weather was hot hot hot. Got to 40 every day we were there in early June. God knows what August is like!
Well worth using the hotels courtesy bus into Naama Bay. Full of life aftert he relaxing air of the hotel.
All in all - brilliant. Well done Hilton.

Advice: Perfect for snorkelling, relaxing and getting a great tan.

Activities: Go on a boat trip to Ras Mohamed and don't miss a night in Naama.

" Excellent Red Sea Hotel "

In late February early March 2009 we stayed for 12 days. Having previously stayed at Hilton Waterfalls and Holiday Inn Sultan Gardens which were good we considered this to be the best. We always want a good hotel with good house reef for snorkelling.
Location – very close to airport with easy transfers yet you are hardly aware of the airport noise. The hotel is on a very long thin site about 1 kilometre long which fronts on to the Red Sea and backs on to the airport boundary. The older part is near the sea and the newer part is near the airport. There is a free shuttle bus every 15 minutes round both parts to the beach.
Room – we asked for a room in the older part half way between beach and dining room and were very happy with our room on the first and top floor situated in a very well designed garden landscape with beautiful flowers and sea view. There was virtually no airport noise. We did walk up to the new part to look round but it is a much less attractive site and far from the sea with its own dining room that looks more like a works canteen. We did not see inside the rooms and they may be better but we were very happy with the standard of ours in the old section.
Food – there was a very good choice in the attractive dining room. Very good fresh fruit, tasty spices and sauces and not a hint of tummy problems. Service was very efficient and friendly. You could pick up unlimited free water bottles at any bar or restaurant.

Advice: Sharm is vast with something for everyone. Chose carefully and you will be satisfied.

Activities: Excellent for winter sunshine and scuba/snorkelling

" beautiful...... "

Just returned from an 8 night stay at the Hilton hotel and I can not fault anything.
Staff were helpful and very pleasant.
We were upgraded free of charge into a deluxe room on the 'new' side. This part was much less cramped than the 'old' side although both sides were lovely.
Heated pool was lovely, with a slide on the side- provided hours of fun!!
The hotel also offers free unlimited entry to the water park you just turn up and show them your wrist band. They do have a poster advertising it in reception although its not always on display?!
Food was nice- you could always find something to eat.
The hotel was very clean and I would not hesitate to return.

" Hilton was overall very nice "

