Went in September 06 and I have to say the best holiday we have ever had. The room was basic but very clean with free air con, loads of room for clothes and all your bits and pieces. You don’t need any more coz your never in it. Staff brilliant, animation team superb cater for everyone no matter where you come from. Free drinks from 10 till 12 midnight food available all day. As much as you can eat. The pools are superb and are cleaned every night. The beech is pebbles but very nice. There’s not a lot more that I can say. Give it a try if you want a nice relaxed holiday.

Me and my boyfriend have just come back from a lovely holiday in Kiotari Bay. We stayed in the newer part (Miraluna Village), which was lovely - nice big room and very very clean.
We was a bit worried before we went after reading some of the reviews which said we would have a lot of trouble getting sun beds and a few of the reviews mentioned there was building work being done next door - we didn’t have any problems getting sun beds at all (and we didn’t exactly get up early), and I didn’t see any building work being done?
We went all Inclusive, and as a rather fussy eater I found that I was eating chips most of the holiday. There was a reasonably good variety of food for those people who like to try different meats etc but other than that I found the food a bit repetitive, probably wouldn’t go all inclusive again.
The entertainment in the Miraluna Village section catered only for the Germans - there wasn’t a word of English spoken (other than the chef in the top restuarant who was very nice) The entertainment in the Kiotari Bay section was held at the Amphitheatre and was very entertaining (for all visitors, English, German, Italian etc).
The animation team were all very friendly other than Tommy who can be a OTT at times! If you get a chance to visit Pethkos than make sure you go into Eclipse, it is the most amazing pub/club you will ever go to very relaxed but lively! All in all we both had a brilliant holiday!

I read the comments on this website and others about a day before leaving for Kiotari Bay and I panicked, I expected the worst! However, this was not to be the case. I went with my partner and 2 children and we all had an excellent time. To get the negatives out of the way - the food isn't brilliant - but its not awful; you are in the middle of nowhere - but the bus was reliable and who wants to be karting 2 kids around an unknown area; First Choice weren't the best, but I never expect a lot from the reps - the kids club was in a dingy room and my children never got the hats and t-shirt etc that you are promised, when I told the rep she was a bit "what do you want me to do about it" and that really disappointed me and such a small thing like that has kind of put me off First Choice and that’s a shame.
But don't get me wrong - I loved this holiday and really didn’t want to leave.
The entertainment team were absolutely fantastic they were always around but in a way that didn’t overdo it. The hotel staff were so friendly, you could never ask too much.
At the evenings the amphitheatre was the best place to go, Aureal and the team would have you chuckling all night and although it felt weird sat in a theatre type setting I became really adjusted to it and felt that you got to meet more people.
The hotel is geared towards English, Germans and Italians mainly, everybody got treated as equals there were absolutely no problems. The sun beds were a bit of a nightmare, but to be fair I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere where there hasn't been a bit of a scrabble, and the English were as bad as anyone.
The rooms were ok above all they were very clean, the air conditioning was if anything too cold - but I was the only one moaning about that! There is a building site there but you really don't notice it, I think I saw / heard 1 man working on it one morning and that was it!
Overall I would recommend this holiday to anyone mainly down to the fantastic entertainments team and superb hotel staff.

Excellent service from the minute we got there at 6am in the morning to when we got on the coach to go home at 1am again in the morning. Staff are polite, friendly and helpful at all times. Food is very good, different menus everyday, excellent variety at every meal time. Accommodation was very comfortable and cleaned every day.
The whole complex was cleaned everyday and well maintained. Pools were cleaned every day. The one thing that does stand out about the holiday has got to be the Animation Team they were fantastic all the time. Kept both adults and children entertained from 10am till midnight (2am if you went the disco). They truly are a most valuable asset to the complex.
The complex is in the middle of nowhere as it states in the brochure but obviously you go on holiday knowing that which suited us. If you do want to get out and about there is a very good local bus service, car hire at the hotel or even the First Choice organised trips. We had an excellent time and had trouble adjusting back to normal as it was so lazy and relaxing we really missed it when we came home.
We would definitely go again. ps don’t read too much into the bad holiday reviews, I did and went away quite worried. They are untrue - in my opinion the moaners must have gone to a different hotel.

