Rooms were of good size and well presented, although the advantage of having a village centre location with easy access to the lifts (when working) meant that the views from the balcony had a cluttered foreground.
The food was not the best we've had in Austrian hotels but there was a lot of variety and it was acceptable.
We went to do a little early walking in late May, early June but the weather wasn't up to it and the lifts to the hills only re-open in early June.
So it was lucky that this hotel has one of the best wellness suites I've experienced in Austria to date.
Three saunas, two steam rooms and a laconium, whirlpool and small swimming pool all in a large open area with relaxation areas off.
For those who want to keep their costumes on, there's another pool and sun area, but this is pretty basic when compared with the sauna area. Beauty treatments and private steam rooms/ whirlpool are available at an extra cost for the shy.
Would I stay here again, yes, especially at times when the weather is uncertain.

Very convenient hotel right next to gondola. Rather large and impersonal with outsiders using bars which were not up to 4 star rating. Very casual, large - a bit like being in an airport. Food was quite good. Hotel suited us as we were in a group of 8. May not be ideal for a couple. Rooms fine.
We were on the top floor and had a strange terrace/balcony with high walls. Very private but you had to stand on a chair to look over. Excellent skiing. We skied 12 resorts - links plus buses and trains.

I have stayed at this hotel twice this year. There are two sections to the main hotel and every room is totally different. The only reason I returned in march was purely its position to the gondola. When I stayed in January I complained about one of the rooms, it should have been rated 2 star, you had to stand on a chair to see through the windows and the amazing view was of the huge solar panels on the roof. The food was ok but choice was hugely limited to two meat dishes or a vegetarian option. When we returned in march I was shocked at the difference in the rooms, this time we were staying in the left side of the hotel, the rooms were really nice a great improvement on our previous stay, although this time the food was terrible and the miserable waitresses were not very helpful. The Ice Bar has a great atmosphere, its closes at 8.30 so dont worry too much if you are allocated a room above it. Dependng on the position of your room the Sports Bar can keep you awake all night as I discovered (i didnt get to sleep until 5am). Skiing conditions in January were perfect and as a blue/red skiier I found the wide slopes perfect, I wouldnt recommend skiing in march, the slopes became slushy and grass started appearing half way through the week. If you do decide to stay in Mayrhofen I would highly recommend a taxi trip to Kaltenbach, its only 15mins away and really worth it. Ps Inghams have got to be the worst tour operators !! We had more help from crystal ski reps even though we had booked with Inghams
