Upon arriving at the Radisson Lexington in wonderfull New York City we were asked to wait half an hour for a non smoking room, considering we had been travelling for a good 9 hours it wasn't that much to ask. Onwards to the bar then which of course, with any hotel, was... more

This hotel is amazing we have stayed there twice now and staff, food and cleanliness of rooms are brilliant! I would recommend this hotel as it is in perfect location only a couple blocks from Bloomingdales and central station and Chrysler building! It also has a starbucks... more

As a location, it's very difficult to fault the hotel, close to Grand Central station and walk able to tourist attractions of Central Park, shops and Time Square. The room we had was what you might call, a little bit on the compact side to say the least, it was well kept... more

Not a bad hotel. We have stayed here twice when visiting New York. The first visit was Christmas 2004 and we had a fantastic stay. However our recent stay was a little disappointing. My husband had requested a smoking room; they are only on the 5th floor, which was... more

We stayed at the Radisson over Christmas 2005. The rooms were clean and average sized, although the double bed seemed huge! Overall very comfortable. We got a great deal via expedia and flights were with Virgin. The staff very very helpful and friendly. The concierge booked... more

The hotel was situated on Lexington avenue which is extremely central for shopping and all other tourist activities. The lobby was very impressive but the rooms where disappointing! The room was small which we expected, however the carpet had so many stains on it that I... more

Please stay elsewhere
There are much better hotels for your money in Manhattan. Old, rusty, hair in the bathroom, the hotel needs a major facelift and is no longer relevant in a market like NYC. The Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express are newer, cleaner and a much better option at a lower price. To avoid.
Not too bad
Location is good if you wish to visit the shopping of Fifth avenue - expensive. Bllomingdales/Saks Rockeller Plaza. It's also not far from Central Park. The bed was not good - one side of the bed very hard the other soft and no way to reduce the hard side. The genral room was fine for our purpose - clean with a safe and a bath. Noise level, even on the 26th floor, was still present, so I believe it best to ask what side of the hotel is quiet as if you are not used to it then you will be kept awake. Staff generally friendly and courteous aside from on check out bags are not allowed for any length of time in the lobby - they need to be checked in for 2 dollars a bag.
Another disappointing hotel in New York
Stayed 1 night at this hotel on business trip. Location is good, lobby looks OK, but room is small and desperately needs upgrade. For $200 per night in New York downtown, I didn't expect any sort of luxury but room feels like a motel.
Great place to stay for discovering New York...
Please ignore some of the harsh reviews on here, this hotel is in a fantastic location for tourists. The staff were great, the room had a new LCD TV and we slept well. The Halloween decorations in reception were fun and it was great to watch one of the World Series Yankees games in the hotel bar! Also, they give you free use of their computers in the hotel's 'business centre' to check-in online for your return flight home. We booked our five night stay through expedia and thought this hotel was good value for money. Concierge gives helpful advice in terms of getting around the city by subway and it was nice to have a Starbucks as part of the hotel! I would stay there again. Sure it's not probably going to be quite as glam as the Marriott or InterContinental hotels located close by and yes you get a small bathroom, but you are staying in one of the world's most amazing cities and this hotel is a great place to stay to discover New York....
An Excellent Experience
Boy, after reading these other reviews, I cannot believe this is actually the same hotel we just stayed it. From the bellman to the front desk, we were treated very professionally. I booked the room online, with the option to upgrade the day of arrival for just $19 more. The desk clerk immediately informed me that the upgrade was available. The bellman proceeded to bring our luggage right to the room. We had a large, spacious room for well below what any of the surrounding hotels were charging. The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were quite clean. They were fully stocked with all the usual amenties. We did hear noise from area construction on the street below. You are in a major city not in the middle of the countryside. You have to expect street noise. The location of this Radisson was perfect for our needs. We were within walking distance of the 5th Avenue shopping, Rockefeller Plaza, 42nd Street and Central Park. After our great experience, I would not hesitate to recommend the Radisson on Lexington.
Who knew the Radisson condones jackhammers until 11:30 pm when NYC ordenance says turn them off by 6:00 pm"
The friendly greeting, the small but comfortable room have fallen by the wayside as I wait for the jack hammers to cease. The non-commital solution provided by the Radisson Lexington's front desk that the jackhammers have to cease by 11:30 pm and that I can move TOMORROW are unacceptable. So much for the idea of making this my home for one week per month with my new job.
Short Stay, did what it said on the tin
We stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel bar was quite nice, but hey your in New York youve got to get out and about. We used this place as a base and managed to get around to all the usual tourist attractions with ease. So therefore id say it had a good location. Go and Enjoy, when your in New York why would you want to sit in your hotel room anyway.
Do not stay here
My sister, my daughter, and I went to New York City for a long, fun weekend of eating and shopping and decided to book the Radisson through Priceline (which listed it as a three-and-a-half star hotel, which it definitely isn't). When we first arrived we were greeted by perhaps the only friendly member of the Radisson staff and were given a key to our room. When we saw the room we were shocked at how small it was. The three of us could barely stand in the room. We went back down to the check-in counter and we told the woman that gave us our key that our room was too small for the three of us (there was only one bed) and we asked if there were any other available rooms. She told us to talk to her manager. When we explained our situation to the manager, she was incredibly rude to us. She finally "upgraded" us to a "larger" room on the 26th floor. They even made us pay an extra $30 a night for the so-called upgrade, which should have been free. She said she was charging us the fee because the hotel was sold out for the whole weekend, but it wasn't. (We didn't believe them so we had a friend of ours call the hotel to try to book a room for the weekend. She was told that they had availability!) This room was not much larger than the first one. It had one queen-size bed that my sister and I could sleep in, and my daughter had to sleep on an uncomfortable cot. The room was extremely drafty and it was dirty. The bathroom was tiny and in desperate need of updating. On our second morning there I was blow drying my hair when a fuse blew. We called maintenance and told them what happened and they sent someone up to fix it. They told us that the reason we blew a fuse was because no more that three people on our end of the floor could blow dry their hair at the same time! What hotel can't accommodate multiple people blow drying their hair at the same time?! And if that wasn't bad enough, the same thing happened the next day! When we were checking out, the man asked us if we enjoyed our stay. We told him the truth, no we didn't. He simply responded by saying "Okay." And when we asked him how to get to Penn Station---something any hotel worker in New York should know---he said "I don't know" and didn't even attempt to find out. And that wasn't the only time the staff was incredibly clueless and unhelpful. So, needless to say, we definitely won't be staying their again.
Wonderful customer service, great location
While this hotel could use some updating, it is in a perfect location in Midtown Manhatten, close to Times Square, the UN, and Grand Central Station. The staff are friendly and helpful, something you do not always get at hotels in New York! Rates are reasonable, food is good, and rooms are comfortable and clean.
Forget It!
What an utter disappointment. Superb location, in theory, but building work all day and all night just in front, We booked a de-luxe room that was so small there was no room for even an extra chair. The room was cramped and uncomfortable. On returning to our room at 5 in the afternoon, having left at 7. 30 it still hadn´t been made up. My complaint at the front desk met with a shrug of Rumanian shoulders , and I was told that if I thought the de-luxe room was bad , I should see the Standards. Our room was changed to one very slighly larger and we were offered a free breakfast, which sad to say was atrocious. The Dynasty Chinese Restaurant in the hotel was gloomy , dank and oh so very very bad. Do yourself a favour and avoid the Lexington. New York is a brilliant place for 3 or 4 days but what a pity such depressing hotels still exist in Manhattan.
