We (husband and three kids 10, 9, and 6) had a fantastic holiday at kiotari bay hotel so much so we have booked to go back next year.
Room was very clean and cleaned daily with fresh towels. We had a room by the pirate ship which was great for the kids!
Food was great something for everyone and the kids especially enjoyed the unlimited icecream throughout the day! Drinks were great too i recommend the berry buster coctail in the Zues bar.
The Animation team were great throughout the day by the pool and during the evening entertainment as were the first choice reps who were great with my kids who enjoyed many of the first choice clubs and thats where they made lots of friends.
If you prefer sandy beaches( the beach with hotel is shingles) we recommend the beach which is one bus stop down the road( a bus timetable is available from the helpful reception team).

We have not long returned from our holiday at the Kiotari Bay Hotel and it was excellent. Me, my husband and three children (3,7 and 8) have never been to Rhodes before and after reading the reviews were very anxious about going. The reviews on the Hotel were mixed but I can't understand why? We had a great time.
After reading many reviews we had plans to upgrade when we got there, but after meeting different families when we got there we then descided not too. The food at the Kiotari Bay was excellent. My husband is a fussy eater and he really enjoyed the meals. There is something there for the kids too, which is usually chips and something, but they would quite often have the meat and veg from the adult selection. There is always fresh bread, fruit and loads of salad. I could not fault the food.
Our room was very small as all of us were cramed into two small rooms, but we spent no time in our rooms except to sleep and get ready. Our room was right next to the pirate ship. If you have young children this room is a must. It saves the walks to and from the rooms all day!
In the evening they have a mini disco for the kids, bingo and an act. Although the songs for the kids were repetative the kids loved them. And the animation staff who work very hard are excellent. They helped to make the holiday so good.
The kids reps are fantastic. I didn't really want the kids to go to the clubs, but once they went and made friends, their was no stopping them and they was probably at the club for two hours a day!!!!
In my opinion this Hotel is excellent and great value for money. The kids are entertained all day with the pirate ship and water sprinklers. We could have as many drinks and as much food as we liked. The kids went to the clubs with their mates and everyone was happy. I would recommend this hotel to people with a young family and am hoping to visit it again next year. Hope this helps.

Kiotari Bay Miraluna was the best holiday i have ever been on. Before going on this holiday i read some reviews and was not looking forward to it at all, but i have to say i was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the hotel.
The food was amazing and catered for all.
The pools were cold all the time, which was good in the heat. The Animation Team, Aurel, Mel, Terry, Lorenzo, Vale and GianCarlo, were all amazing in what they done. They worked from early in the morning to late at night for very little money. They should definetely get paid more for what they do. The bingo was great, even though we dont like bingo and didnt take part. Aurel was very good with the different languages, which was entertaining. The arcade was also great fun for the kids, and the especially liked playing air hockey.
The room was cleaned everyday and kept in great condition. Towels were changed at regular intervals as well. Nansie on reception was especially helpful and does her job fantastically.
Overall, the holiday was fantastic and will definetely be returning again.

