Comfort Inn Central Park Hotel

OK - so the rooms ARE small, tiny, even minuscule, but mine was clean, quiet (with efficient window air-conditioning), and the convenient Central Park West location is a great, great plus. Not far from Lincoln Center and many different sorts of restaurants in the neighborhood. One small (again!), slow elevator; and the fitness room (no free weights) is large enough for ... one person. rooms were small but clean and neat! you definetly need to unpack! the location was awesome! walk outside hotel and Central Park is within 100 yards! not to mention the famous Dakota (John Lennon's old apt) one block way! i have 2 words for this hotel ..... Absolutely Fabulous!!!!

I had read such awful comments on this site I was apprehensive about staying with the reservation I'd made, but decided to risk it. What is a trip to NY without some sort of 'experience' to talk about later? I go to NY as often as possible and have stayed at a variety of places, mostly in Times Square. Gave our room away first night of reservation and billed us for it. Switched rooms from reservation. Dirty. So small you could not have your suitcase open if you wanted to walk around. Noisy.

Stayed at the Comfort Inn on 71st street in the midst of brownstones. This place gave us a comfortable and safe feeling of being in NYC on the upper west side. Great restaurants nearby, and handy subway stop. Short walk to Central Park and Lincoln Center. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Would stay there again. Away from the hustle and bustle. This small hotel is on a residential street with 2 min access to Central Park and all the restaurants on Columbus. A few minutes to several different subway lines. Our room was quiet and had a view of courtyards with plants and birds, and absolutely no traffic noise! The room was small, but the bathroom terrific with an outstanding shower. This is an OK hotel - newsflash: You get what you pay for. If you are expecting 4 star luxury, you will have to go to the Hilton or whatever, but be ready to pay a LOT more.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn on 71st for three nights on May 23rd, 24th, and 25th and had a great stay. From priceline we got a rate of $120 per night including continental breakfast and felt we really got our money's worth. Great location in a quiet, nice, neighborhood near the subway. The room was clean (though pretty small), with a private bathroom (again small) with good water pressure and hot water in the shower. Comfort Inn, CPW was a great find. We had a nice stay in April 2005. What the hotel is: a small boutique-style hotel with 8 rooms per floor (14ish floors tall). The hotel is unobtrusive in the neighborhood; you would walk right past it if you didn't know it was there which adds to the experience. 71st is a residential street, and you can easily blend in as living in the upper west side. Anyone who whines about this hotel either has unrealistic expectations or isn't familiar with NY prices. I stayed here for 5 nights in April 2005, and will definitely stay again. Pros: The room I had was in the -01 line, corner room, clean, great light, comfortable bed. For one person, who only uses the room to sleep, this is a good deal, particularly for the location. The Comfort Inn Central Park West met my expectation for a reasonably priced NYC hotel. I was in town for three nights for my son's auditions to various NY music schools, so location and price were paramount. The room with two beds was small and the bathroom even smaller. A large person would find the shower stall more than adequate, but positioning oneself at the sink and toilet might feel cramped. The room was generally quiet.
