Tiefenbrunner Hotel

My husband and I have just returned from a walking holiday in Kitzbuhel. We stayed at the Tiefenbrunner because of great reports. However I think that some have been too generous with their rave reviews. Our room had a fantastic view from the balcony but the bathroom was so small that it was not possible to fully open the door as it hit up against the wash basin. Also for a 4 star hotel the toiletries provided were of poor quality.i.e. dispenser type bottles. No shower caps,Rooms are well serviced but are bland. The food buffet was average.... more

Very difficult to find fault with this place. We had a "junior suite" which was infact a full blown 1 berdoom suite with seperate entrance hall. Loads of space and a great view of the Hahnenkamm from our lounge. Spacious bathroom and plenty of storage space. Bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it was an "Austrian twin" so not quite a double and not quite two beds! Food was amazing - great buffet spread for breakfast including eggs cooked to order and the five course evening meal was well worth the EUR 20 supplement to upgrade from bed... more

Going 6th Feb 07 for my 25th stay. Every year there is a new renovation. No better junior suites in Kitzbuhel and nice food too.

This was our third stay in Kitzbuhel, over the New Year period and our second stay at the Tiefenbrunner Hotel. This is a lovely hotel. In the centre of town, in the pedestrianised area, you could not really ask for a better location. We have two children aged 11 & 8 and the walk to the ski lift is only short and no problem at all. We stay in a family suite which means that the children can sleep in their own separate room. The family suites are extremely spacious with loads of storage space. They are spotlessly clean. We stayed here over Christmas with our two children, great location right in the centre of town, but need to take taxi or bus to the ski lifts with the kids, as it's too far for them to walk. Room was disappointing - ours looked over the main street and was very noisy - ask for a room with a view of the Kitzbuhel Horn. Room just lacked character and the shower was one of the worst ever and this is meant to be a four star hotel. This hotel ranks as one of the best we have stayed in the food was excellant the staff did everything they could to make you feel welcome. The location was perfect right in the main part of kitzbuhel but with next to no outside noise apart from the church bells. If I had any criticism at all it would be that the beds are a bit hard and the pool area is a little dismal. I would certainly recommend it and would have no reservations about returning.

We (family of four) stayed for 11 nights in Jan and will probably return again next year. Having read previous reviews I was expecting rock hard beds but they must have been renewed as ours were just fine! This is a warm, traditional Austrian hotel with masses (felt like a beached whale after dinner every night) of great food. It is v centrally located in the old medieval (pedestrian) centre. hotel was lovely & very accomodating, fod was very good and lots of it. Must admit had trouble with beds, to hard. would return if beds were softer!

The hotel was charming, with beautiful decor and lovely food. However the beds were very uncomfortable. We went there on our honeymoon having been promised excellent service and a 'honeymoon surprise' unfortunately no matter how much we made it known, there was no surprise and the the staff didn't seem to want to know. Make sure you prepare in advance of your stay if going on Honeymoon.

Have stayed twice now with family to ski and walk around New Year. Excellant family service and fantastic location.
