This place has had its fair share of bad reviews but I went away with my girlfriend who has never been abroad in her life before and we loved it.
Cleanliness - 10
Food - 9
The 9 being because after the first week it got repetitive but I love pasta and was willing to try new things.
Staff - 9
Although the manager was sometimes strict on bar times for all inclusive when he was there at that time, the staff in general were really helpful, polite and committed to their jobs.
Pool- 10
The pool was awesome and always in summer quite warm. Chlorine used to clean it every night.
Location - 10
We didn't even have a car and still I enjoyed being where it was, so called 'middle of nowhere'. We used bicycles to get to the valley of butterflies which was quality, we used cheap bus to get to Rhodes and even Faliraki and Lindos. It was really relaxing and peaceful around the hotel rather than more popular resorts which would annoy me with noise and traffic etc.
Beach - 4
A generous 4 really because I hate how the sand there was like stones but the sea was still great. However I never went to the local beach because the beaches in Faliraki and Rhodes are much better, more like a 7. Lindos is the best by far which has to be 10. It is even hotter their longer.
Local bars were not as far as people made out, even people their made out the driveway was too long to walk down. Really you should know before you go if you would like it by reading this review, anyone lazy and wanting everything and I mean everything within a 1 minute walk away won't like the place. Anyone who is already used to a mile walk or likes to drive and explore new places should absolutely love it.
There are plenty of other attractions on the island. just do your research and find out where you need to be for your kind of thing. One more thing for anyone who likes clubbing, Faliraki is really good, great music and clubs with all types of latest music. Try to find the best ones one would be 'liquid club'. All the bars are very good too and cheap especially in a group.
Me and my girlfriend met a lot of good people at this hotel and had some great times, the night entertainment wasn't always existent but when it was the people there made it fun. the karaoke night was the best times.
I have probably missed a lot out but its better that way, their were negatives but the positives out weighed them massively and I just compare my holiday especially a bargain price holiday to my time back in crappy England not to the Caribbean, therefore my thoughts are grounded and not ridiculously picky. hope you enjoy it there if you go, I'm sure you will.

We stayed at this hotel and found it to be very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful but they would not give you any drinks of any kind unless you took back your glasses back first.
The manager was always watching what you ate or drank and if you were to have too much he would tell you that you could not have any more. He was very rude to a lot of the guests and my son was very frightened as he was quite violent if complaints were made about any thing. The food was very poor, you had no choice and there was only the basics. You had three meals a day nothing in between unlike every other inclusive i have stayed on. There is no air-conditioning unless you paid for it first. The entertainment was one Greek night and a karaoke night and that's it. You are right next to a power plant and pylons over the complex which we were never told about. There was no bus service from the hotel you had to walk a long way to get a bus into the town.
I would not advise any one to go there.