I have just returned from a weeks all-inclusive stay at the Hilton Sharks Bay. I went with one baby (10 months), one 4 year old , my husband, and my parents. We flew with Eurocypria airways and travelled with Olympic Holidays. The flight wasn't the best and the food was disgusting on board on the way their, not so bad coming back, i would recommedn you take a pack-up for the flight.
The hotel itself was very clean and the staff very friendly, on arrival at the hotel as we were late they laid on food for us all and provided drinks and it was a very nice gesture as it was nearly 1am. As we booked as one family with 2 rooms we thought we were going to be near each other, however, my parents were placed on the 'new' side of the complex whilst we were overlooking the beach on the 'old' side.
The old side seemed much more cramped, although still very nice. The restauarnats were very busy and the overall feeling was a rushed manic feeling at meal times but on the other side of the road is a new half to the hotel with 3 very large pools (2 with slides and pool bars), deluxe rooms and a very laid back restaurant. Overall if i were to stay here again, which i would do, i would eat all meals and swim on the 'new' side. their is a distinct lack of lifts in the hotel and those that are their didnt work so on occasion we did struggle with the pushchair.
The entertainment which was laid on was ok and plentiful, day or night, but if your the type of person who likes to watch hotel entertainers then this place wont be for you as they were certainly not worth staying in for. To say the least it wasnt great, infact quite boring and the entertainment staff didnt seem to realise that its not an 18 - 30 holiday place as they themselves were young teenagers. As we had a young family we did suffer the in-house entertainment on a few occasions but in all honesty i think my kids would have rather watched the tv. The entertainment staff seemed to bother only with the younger teenage/early twenties guests which was quite off putting.
The rep was great, Jenny couldnt do enough for us and was their when needed. Their was a lot of variety with the food each day and none of my party suffered any stomach upsets or illness whilst their. We did run out of baby milk whilst we were thier but a 3 minute walk up the road is a very good pharmacy which stocked all baby items. We found the supermarkets to hold very limited baby items but the pharmacy's were very good.
The beach was very nice as was the beach bar and the overall layout of the building was very good. We did go on a glass bottom boat trip with our son and we did buy the DVD of the trip (which was filmed whilst we were on the boat). This cost approx £12
for the DVD but it was a load of rubbish. The quality was shocking and it was a complete waste of money. The Sinai dive club which is located on the Hiltons beach was where we booked the trip and paid for the dvd but i would really recommend not to buy this dvd. The trip itself was very good (despite the divers underneath the boat giving us the finger whilst we were looking for fish, not the friendliest bunch)but it was worth the money.
Our room was a family room which didnt have a bath, just a shower but we didnt miss the bath. It was kept very clean and our cleaner made us towel animals everyday which my son loved to see. We had a haridryer, tea and coffee facilities, tv, alarm clock, 2 terraces, large wardrobe, sofa bed and childs travel cot.
As far as tipping is concerned, we found that the staff, when helping you, didnt hang around long enough for you to give them one so we left some money for the cleaner but thats it. Their is an onsite money changing facility with generous daily opening hours which provided a much better rate of exchange than what we could have hoped to get in the UK so its well worth taking english cash and changing whilst there. We didnt take any dollars and we didnt need them either, the people we came across wanted Egyptian pounds or GBP.
Overall, I would definately go back to this hotel again although i would probably request a room on the 'new' side of the complex and i wouldnt hang around to see the entertainers. It was a very good holiday all things considered.

" me and my boyfriend came for a week... "

me and my boyfriend came for a week the beginning of septmenber! Hotel room was lovely, movie channels and air con, which was useful because i spent two days with a nasty stomach bug, don`t know whether it was the food, ice or anything else??
Good service at restaurants and bars, although only small selection of spirits availiable!
Food at the beginning of the week seemed good, but as the week went on the food seemed all a bit rehashed and samey!! my boyfriend was most upset at their chinese themed night which seemed like the most bizarre chinese food ever!! the pizzas in the restaurant downstairs were good.
Staff were very friendly, hotel clean, food not great!

" My boyfriend and i stayed here for a... "

My boyfriend and i stayed here for a week. we thought as we paid alot of money to stay here it would be out of this would. how wrong were we. the staff at this hotel are very nice. the rooms are just standered. and what can i say for the food. SHOCKING. i didnt really eat all week as the food was nasty. what ever was for dinner was all mixed together the next day and that was luch.
I also have to say about the cleaning staff. i would watch what you leave in you room, as my neckles went miss from the bathroom. (are safe was not working at this piont) my boyfriend had to kick up a fuss for then to do any thing, they looked around are room moving every thing (which we had already done) they then walked out the room and talked to some one. come back in and found it on the side.!!! so i say just be carefull if you do stay. i will never stay here again. 10/07/2008

" Just returned from other great... "

Just returned from other great holiday at HSB. As always the Egyptian staff were extremely helpful and friendly, it is these hard working guys that make the hotel so special. The food was enjoyable, with a different menu every night but some people may think there is a lack of presentation in the layout of the buffet. The only exception was a Pina Colada at the pool bar, served warm, even with ice and the milk curdled on the top. The towel art was excellent this stay, especially the man watching TV.

The hotel is starting to look in need of a facelift (especially the bathrooms and the jetty at the beach) but with everything kept clean and with the great weather and staff, this was not a major issue. One evening we visited the new extension across the road, with one of the managers and were impressed with what we saw. The centre of the complex is a very large pool area, complete with beach, slides and two large bars. The rooms are on two floors around the outside of the complex. They were large with both a shower and bath and all rooms had an outside area overlooking the pools. Both of us cannot wait to return again in November and hopefully switch from our normal room behind reception to the new extension.

