Myself and my partner stayed here in March this year for 7 days and I could not find one fault with this hotel!!!! This was my third visit to Vegas and my second to this hotel, and my partners first visit full stop. Decor in casino/lobby and food court is dated but suited the theme of the hotel. Rooms have all been having a revamp and ours was lovely much nicer than my previous stay.
The room was very clean with a huge tv, small desk, views of the Luxor/Mandalay Bay and plenty of wardrobe/drawer space, we could even fit our case in the wardrobe to keep it out of the way. Rooms were cleaned daily with towels also replaced daily, maids were very polite and would come back if you were still in your room. The bathroom or shower room was massive and spotless, glasses were replaced daily and bins were emptied daily aswell.
The hotel is perfectly situated with free monorail to the Luxor/Mandalay Bay (there was also a connecting walkway to the Luxor aswell) and is across the street from the MGM where you can get a monorail down the strip for a few bucks (TIP: pick up the VEGAS magazines which are in all hotel lobbys and you can get 24 hr tickets for half price etc..)
The Italian resturant is also worth a visit in this hotel as is the breakfast buffet (not the cheapest though). Krispy Kreme is also very good!!
One thing i would recommend doing is booking a helicopter trip with MAVERICK TOURS to fly over/into the Grand Canyon, we stopped for a picnic and it was amazing. You also get to fly by the strip on the way back to the airport. My partner was so pleased he has already said next time we go we are doing the sunset/night flight.

We found a good deal for 3 nights at the Excalibur, even though we were there over the weekend (most other casinos seemed to double the price for weekends).
We checked in easily and quickly, and were able to park our car just outside the block we were staying in. Our room was huge! There wasn't much furniture though, and the décor was a bit dated. However, the location of the casino is great. It is right on the strip so you can walk to the other casinos, etc.
We didn't spend much time in our room anyway. For the location and the price I would recommend a stay at the Excalibur.

Although this casino/hotel is one of the older casinos on the strip, we found our time there a good experience.
We chose the hotel as it was very reasonably priced, but still on the strip. The room was huge, as was the bathroom! It could have done with some updating, but it was clean and we felt very safe there. I
t is very well positioned, and there are (free) mono-rails to some of the other casinos. We ate at the buffet one night, it was quite an experience!
I would recommend the Excalibur if you are looking for a cheaper stay on the strip, but if I go back to Las Vegas I think I would pay more to stay at one of the more upmarket casinos.

We stayed in Las Vegas for 5 nights, we wanted to stay in Treasure Island, but as we were arriving on Friday night the price was double the standard price.
We therefore decided to stay the first two nights at the Excalibur before moving to TI when it was cheaper. This also worked well because the 2 hotels are opposite ends of the strip which enabled us to 'explore' more easily.
The Excalibur is huge, but was not too difficult to navigate. The room was also huge, much bigger than our room at TI, but not so nicely decorated. You can tell that the hotel is older, but it was not as bad as some of the reviews I have read have suggested!
We had the buffet one night, it was quite a spectacle! There was so much choice, and it was such good value for money. There is plenty of parking, although sometimes we had to park further away from our room.
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a cheaper place to stay on the trip, but I am glad we also stayed at TI as the room was more modern and 'special'.

This hotel is excellent and has a brilliant location at the busy and popular end of the strip. New York, New York, MGM Grand, and the Luxor are all right next to the hotel with easy access to loads of big attractions.
The casino is really good with a wide variety of slots (with loads of 1c machines), table games, and poker. The pool was being renovated when we were there however 2 of the old pools were still open. These were amazing, both very large and 1 with a slide for the children. There was always a lot of life guards around, loads of sun loungers and towels provided for you poolside. The hotel has a mass of restaurants plus a food court with McDonalds and Pizza hut!
Las Vegas is a fantastic holiday destination and in summer the temperature hits 116o.
Shopping is a must for any woman visiting Vegas and the Premium shopping outlets are only a 5minute taxi ride away and really cheap.

Las Vegas really is the place to be for a truly surreal holiday.
It is unlike any other place we have been to and the fun starts as soon as you get off the plane. We flew Virgin both ways and they really took care of us, both in the air and getting to our hotel.
We stayed four days and found this to be enough as you really don’t sleep much in a place like this. The weather is really hot during the day so it lends itself to 100% relaxing round the pool and plenty of good food in between.
The place really swings into life in the evening as the shows are really excellent and a walk up the strip at night cannot be missed. Each hotel has its own character and so each night is a new experience.
And of course there is the casino's to run you into the wee hours. Lots of Fun, a great place for R&R... Love It!