Well first of all do not believe all the bad reviews. This is a great hotel.
We arrived at 0630 and were met by the night porter (24 hr service), who took us to our room. (We left in the early hours too, again, the porter was there throughout and to wave us off).
We are a family of 2 adults, 2 children (9F, 11M). Admittedly the food if not geared solely to children, but we had no complaints; we believe that what is on offer, the kids will eat. The food was lovely, evening dinner was typical Greek salads every night, soup, with a choice of 2 or 3 main dishes; meat and fish, potatoes, pasta, rice, and veg, plus fruit, or cake for pudding. Breakfast was a choice (or you could have it all) of Greek yoghurt, cereals, fresh fruit salad, scrambled eggs, beans, bacon, sausage, cheese, and ham. Lunch was salads, fish or chicken, sometimes chips, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, pasta, vegetables; a very good choice for lunchtime meal. Afternoon snacks were cake and biscuits.
All inclusive included local drinks 11am to 11pm, which also included the local cocktail of the day between 9pm and 10pm. Tea, coffee, juices and wine etc were also available all day.
The swimming pool was lovely, and very big for the size of the hotel (I think 40 rooms) and very clean. (The rooms were also very clean and sheets and towels changed daily). There is a table tennis table and darts free. A pool table you have to pay for, as you do the 2 video game machines. You may also have to pay for the air con at 5 euros a day (not a lot - £3).
But, if you are not a greedy person you will love this place. There were complaints from people, that they could not order loads of drinks just prior to 11pm, but why would u complain?
Dimitrious, the manager, was lovely; as were all the staff, throughout the holiday. He was always accommodating to requests.
There was entertainment of Greek dancing on one night, karaoke on another, large screen football three nights and dj music every night from 7 pm till late. Although not fantastic entertainment, it was enough, and not 'in your face'. We met with some really lovely people during our holiday and spent our evenings chatting and socialising and made some good friends.
You can catch a bus from outside the front door of the hotel 3 times a day or in the nearby village of Tholos (10 minutes walk) once an hour into Rhodes for about £2 each way for an adult, takes about half an hour. Rhodes Old Town was beautiful. The village has shops and bars too, so there is plenty to do should you wish to do it.
(As for the pylons; yes they are there; but they sound just like crickets and you only see them if you are looking for them; you won't notice them unless you are trying to pick faults!)
We would love to go back to this hotel; it was perfect for what we wanted. Thank you Meliton for a lovely holiday!

Everything about this hotel is sh*t. It's in the middle of nowhere so i had to rent transport which added another £150 onto my holiday.
The food was disgusting so i had to eat out which added another £150. The drinks were also crap so that added more money. I couldn't tell what kind of meat i was eating probably donkey or something because i've never tasted anything like it before. The salad was covered in greasy oil then again so was everything else. I caught the manager rinsing dirty cups under the taps and not washing them properly.
The knife and forks were dirty. My mate had something like toilet roll floating in his drink. The beer was watered down; the lemonade was bitter and the spirits were like antifreeze.
The manager was arrogant and unhelpful he kicked me out of my room at 12 midday so i had no where to go till 5 in the morning when i went to the airport. I had to pay for my air conditioning. All he thinks about is money and he looks like Eric Pollard off Emmerdale. Tight arse ****. I reckon he deliberately spoilt the food so i would eat elsewhere and wouldn't be drinking his beer. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL EVER!!!

Well what can i say me and my partner totally agree with the reviews on the hotel, it was absolutely awful.
We booked last minute with what was meant to be all inclusive which was a waste of time. We had to eat out most nights because the food was terrible. It was covered in oily stuff which made it taste crap. The meat looked inedible, there were no puddings of any kind, no ice-cream and the drinks were well watered down. We ordered vodka and lemonade and trust me the vodka tasted like antifreeze. I didn't drink all the time i was there.
The rooms were like something out of the 60`s. They didn't wash our bedding once and you had to pay for air con how crap. The entertainment was crap too, what they had of it. Most of the week they just had a large tv on.
The staff were also unhelpful and miserable, and didn't seem to know anything when we asked them things. Another bad thing is that you have to check out of your rooms for 12 which we didn't know which is crap since our flight weren't until early hours of the next morning,
The only nice person there was this little guy who sits in reception at night, he was really friendly.
Put it this way the place was sh*t, its miles from anywhere and we ended up going out most evenings which cost us money we couldn't afford. You want to stay well away from this place if you want a good holiday I`d rate this place 0 not 1 DO NOT GO!!!!!

Holidays are what you make them. You turn up to a hotel in the middle of nowhere at 3am to be told we'd have to sleep on a sofa as there were people in our room.
After speaking to the manager who promptly put the phone down, him and his family are extremely arrogant and don't really care about anything.
5am we got a room, no air conditioning had to pay 5euros per day what a joke. Room basic.
Food please don't get me started. For an all inclusive holiday we ate out every day.
Lucky the pool is lovely, beach beautiful and we hired a car and drove around Rhodes which is a gorgeous island.
As the week went on different people got different treatment, this included prices of things.
Overall for 18years in the hotel business this complex is a joke. Thank god for good company and remembering my drivers licence.