Also once again the onsite dive centre was very accommodating with my requirements. The guides are all well trained and always have your safety in mind. As mentioned above the jetty at the beach needs some maintenance as some of the cells have split. This is not a problem if you are just snorkelling but in full dive gear you can easily loose your balance.

Overall and excellent week and great value for the money, we cannot wait to return.

" Just returned from the egypt, will... "

Just returned from the egypt, will not be ging back again!. I am by no means a moaner, i'm 43 and my partner is 32. I save up for a holiday, and expect to get what i'm promised by the tour operator and i like atleast a bit of nightlife.
The hotel was very clean and the staff where excellent but that was about it. The entertainment was nil, the food was not up to scratch (we ended up ordering pizza to the room on several occasions). The breakfast was ok (you can't go wrong with poached eggs and cornflakes). The buffet was dissmal. When they had chicken breast on the menu all you was given, was 3 small slither's (the size of chicken nuggets) and about a dozen french fries (McDonalds type). I didn't go on holiday to audition for oliver twist (asking for more while in a queue). My partner spent ten days on and off the toilet with the runs. The time of serving was by the clock (if you asked for ice cream by the pool bar 1min before 12pm, you didn't get it or if you tried to get a drink at 1min past 12am at the sunset bar)
We put clothes in the laundry and my partners white linen trousers came back stained with a note stating they tried to remove the stains but couldn't. (they were brand new and had never been worn, but had put them in the laundry to be pressed). Another white blouse came back stained pink.
The hotel taxi service was best for travelling into namma bay (very curtious) but once in naama bay, we were targets for the locals out to fleece us for as much money as they could get. all they were interested in was if you was english (every one of them says they have a relative married to someone near to where you live!!!!!!!!), they think the english are soft touches. My partner drinks malibu and tai maria, this was scarce to find anywhere.
The trips we booked were brilliant. Flew to cairo, quad bikes and desert trip, couldn't fault. My main reason for going to sharm was doing my padi open water (brilliant diving) but the rest was such a let down because my partner was left alone for 3 days around the pool dodging the ball from the water polo and volley ball (they always managed to hit her wherever she had her sunbed).

" Just returned after 2 weeks, our... "

Just returned after 2 weeks, our first time in Egypt and it won't be the last, the hotel we could not fault it, the food was great with varied menu's for all tastes, and this did include, roat beef and yorkshire puds, the only thing we can complain about is the evening entertainment or the lack of it, the animation team! well it seem to be that they were more interested in getting people into naama bay to all the big clubs,"they must be on commission from these clubs", one night a friday night the so called disco stopped at 10 past 11, alot of people complained, when we asked them what was going on they told us they could not play any music after midnight! obviously while talking to them they had no intrest, unless your a young female with low cut tops and short skirts, the hotel next to us had an open air disco till 2 am, its the lack of entertainment that lets this place down, "ANIMATION TEAM, GET YOUR FINGERS OUT AND GET IT SORTED". the staff i could not praise high enough, the rooms always clean and tidy, we had a small problem with the red ants on our balcony, we phoned reception and they were there within 10 mins sorting it out.
We had a great time, just a shame about the entertainment, or the lack of, we will go back but may choose another hotel in naama bay where you have the choice if you want it livley or quiet

" We booked the holiday in Egypt with... "

We booked the holiday in Egypt with bated breath as we had only heard mixed reviews but still wanted to go. We had a fantastic time. the staff were great, service could not have been better. the food was always plenty of choice.
the temperature was between 37 and 40 every day. We are planning to go back in November. We have never had such a relaxing holiday.
If you are bitten by ants or mossis, or even sunburnt, there is a shop in the hotel that sells oils, they are fantastic and work much better than any chemical preparation.