Great Family hotel and Casino. Children of all ages were welcomed with a smile. Lots of restaurants to visit including a food court with McDonalds pizza hut etc. Las Vegas can be a child friendly holiday with many activities to do and see.
Standard of hotel rooms was very good considering it was a mid priced hotel. We would definitely choose to stay here again. It was also the only hotel we found where security we based at every room wing entrance checking room keys. A big bonus as safety with children is a must.

Glitz, glamour and the neon lights of Las Vegas, not the place to take 2 young kids (5 & 18 months), well not true.
We took our 2 in March this year and what a fantastic time we had, from the moment we got onboard the Virgin direct flight from Gatwick everything was perfect.
We had a hire car waiting for us although it is perfectly easy to get around Vegas without one, we stopped at the Excalibur hotel on the strip perfect for kids 2 pool, numerous restaurants and a MacDonald’s, various shops and of course dragons etc for the kids.
Rooms very clean and spacious we were lucky enough to have a view of the strip at night an amazing site.
There’s plenty to do for people of all ages, obviously gambling is everywhere, there Wet'n'Wild in the summer, the dolphin and animal habitat at the mirage, shark reef at Mandalay Bay, Lions at MGM (we were lucky enough to see the lions cubs made my daughters day), Gondola rides at the Venetian, not to mention all the fabulous shopping and nightlife.
And of course the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon are all nearby.
Eating out is brilliant food is cheap and plenty of choice something for everyone.
A must for the kids is M&Ms WORLD I have never seen so many different colour sweets.
We have been to Orlando before but I can honestly say Las Vegas is my favourite, we as a family as keen to go again hopefully next year, if only so my little girl can see ELVIS again.

What can I say! This was the most fantastic holiday ever, I travelled with my husband and 2 kids (5 and 18mths) on a direct flight with Virgin brilliant flight good kids food very enjoyable, from the moment we landed at McCarran airport everything just seemed magical,
Vegas was every bit as good as I thought it would be, there was so much to see and do and plenty to keep the kids busy, even though its geared towards adults the kids were made to feel welcome,
Went in all the themed hotels and did the usual touristy things m&ms world, coca cola world, nascar cafe etc, highlight for my little girl was stroking sasha the lion cub at the MGM Grand hotel.
Also went to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Nascar race (for those of you who don’t know what nascar is think Tom Cruise Days of Thunder Film) brilliant day and people were so friendly.
Excalibur Hotel was very nice, linked to Luxor and New York Hotels via walkways, excellent restaurants well priced even a McDonalds to keep the kids happy
Found most of the food in Las Vegas to be reasonably priced and huge portions only disappointing meal was Planet Hollywood over priced and overrated.
Can’t wait to go back to Las Vegas hopefully in March 2006

i have just returned from the excalibur hotel in las vegas (2 days ago). this is my 6th holiday to vegas in 8 years, 3rd time to this hotel. once you spend time here you will never want to go anywhere else. hotel is always spotlessly clean although the pool beds are always covered in old towels no-one seemed to collect them till the end of the day. great for families and in a perfect location. great food court, lots of variety, eg mcdonalds, pizza hut, subway (well a cheaper version), and a lovely donut place. a buffet, steak house and italian all on the 3rd floor.
tower 2 has just been revamped and this overlooks the pool or the strip, extra $15 a night. stay in this one if you have children as it is a long walk through the casino to get to the pool from tower 1.
would highly recommend this hotel to all
shows to see / places to go
-ronn lucas -fantastic i haven't laughed so much in ages
-the variety show at planet hollywood brilliant show
-danny gans at the mirage
-lecage at the riviera
-legends in concert (celebrity lookilikes and soundalikes) at the imperial although only for older people there is also a similar show in the stratosphere although for some reason i cant remember what its called, this one is for the younger age group
-laughlin tour only $5 well worth it can be found in lobby tour section
-grand canyon skywalk ......took my breath away
shows not to see
-nathan burton at the flamingo, well what an absolutly pathetic show, crap tricks, and pulling obviously planted people out the audience, to do tricks made everyone cringe. don't bother. mostly seemed to revolve around the half naked drag like show girls.