We have just returned from two weeks at the Kiotari Bay, Miraluna Hotel and we had a superb holiday, with the friends that we went away with, and the new ones we have made (Dave you really do look good in a mini skirt and tights).
The animation team who consisted of Aurel, Artur, Tom, Katie, Roy & Jerry really made the holiday, and never seemed to stop working, or making the holiday makers smile with their antics and their performances. My son had his 9th birthday whilst we were there, and we had arranged a table for eight in the dining hall, a cake and the hotel staff really helped by arranging everything. The animation team had him on the stage and presented him with an Arsenal Football shirt that we had taken out with us, as a present (great idea Tom, as he will never forget it).
Aurel is a natural and talented performer, and fluent in six languages enabling him to converse to all of the holiday makers, and with the help (and brains) from his brother Artur who I believe designed most of the routines and sketches, they really keep everything going. Katie who is so full of energy, really puts her heart and soul into her performances, and helping out in the Mini-Disco. Roy and his “Weapon” were always there for the ladies ;) good Human Resources practice! He always had a smile on his face. Jerry (YO! DJ play that funky music) was always there mixing the tunes, and keeping the water sports fun. Tom was always rallying around getting people to participate in the games, and if you didn’t participate, you could always have great fun watching them, there was something for everyone.
The bar staff were brilliant, Harry, Cyria, Mila & Andreas always remembered what you drank, and they just wanted to make your stay the best it possibly could be, “Yamas” Harry! With all of your 1, 2, 3’s and 2, 2, 2’s.
The food was good, there was always something different to eat, the menu is repeated weekly, but with five or more main dishes to choose from, and two fresh pasta dishes, and salad, you could always eat something different.
We never really had to queue for long at the bar, as there were five of them, you could always find one that was hardly used, if you sat in the pool by the pool bar in the day, the bar staff would usually just provide you with another drink, if it was quiet, and there wasn’t anyone that needed serving.
The First Choice reps were unfortunately a waste of space, with the exception of one, they could have smiled more, or even tried to look like they enjoyed their jobs, or that they liked helping children enjoy themselves. They had no enthusiasm and are certainly in the wrong profession, as they never even welcomed the children when they went into the clubs, we stopped bothering with the children’s clubs in the end because of this.
We never found getting a sun bed a problem, as long as you are up before 8pm, you would always get one, all of the other holiday makers from all nationalities were never a problem, the Austrians, Italians and Germans were always friendly and polite, and enjoyed participating with you in the activities, and I hope they saw the British this way too.
P.S. The weather was great, and the pools and sea ware very welcoming, a very clean hotel. Wishy Washy, Wishy Washy, Tutti Frutti, Ooh La La.

We spent the last two weeks of August at this hotel. The weather was fantastic, over 40c most days. The hotel was very nice but very remote as it said in the brochure. There is nothing within walking distance however, Lindos is a bus ride away (peanuts) or taxi ride away (30 euros round trip).
The room was very spacious and not bad overall. Probably could do with some updating but I have certainly seen worse. Maid service everyday and regular changes of towels and bedding.
Our main issue with the hotel was the depth of the water in the pools. You either have the splash or toddler pools which are 40cm deep otherwise all the other pools are at least 140cm deep. Quite a few guests seemed to arrive and then go to the shop to buy arm bands for their kids. If your kids are learning to swim then I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
Our other main issue was the food. It was generally very nice but one member of the party was vegetarian and spent most of the time eating plain pasta or vegetables. There was rarely a vegetarian option to replace the meat element of the meal and even the freshly cooked pasta contained meat or fish most nights.
The First Choice rep was a waste of space and I can't comment on the kids clubs as our children didn't use them.
There was always a lot going on around the main pool which was generally very busy. There was the usual issue with sun beds. If you wanted them close to the pool with a parasol then you needed to be up before 7am. Some people were even putting their towels out the night before! However, it was always possible to find a sun bed up till 9am but these tended to be at the back without a parasol.
You could use any of the other pools but you had to get a pass from reception and this is equivalent to reserving a sun bed as you needed to be their by 8am! However, we met people that had used them for a fortnight without anybody ever checking whether they had a pass so you could probably get away with this.
The entertainment was the best we have experienced and even the bingo was entertaining (I hate bingo!). The Animation Team worked extremely hard and the kids loved Katie.
If you fancy a venture out then Lindos is definitely worth a visit to see the Acropolis. We also went on the glass bottom boat ride from the harbour which was great fun. Definitely recommend this.
Overall we had a good holiday but we wouldn't go back because of our issue with the pools and the food!

