Sport Reisch Hotel

Four of us have just come back from skiing in Kitzbuhel and this hotel was perfect. Fantastic location in the centre of town and a perfect 3 minute walk to the Hahnenkamm gondola.

The staff were all very welcoming and the food was delicious. We were staying there half board and we had a five course meal every night! The atmosphere was cozy and friendly.

I would definately stay there again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Kitzbuhel.

We have just returned from a weeks skiing holiday in Kitzbuhel where we stayed on a half-board basis at the SPORT REISCH Hotel. When we initially arrived there was a mix-up with the booking which meant that only one room had been booked for my husband and I, along with a couple of our friends. Thankfully the staff were very helpful and understanding and we managed to secure another room without too much difficulty. Despite arriving about 10pm, we were still served with a 5 course dinner which was a bonus because at very most we had been anticipating a cold platter in our rooms. The hotel is ideally located just off Kitzbuhel's main street and within a 5 minute walk of the Hannenkahm gondola and also the main meeting point for Ski School and the bus which takes you to the Kitbuheler Horn gondola. The rooms are located on 3 floors and have ample floor space for dumping all your ski gear at the end of a long day. There are also bed settees in each room which can fold out for children to sleep on but would be too much of a squeeze for adults sharing. The only minor thing I would have preferred is better drying facilities for wet clothing in the hotel itself as we just had to hang jackets, salopettes etc over the bath. There was a secure, heated outdoor shed however for skis and boots. We stayed in a second floor room overlooking the front of the hotel, while our friends stayed in a room with a balcony facing a courtyard at the back of the hotel. If given the choice, choose a rear facing room as I was awakened a couple of nights with drunks spilling out of the Londoner Pub directly opposite. Don't let this put you off though as I had opened the window to air a stuffy room and as soon as I closed my window I could no longer hear the noise outside. Breakfast consisted of a large and varied selection of fresh fruit, cereals, bread and cooked alternatives while the evening meal was a 5 course menu with meat / fish / vegetarian choice. Staff were friendly and courteous at all times and I was very impressed with the way in which the female owner tackled a group of over zealous apres-skiiers one evening who were a bit too rowdy in the bar adjacent to the dining room. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this hotel to other fellow travellers.

Stayed at Sports Hotel Reisch in Sept 2006 for a 2 week holiday. The central location of this hotel is a big plus factor - its right in the middle of the village and close to everything. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The dining areas are excellent and very inviting.

Our room located on the garden side of the hotel was very comfortable and spacious and well insulated from street noise. The bathroom however was a little disappointing and would benefit from a refit. .

The breakfasts were excellent but the dinners varied in quality. The hotel has an excellent a la carte menu and is very popular with non residents but the half board menu left one feeling a bit second rated.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the sport reisch hotel in kitsbuhel. The service was excellent as was the food.

Our room was of a good size and standard, we had a bath and shower and excellent views. Don’t be put off by the brochure saying small rooms, ours was a lovely size.

We would recommend this hotel and will return there ourselves.

We spent a week at the Sporthotel Reisch in Kitzbuhel in the summer of 2004. The hotel was very central and the rooms were large and well appointed. All the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent - 4 or 5 courses every night with numerous options. Overall we could not fault our stay and out of all the hotels that we have stayed at in Austria this is the best so far! Highly recommended!