My family has just returned a few days ago from this hotel (me, husband, 2 children aged 7 and 3).
We had a good holiday but there are a couple of things which could be improved upon. Firstly, the children's entertainment in the evening was extremely repetitive and consisted entirely of the mini disco (same 5 songs every evening), no games, nothing.
All the evening entertainment took place right next to the pool and five very big concrete steps (shaped in a kind of horse shoe for people to sit on). I saw one cracked open head while we were there (7 nights), I found it very difficult to relax in this area with a boisterous 3 year old wanting to run around!
There was children's clubs during the daytime but our children did not take part in these. With no offence to the children's reps but they barely look old enough to look after a dog let alone my children!
Secondly, the drinks were pretty poor quality in my opinion - in particular the lemonade and coke tasted nothing like they should.
The food at the hotel was good quality and varied if a little cold at times.
Unfortunately we were delayed both ways on our First Choice flights (3 hours on the way there and 90 mins on the way back), understandable but an apology from First Choice would have gone a long way to improve my attitude towards them (will not be travelling with them again).
Our room was cleaned every day and fresh towels left which was a nice touch. All too often a family of four gets shoved in one room but this room had 2 separate bedrooms and was pretty spacious.
Nansi on reception was very helpful to us (especially as our little boy had chicken pox while we were there)
This is our second trip to Rhodes itself - this side of the island is definitely the best. We hired a car for 3 days for 75 euros from the car hire place just outside reception. We used the car to visit some of the places that we loved from our last trip.
The best places we have found on the island are:
Lindos (in particular St Pauls Bay) - take your snorkel there are loads of fish to see and pretty big too!
Tsambica Beach - a beautiful long stretch of sandy beach, clear water, sand underneath our feet, 2 shops, 2 places to eat - nothing more - well worth a trip (about 40 mins away from Kiotari)
We would also recommend a restaurant called "Palm Bay" on the main road to Pefkos. The food is great as is the view (overlooking Lardos Bay) - and pretty reasonable too.
Rhodes 10/10, this hotel 7/10 - I would come back to Rhodes but not to the Kiotari Bay Hotel. If you like drinking beer from 10 am until midnight and letting your kids get on with entertaining themselves, then this is the place for you!

My family ( husband children aged 13 and 20 years) returned last night from a brilliant holiday at this hotel and resort. we enjoyed ourselves so much we tried to extend our stay by 4 days but could find no flights back to the UK with available seats. We stayed in the Kiotari Bay hotel. The room we were allocated the first night had obviously been used by a smoker. The first morning we asked to be moved. we expected to have to beg or threaten but Nansie the receptionist gave us the keys to one of their bungalows and said if we liked it we could move there immediately. The bungalow had 2 rooms a patio door leading to a lawned area, and a medium sized swimming pool with Viking ship and water falls etc! we had the sun all day and a short walk to the shingly beach. There was plenty to eat and we could eat all day from 7am until 12midnight! There were several taverns where you helped yourself to drinks and hot/cold snacks. We ate in the adjoining Miraluna hotel (part of the hotel group) which is rated 5* as there was more choice for vegetarians. All staff were very friendly, entertainment was good and varied. Our last night was spent at the Blue bay Hotel in the north of the island for the last night so we could visit Rhodes Town, again arranged by Nansie. Will certainly revisit probably this August. One of our best holidays yet.

Felt I had to add my comments to give a more balanced review of this hotel.
Our family of 5 has just returned from two weeks all-inclusive, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is a very large complex and seemed a little impersonal because of this.
We were based in the Kiotari complex. Our room was spotlessly clean, albeit a tad small for 5,and was cleaned on a daily basis. We were based in the one story family blocks surrounding the pool, which were reasonably quiet apart from bar noise from mainly English guests on some nights.
The first week we arrived the hotel was busier, mainly with German and Italian guests, who were extremely well-behaved. The next week seemed less busy, but the hotel seemed noisier due to the above and a rogue element who were quickly removed. This was tolerable though ,and didn't really detract from the holiday.
The restaurant was clean and appeared well-run by the (apparently) strict manager. The food was fresh, hot and variable, and the snack bar catered for the less adventurous (Chips and Pizza). The two pasta chefs (who sadly went home) and the Thai chef were excellent and cooked in the restaurant.
The food choices were not so good in our second week, but they were catering for less people.
The all-inclusive drinks were ok and quite strong with the beer and cocktails (not free, but 3 Euros each at happy hour in Zeus bar)coming out top in our view. The animation team Aurel, Terry,Mel,Leo,Lorenzo, Vale, and GianCarlo were excellent. Aurel was particularly professional, and fluent in many languages, but the whole team were (outwardly) enthusiastic and friendly, which was great at the end of a long season. They tried to involve everyone and the kids just loved them all. The bingo and shows were a bit cheesy, but the animation team were always lovely.
The professional shows at the Amphitheatre were good, but it was a bit cold at night down there.
The pools were a bit deep for children, particularly if not good swimmers but the splash park was always available. Basically we would recommend this hotel for families, but not for young singles.