We had the best holiday ever at the Kiotari Bay. The room was a little small but we spent so little time in it that it was ok, clean and well air-conditioned. The food was fantastic with plenty of choice. Around the pool was clean and well maintained, we had no problems getting sun beds. Also there was no problems with insects and mosquitoes.
The best part of the holiday was the hotels animation team, they were very professional and kept my whole family entertained morning noon and night, if I could guarantee that they would be there next year the holiday would already be booked.
First Choice reps seemed to have a problem with the animation team which came across childish and totally uncalled for.

My son and I have just returned from 2 weeks at the Kiotari Bay Hotel in Miraluna. After I had booked my holiday I read the reviews on the first choice site so arrived with trepidation as they stated that the pools were overcrowded and the entertainment was geared towards the Italian and German fraternity. This is definitely not so.
I cannot praise the staff enough for their friendliness and helpfulness. The room was clean and comfortable. Regular maid service kept the room spotless. Nancy on reception could not do enough to ensure the guests comfort. The bar staff are pleasant and friendly even in the face of rudeness. The entertainment from the Animation team of Aurel, Arthur, Katie, Tom Jerry and Roy was fantastic. Activities such as table tennis, water polo, lazy quiz, darts, boules, football and volleyball are well ordered and entertaining. and are for children and adults separately. Aqua aerobics for those who wish to be energetic. The team were so friendly and caring always having time for you when ever you needed them. The evening entertainment catered to all needs.
The team are multilingual and ensure that all nationalities feel welcome. The cabaret and spectacular shows. Mini disco and bingo games were professional and guaranteed to keep you laughing for the whole of your stay. I cannot praise the animation team enough they certainly earn their money and I would say deserve more for their effort and enthusiasm which never wanes from 10am start to the end of their day after the disco at 3am some days. Their patience and tolerance with all the children is second to none.
I would recommend families going to the resort. There are 3 pools in the main area that are meticulously maintained and are definitely not overcrowded. Sun beds are available for free and are first come first serve basis. There is a separate splash area with a pirate ship for the little ones to play safely.
When not swimming there are pool tables, Air hockey and some gift machines so take plenty of Euro coins for the Kids.
Off site nearby there is not a lot unless you get on a bus to lardos Pefkos etc. The buses stop at the entrance to the complex and are frequent although not always exactly on time. Mid to late teens may not find the resort completely stimulating but the water polo which they do separately for adults and children also volleyball and table tennis can be utilised by them.
The food was varied and covered all tastes and was plentiful. The dining room was clean and well organised and the food hot and very tasty. When the restaurant is closed food is available in the taverna. Drinks are plentiful and generous measures. Water sports are available on the beach such as ringos, banana's waterskiing jet skiing is available (payable) these are controlled and safe activities run by John. The beach is stony but sun beds are available for 2.50 euros a day and it’s a 3 minute walk through the complex. There are bars within the hotel that are paying bars if you want cocktails etc.
We only arrived home this morning and I felt that the previous reviews were unjust and misleading so much so that I felt the overwhelming urge to pay tribute and ensure the true vision of this excellent site was put down in writing.
Thank you to all the team for making our holiday truly memorable.

