We have stayed at the Beekman twice and can recommend it. Yes, it could do with serious updating, but it's still great. The rooms are great for families - most are suites with a kitchenette, very comfortable, and with 2 TV’s - which we found a godsend when the kids couldn't sleep on our 1st night! The staff on the door are so friendly and helpful. There is usually a little wait at reception whatever time of day it is - not sure of the reason for this - maybe they're understaffed or their computer system needs updating but in general the reception staff are helpful. It's also in a good, safe neighbourhood - we feel safer walking around here at night than we do at home! Recommended, but avoid if you are looking for ultra modern and/or plush accommodation.