It’s a shame that sites like this only seem to get people slagging places off rather than the people who enjoyed their stay.
We have just returned from a week all inclusive at this lovely spotlessly clean small hotel. Obviously when booking a hotel it depends on what you want, and if you want Blackpool don’t book here.
The Hotel is small, and 1.5K away from the beach and about the same from the handful of shops and restaurants in the village, so if you don’t like walking, and don’t intend to hire a car, but want to get out of the hotel then this probably isn’t for you.
The Family who run the hotel and the staff are very friendly (But not in your face), and will do pretty much whatever you ask them to.
There was only 15 guests in the hotel the week we went, and it was like having the place to ourselves (Just what we wanted).
The food was good to say that there were so few guests, and as usual it was a buffet style all inclusive menu for each meal there was at least two or three different dishes (not including the cold and salad dishes).
Breakfast was a bit poor, but then it is most places we go. To be honest we have travelled all over and all inclusive in Europe is pretty much the same wherever you go, it’s not a patch on the Caribbean.
There was not much in the way of entertainment, but some people can manage to make their own entertainment through meeting others - it’s called talking!
If you want a quiet hotel to just doss about for a week this is ideal, or if you want a lovely hotel, and want to use it as a base to explore the island then I am sure you will love your stay here.
This hotel is just what I would want from the Greek Islands if you want Blackpool with your full English Breakfast, then go to Blackpool, and leave places like this unspoilt for the people who will appreciate them.

Worst vacation ever!
We arrived at Meliton "smelliton" Hotel at 24.00 pm. The bus-trip from the airport to the hotel wasn't very far but little did we know how far this godforsaken hotel was from the beach or the city. Due to arriving at night, we couldn't see what we had arrived to or what was around us. At night time we saw the pool and thought that it might be a nice place - little did we know!
In the morning we were shocked to see all the junk around the hotel. Wires, industrial cables, smoke, old cars and tires dumped off on the property. We tried to get out of the hotel but the nearest bus station was 10 minutes away and the bus wasn't due for another 2 hours.
Taxi refused to come and pick us up because the hotel was too far away from the city. It took us 45 minutes with bus to get to a beach!
We asked the hotel owner where the nearest beach was - he told us it was a five minute walk from the hotel. It was a 20 minute walk and when we arrived to the beach it was covered with old car parts and other junk.
The food was so bad we had to eat out every day. The little shop the owner told us about was a little room in the back of the reception and had nothing for sale - not ever water or ice-cream.
The room was ok.
My advice is and I'm not being cruel or disrespectful to the owner of Hotel Meliton but - please do not ever go there.
We spent lots of money and had the worst time ever. We were so badly disappointed we couldn't wait to get out of there.

What can I say about this hotel. Don’t ever go there. Me and my husband had our anniversary there. We might as well have stayed at home.
The rooms were basic, shower was tiny and dirty. We dint get clean towels for two days. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Two busses came a day that’s when they turned up. Luckily me and my partner met a couple and their daughter which made the holiday better.
The food was horrible one evening it was fish covered in oil with potatoes and cauliflower that’s it. None of us liked it so that was it for us we had to go pay and eat out. Same thing all week, horrible food. We paid a/i but spent most of our well earned cash eating out.
One evening before the a/i bar closed I had 2 drinks on my table and went to the bar and was told I could not have another as I already had two. I was shocked. The manager and his wife were arrogant, all they seemed to care about was money not if you had a nice time.
My husband complained several times about the lack of choice of food. After that they did not speak to us, everybody there could not wait to go home and was deciding what they were going to eat when we got back. We were left hungry every day and went out to eat.
The only nice thing was the pool. oh yes my friend seen a snake in toilet and manager said it’s ok it will go by itself. I do not recommend this hotel.