We went to Kiotari Bay with friends (total 20!)in Aug 06, we were supposed to be going to Kefalonia Aqua Beach Club but First Choice failed to tell us that it was not built yet (we heard from friends a few weeks before we were about to go), so we booked Kiotari Bay as a last minute holiday and couldn't be more pleased!
The hotel was brilliant! All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. When we first arrived we were located next to a building site (they are extending the hotel) we asked to change rooms and were very helpful, we didn't move in the end as we realised that the builders don't work during high season, presumably they all get jobs as waiters and bar staff during the summer months! So there was no noise or disruption from the building site.
The holiday was excellent value for money, the food was lovely, there was always a varied choice ( 2 or 3 meat dishes, 1 fish, pasta, salads, rice, breads, fruit, ice cream etc) the snack bar was always open apart from when the restaurant was.
Entertainment! The animation team were fantastic, always friendly and enthusiastic, Katie, Tom, Jerry, Lacie, Artur, Roy and Aurel. The children really miss them. The First Choice mini disco in the amphitheatre was ok, but it could have been better, after the mini disco was bingo, then a show, Aurel was fluent in many languages so the bingo was very entertaining even if you weren't playing!
While we were at Kiotari Bay, the First Choice entertainment team decided they could do a better job than the animation team (but failed) so we had a night with poor entertainment, but thankfully we all asked the hotel manager to bring the animation team back, so the rest of our holiday we were truly entertained.
First Choice were quite miserable and didn't seem to like children that much, they were not very helpful and dumped us at the airport on our return journey 2 hours early as they were taking others for earlier flights. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely go back.

Arrived back 2 days ago from the Kiotari Bay and apart for a long and tiring journey home in the early hours we had a fantastic holiday. If you have a early morning flight it is worth booking a late stay room which you have to vacate by 6pm instead of 10am.
Our room was good overlooking reception and on the second floor. The rooms are in need of modernisation but for the amount of time you spend there this is not a critical factor. The beds are clean and comfortable and if you want extra pillows just ask at reception. The room was cleaned every day, the beds made and fresh towels provided. The sheets on the bed were changed every 4 days. Once had to ask reception for pillow cases to be changed but within 15 mins maids arrived and changed all the beds. And when a glass was broken in the bathroom again the emergency crew arrived and dealt with it.
The food is very good with a wide choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you like pasta make sure you visit Giuseppe the Italian chef who cooks a selection of two pasta dishes whilst you wait. Finding somewhere to sit was sometimes a little difficult but just ask the staff and they will soon find you a table. During our second week the hotel became noticeably busier which meant at certain times the restaurant became quite crowded but there was never a shortage of food or choice.
Drinks are fine a good selection both in the restaurant and at the bar. Unfortunately from a personal point of view the wine provided at lunch and dinner was dire but fine mixed with lemonade. If you don't like your spirits in treble measures make sure you tell the bar man! The plastic glasses in the pool areas can be a little scuffed but once you have seen how they get kicked about it is a necessary evil from a safety point of view.
The whole complex is well maintained and cleaned thoroughly at least twice a day. Do not leave drinks under your sun bed when you go to lunch or you will find unwelcome visitors on your return the same goes for anything sweet make sure you put it in the bin because ants appear from nowhere.
Sun beds are an issue unfortunately but by location not quantity if you want a good spot you are going to have to get up very early to stake your claim and I must say at this point that the British are just as bad as any other nationality in fact they are probably worse as there seems to be an unspoken rule amongst the Europeans that towels on sun beds are left alone where as we had our towels moved twice and we suspect the British on both occasions. The guys on reception are exceptionally helpful and a special thank you to them.
Last but not least I must thank the Animation Team Aurel, Artur, Tom, Katie, Roy, Jerry and Laci. I think we can all say without a doubt that they made the holiday. I don't know when they sleep, eat or have time to themselves because they appear to be on the go from just after breakfast until the early hours of the morning.
There is a long list of activities for kids or adults throughout the day. The team have obviously become highly skilled at creating the balance between informing people of the activities available but not pressurizing individuals to join in. Evening entertainment for us was in the amphitheatre. 9pm Mini disco, 9.30pm Bingo and 10pm a show until 11pm. We never saw the same show twice in two weeks. Aurel the main compeer speaks 6 languages! Which apart from being an amazing skill it united the whole audience which is incredibly important in such a mixed resort.
The charisma, energy and enthusiasm of the Animation team is amazing. The children cried all the way to the airport after they said goodbye to the team who stayed up on their day off until we left on the last night to wave goodbye to the kids. I know Artur reads the reviews so if you are reading this one love to you all from Miss England and family.
