I stayed at the Hotel Edison for 7 days with my two teenage daughters and my husband. I found the room, on the sixth floor, to be very comfortable. Beds included. Yes the bathroom was small but so are all the bathrooms in New York - I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt and found the Edison to have way more room then the Hyatt. The pillows weren't great, but I still slept well, and that's what your doing in your hotel, sleeping. The location was by far the best - so close to everything and the staff very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The foyer of the hotel is an art deco masterpiece, amazing, unfortunately this is where my delight of the hotel ended.
Our room was on the 20th floor so quiet, however the room was shabby. The bed was small and uncomfortable and sloped away from the headboard. The bathroom was small, tatty with a huge crack in the wash basin that had been smeared with silicone filler. The shower was adequate, just!
It was warm and we did have adequate air conditioning thankfully. We used the diner situated off the main foyer which was cheap and adequate.
The best thing about the hotel is its proximity to Time Square and the Deli next door!!!

Room very small and cramped for 4 people, and frequently kept giving each other electric shocks whilst in the hotel for some strange reason. This did not happen outside the hotel. Bathroom very small and crack in bath. Also the shower worked very slowly and was almost impossible to wash hair in.
Windows were not sound proof at all and seemed as if they were open in the night because there was so much noise. Opposite hotel was several garages were large trucks were kept in the day and then wee taken out at between 11 and 12pm every night. This created a huge amount of noise and due to the already noisy streets of New York and the fact that it was near time square made it hugely noisy.
The windows let a draft in and therefore the rooms were cold and the radiator/heater made a ticking sound when on. TV was not tuned correctly and as a result was discolored and annoying. Holiday was amazing, shame the hotel was a piece of ****.

2nd time in New York - first time at Hotel Edison, definitely won’t be the last.
From leaving my house to reaching the hotel everything went right. I had researched a lot of hotels in New York and, due to my interest in Art Deco, happened upon the Hotel Edison - what a delight. The foyer was superb with original plasterwork and decoration, obviously looked after very well and on top of that the staff were more than helpful, rooms cleaned daily and, having requested a high floor due to the hotel’s close proximity to Times Square, extremely quite.
Not much to say about New York except it’s a place everyone should visit, at least once! So much to see and do that, having already been twice, I still feel the need to return.
We were there for 7 days and managed to take in a show (The Lion King at the New Amsterdam Theatre), a concert (David Byrne at Carnegie Hall), as well as the usual sight seeing (Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Central Park, The Village, Flat Iron Building - I could go on . . . and on. . ).
Look out for the Tick Tock diner - excellent service and food (ask for Joseph) and a lovely little bar on Sullivan Street (Just off Bleeker Street in The Village) called Shade Bar.
Thank you Kuoni and thanks to everyone in New York for making our visit so memorable.