It was the worst holiday we have had. Meliton hotel, if you can call it that, is small, basic and doesn’t cater for a/i hols.
Run by the owner and his wife. Mustn’t forget the mother. They were friendly but wouldn’t listen to complaints. I requested room with fridge, no fridge. Could have room with fridge 3 days later but would have to move rooms and pay 3 euros a day for it. 3 euros for a fan.
Food, or what there was of it, was mostly inedible. Breakfast was cornflakes, boiled eggs, fried ham for bacon. Some days you got scrambled egg or sausages, tea and coffee, orange juice.
Lunch was pasta and salad, burgers or meatballs, chips, peas and beans. Dinner was soup, bread, meat was very rare, chips again. Afters was grapes or melon. They always ran out of food. I’ve seen more variety in my local cafe.
Now the best or worst bit. The mother always sat in the dining room watching what people were getting to eat and how much they left. Helped herself to food. There were no covers on the food trays and were buzzing with flies.
No matter where you sat, they were all over you. Mother got up now and then to stir the food round the trays. Once, after sitting there, picking her nose, she took a cream cone from the table, that someone had left, and put it back on the tray. My advice, don’t go there. yuk.

The first sight you see approaching the Meliton is the power plant nearby with its chimney stacks chugging out smoke. We arrived at 9.30pm no one on reception had to go looking for someone to book in.
Room basic but o.k. apart from the smell coming from the bathroom floor. Went outside to see the pool quite nice apart from the view when you look up pylons and power cables buzzing with electricity. The hotel we found was about a twenty five minute walk from any shops a long a dimly lit path.
Evening meals was a choice between rice and pasta salads or some non descript meat covered in oil. As for entertainment through the week one night there was a karaoke and one Greek dancing night both were lack lustre and disappointing. Being all inclusive drinks were free until 11pm and not 11.01pm as I found out one night while I was still waiting to be served.
Most people we met there couldn’t wait to leave and would hire cars or jump on buses just to get out for the day. If you are thinking of giving this place a try please don’t waste your hard earned cash as we did.

Our experience of Hotel Meliton was nothing but commendable. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome at ALL times. The room was slightly basic but was clean, fresh and met all our needs. Our balcony gave us a lovely view over the landscape with the sea in the distance. PERFECT.
Some reviews have mentioned the power cables which were obvious to see but for us in NO WAY spoilt out holiday or our view. In fact they were soon to blend in with the overall beauty of our surroundings so in fact became almost 'invisible'. As for 'buzzing electricity'???? maybe a slight humming could be heard if you were in the still of the night with no other noises around, but really was NOT LOUD at all!
If you want a totally relaxing, chilled out holiday then Hotel Meliton is the place to go. Being a small family run business it is a very friendly place to 'chill out'. The food for us was very varied and we had no complaints. The bar times were very reasonable and once closed it was nice to know that you could get a good nights sleep with no fear of extended noisy drinking hours!
The swimming pool was lovely and kept CLEAN AT ALL TIMES, also the surrounding grounds of the hotel were kept spotless at all times.
The beach was about ten minutes walk away, but if you wanted a lift there was a service provided EVERY day to and from the beach by the owners themselves. Again adding that little extra touch to the friendliness of the lovely family who run this hotel. We found the beach to be CLEAN,SPACIOUS and certainly NOT OVER CROWDED by any means. The only thing to be aware of is the rather large pebbles which were leading down into the sea, however there were covered under the sea walk outs at intervals which were very helpful in avoiding having to walk over the un-even pebbles/stones.
There were regular buses to the main towns. but the local area had many shops, bars and restaurants etc. all of whom seemed very friendly and helpful.
This was mine and my partners first holiday away together so we wanted something special.... of which we found... We both have nothing but PRAISE for the family who run this hotel and all that goes with it. They made our stay a very HAPPY and MEMORABLE one. We shall certainly look forward to our return visit.