What a fantastic holiday!!! Where do I begin??
The room was great, the children had their own little room complete with tv and dvd player. The food was fantastic, the staff were all so friendly especially Nansie on reception.
We upgraded to a select room which only cost us an extra £80 which was money well spent as the facilities in the Miraluna were definitely better than the Kiotari Bay.
The chef who worked in the snack bar at the Miraluna cooked up some of the best food I've ever eaten in a hotel abroad.
Great time of year to go, the weather was still great but the hotel had quietened down quite a lot.
My children loved the Kids Club and the kids reps were great with them and the activity programme for them was fab, ensuring we had plenty of adult time!
As far as going out and about goes, Lindos is beautiful and well worth a visit, Pefkos is great for a night out, I can highly recommend Enigma and Nostalgia for a meal. Haraki beach is also worth a visit.
We did an excursion to Symi, the place itself was well worth visiting but you have to travel for 5 hours to get there!!
The only down side to the holiday... coming home.

My husband and I have just returned from Kiotari after a fairly relaxing week without the kids. We were here two years ago as a family, and I'm sad to say that the resort has gone downhill since we last visited.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad resort (if you are loud mouthed and English), but this time, we felt that the standard had gone downhill.
One day there, there was nothing at all that we could eat. Now I'm not fussy and will eat anything except lamb and offal, but on this one day, the food was either overcooked (mainly the seafood) or it was raw (my husband had chicken which was still very red). However, on the other days, the food was very good with a good variety of different dishes to suit everyone.
The other thing that we noticed was that there was a very high percentage of English guests. This wouldn't be a problem but watching their kids throwing cups of cola over each other up at the pool table area was very disturbing especially as they didn't even apologise to the poor staff who had to clean up their mess.
The other thing was that a lot of people seemed to treat the staff as servants to clean up after their mess. I hate that, these guys have a job to do (which I think they do very well being polite, when really all they want to do is tell people to mind their manners).
There were a lot of English and Italians there and I think the resort is starting to cater more for the yobs more than it used to. Remember this is meant to be a 5 star resort.
The evening entertainment was actually quite good although a little “different" God bless the animation team!
We only saw our First Choice rep when we went looking for him, and the other first choice reps that ran the kids clubs didn't look like they could be bothered. Also, I noticed that it was mainly the other reps that ran activities in the pool (water football etc) were from other non British companies. At no point did I see any daytime activity ran by the first choice reps (unless you count them trying to fleece you for a fortune to go on a bus to some place where the entry ticket was not included in the price).
The only evening entertainment that we saw by the first choice reps was the mini talent show( this was designed for the kids but that was not made clear to anyone going down to the amphitheatre).
On the positive side, all of the staff at Kiotari were very nice and helpful. We spent many a time just chatting away to them. We spent a lot of our time on the Dionysis bar where it was well air conditioned and the staff were great. Really friendly and helpful
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but we won't be going back as there were too many yobs there to get in your face and annoy you. This is not the place to go anymore if you want a nice peaceful holiday.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Kiotari Bay hotel and overall it was a pretty good experience. The hotel is good, full of Germans and Italians but to be honest it was the English tourists who were more of a problem!
All of the hotel staff were lovely and helpful, especially Nansi and the guys on reception, and the rooms were spotless and cleaned every day. The food in the restaurant was good on the whole although there wasn't always a good choice for kids and my little boy lived on chips, spaghetti bol and ice cream for 2 weeks but he was happy enough.
There was a Thai chef in the restaurant each night cooking Cantonese and Asian food (fantastic) and a couple of Italian chefs who all prepared pasta. My boyfriend is a vegetarian and most nights had great meals.
The Animation team from the hotel put on great entertainment all day, everyday from pool games to fire eating - very funny, very entertaining and talented and spoke so many languages to include everyone.
I wasn't too impressed with the First choice team. It was clearly almost the end of the season for them and they looked like they had just had enough but I think I would have by this time of the year with the English holiday makers.
It is quite a big hotel but we all felt quite safe within it. There were a great deal of people with the 'VIP' tags on who were staying at the other part of the hotel for at least £400 extra each week but it did make us wonder if it was worth paying that extra money as so many of them spent their whole holidays within the main part of the hotel by the pool and also in the restaurant.
The beach was pebbly but we knew that before we went and if you catch the bus at the top of the road by the hotel entrance it cost 1 euro to get to a lovely sandy cove just 2 minutes up the road which has a lovely beach bar serving drinks and snacks - take a snorkel with you as the sea is full of colourful fish.
We hired a car for 4 days as this proved to be a much cheaper way of touring the Island rather than pay for the trips provided by First Choice and you have much more freedom to enjoy the sights. Hire your car from reception or the lady seated in the reception area as it is cheaper than First Choice. We spent time up in Rhodes Town, at the Water Park and other days just exploring - take lots of water with you.
Our only problem really was the heat. It is apparently the hottest it has been on Rhodes for 20 years and it was a struggle both in the day and at night. Also, if you don't want loud music keeping you up late then don't request a sea view as you will be facing the Amphitheatre where the entertainment happens and the music is pretty awful and very loud. If you want a late check out on your last day I would recommend doing it when you get to the hotel with the reception staff as First Choice were charging £45 for this but we paid 30 euros and had our room until 9.00p.m
Overall it was a good holiday and I would definitely recommend the hotel but try and book independently rather than with a tour operator, you may get a better deal.

