The Beacon Hotel is situated on Broadway at West 75th Street. Central Park is practically just round the corner!
It is a bit of a walk away from the Time Square area, but a number of efficient buses run regularly and take you into the heart of the action and back again!
The hotel itself is lovely. Our room was spacious with two comfortable double beds. It also had a kitchenette, which was pretty handy for a cup of English tea after a hard days shopping!
There are many restaurants and diners near by, plus shops and theatres.
I would certainly return to the Beacon Hotel.

I have visited New York the sights, the sounds, the surroundings and the sensations, all were bewilderingly beautiful and the atmosphere was unforgettable.
The short time I had there was one full of food and fun. To experience the most of the city with what little time I had, I rose early and slept late. Breakfast was spent in one restaurant, lunch in another, and dinner in a third. I sampled Greek, Mexican, Chinese and Soul food, and to my delight, all of it was wonderful (I’m usually a picky eater).
The people were willing to help, and the shops were great - I even went to Macys’s and Chinatown.
I visited Liberty Island, Ellis Island, the Rockerfeller Centre and the Empire State Building, all in the company of friends.
When I went home at the end, my wallet was lighter, but my belt certainly wasn’t tighter. twice now in the last 3 years its an amazing city which just swallows you whole with the magnitude of buildings there is so many sights to visit its incredible from obvious ones such as statue of liberty and empire state building to walking through the hustle an bustle of china town an sitting in a park in the village. everywhere you walk you notice a place from a movie the food is great there as much if not more variety as the UK prices can vary though quite dramatically new York isn’t cheap it is best compared to London for prices all depending in what you do though .shopping is great there is so much variety in fashion every one is that wee bit different the big department stores are well worth visiting Macys, sax and Bloomingdale’s in if you really want to live it up try barneys you can max you’re credit card there with a pair of socks there is wide variety of things to do but I suggest must dos are walk through central park, visit central station see time square at night after catching a show and sit outside for lunch in trendy Soho area watching the world go by.