We had a great time at this hotel. We found the entertainment better the second week we were there as they changed their boss, made a big difference.
Although we did see a couple of shows twice. Well done animation staff, you were very entertaining!
The only moan I would have was the restaurant or should I say school canteen! Our 1st week was fine as wasn't that busy but the second week hundreds of Italians came & just took over & it was everyone for themselves, barging into you, taking your table when you had been sitting there, the list goes on. So could do with a better system when it’s really busy.
I can't say would go back to this resort as wouldn't do an all inclusive in Europe again as like to go out & eat & look around, but is ok if you just want a relaxing holiday.

We have just returned from the beautiful island of Rhodes, from a first fantastic week although the entertainment was repetitive, the head rep useless, the room full of ants and the food basically aimed at german clientele we threw ourselves into our holiday.
The second week was a farce from start to finish. The nearby fire (which the reps were blind too) came closer and closer. The smoke engulfed the hotel and still no reps to be seen. Eventually the hotel took over and evacuated everyone to the beach only for First Choice reps to turn up and send everyone back to the reception.
We where then carted off to a nearby beach to stop us having to breathe in the smoke where we sat until 8.40pm. An announcement was made that they would be returning everyone so we could pack one overnight case and we had 15 minutes to do this. On our return we packed one bag and then preceeded to wait 1 and 1/2 hours in the lobby breathing in smoke with our 2 children aged 7 and 2.
At my request one the reps asked the hotel manager to provide drinks to everyone at the payable bar only to be told that "THEY ALL PAY AT THAT BAR". These children had had nothing to eat since 10 am, and the hotel would not even provide a coke or lemonade to keep them happy in this nightmare.
After 1 and 1/2 hours we where told that food would be available at the alternative hotel - a meal that is would be provided, and we where told to get onto the coach, but - no hotel had yet been found they would be taking us to Bubbles and a rep would meet us there.
Surprise surprise - no rep and what we all thought would be a hotel reception for the 18-30 market (Bubbles) turned out to be an open air bar in the middle of faliriki. Proceeding to sit there for nearly 2 hours when a rep eventually turned up, then the coaches where we where taken to an alternative hotel. And yes you all guessed no meal would be provided on our arrival.
A farce from start to finish, no communication from First Choice, lack of organisation, and lies upon lies.
There where approx 100 people in this open air bar, we where not dressed for this occasion. My 2 year old cried for nearly 2 hours, she was cold, hungry and tired.
The bar owner was fantastic he rang the mayor and started the ball rolling and I rang up head office emergency hotline, and eventually a rep turned up.
Our daughter was worse for wear for days after, tired from lack of sleep, and this in turned ruined the last few days.
The head rep couldnt care less her flippant attitude exaserbated the situated and her lack of communication and interpersonal skills were evident throughout.
Will never travel with first choice again and will never go all inclusive again. For watered down alchohol, cheap pop, orange juice that was cordial go all inclusive.
