Best Kept Secret

On our first trip to Las Vegas we were relied entirely on the reviews posted here to select the Orleans as our place to stay. We couldn't have made a better choice. We were there for 4 nights from the 27th to the 31st of July. Check in took all of 10 minutes and our spacious and very clean room was on the 17th floor over looking the pool. The fun book you receive upon checking in give you a multitude of discounts and we took advantage of many including two for one tickets to see the Righteous Brothers. The show was fantastic and although our seats were in the back, just before the preformance began a very friendly usher escorted us to the front row where two seats went unclaimed. Many thanks to him. The shuttle made it very easy to get to the strip and we visited it several times but we were always glad to get back to the realtive calm of the Orleans. Found in the Orleans and sorely lacking in the strip casinos were reasonable priced table games. During our stay there were always two $3.00 minimum blackjack tables and at least 6 $5.00 minimum tables. Also, there was a $2.00 craps table and a $.50 roulette table. Try finding that on the strip. From this site we were aware there was no coffee maker in the rooms so we brought our own so that was not an issue. A thanks to Trip Advisor for this service which made our first visit to Las Vegas a huge success and when we return you can be assured we will be at the Orleans.
wonderful place

This was my first experience at the Orleans, I have been to Vegas two other times and stayed on the strip (Circus Circus and Flamingo). My wife and I were there from July 19 thru the 23rd and it was marvelous. Our room was on the tenth floor, very comfortable and overlooked the pool area. Only things missing were a refrigerator and a coffee pot. (Also, of note, no exhust fans in the bathroom.) The hotel is spacious and laid out very well. The casino and restaurants are on the first floor while the bowling alley, 18 plex threatre, and amusement areas are on the second. The pool area was very nice with two separate pools plus a hot tub. There was also a workout room that overlooked the pool area as well. The waitresses were very accessible, drinks flowed freely. Shuttle runs every half hour to the strip if you're interested. We were surprised to find the package that we booked though Funjet included all of our meals at the buffet for our entire stay. I would recommend this place to everyone. Caution, if you are renting a car, do not use Payless. Now that experince was horrible. It took an hour to get the car, customer service was lousy, and the car was awful. Spend the six extra dollars a day and go to a national firm.
Great selection on or off the strip

I stayed at The Orleans in July and quite honestly, was VERY impressed. Because of the price we paid (and the fact that it was off the strip), I was expecting something sub par. Quite the contrary! This is Vegas' best kept secret. The rooms are huge and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. During our stay, we enjoyed the movie theater and the bowling alley, both of which were very spacious and clean. You couldn't beat the prices and selections at the restaurants. And the shuttle service did the trick when you wanted to get around the area. Overall, the Orleans is a gem and we have already booked ourselves to go back in January. It's a great spot for any type of group because there is really something for everyone. After seeing some of the hotels on the strip, I became more proud of the fact that I was staying at The Orleans! There were only two downsides of this hotel and both were minor; 1. I didn't like the notion of having to pay to workout (but they do offer you one freebie with your stay) and 2. I wish that more of their restaurants stayed open late (for those late night wanderers!). Other than that, I really can't imagine staying anywhere else in Vegas.
Great for the family with young children

Just came back from the Orleans Hotel. Very clean and large room. Less crowded. Shuttle to the Strip saves a lot of time to find a parking. Swimming pools are suitable to little children (only 1 - 4 1/2 ft deep). Reasonably priced food. Friendly staffs. We will absolutely stay the hotel again!
Great family resort
from cliveasmith
Stayed here in April 2003 with our 2 boys 11 and 15. Had a room with a view of the strip which was spacious and clean. Swimming pool was loved by the kids as was the 10 pin and the movies. Enjoyed a buffet meal in the French Market and a really good coffee bar. Only thing that could have made our stay better would have been a coffee maker in our room. Otherwise a perfect place to take the family.
Loved it!

Stayed at the Orleans from July 15-July 16 and absolutely loved it. The rooms were very clean and very spacious, and the service was great! The price of food and drink was very inexpensive compared to that of the strip. Not to mention the quality of the food was exceptional. A free shuttle to the strip (Barbary Coast hotel and casino), was provided and ran every 30 minutes. I will be going back with friends in January and plan on introducing them to this great hotel!
A break from the crowded Strip!

Like other reviewers of Vegas hotels, my family and I chose the Orleans based mainly upon others' comments. Never having been to Las Vegas before, I did not know what to expect as far as rooms and casino experiences. After dodging pedestrian traffic up and down the Strip, in and out of hotels and casinos, I am glad we stayed a few blocks away at the Orleans. There seemed to be more guests of the hotel playing the slots, and because of its location off strip, there was none of the in and out traffic of people. The extras, like a bowling alley and movie theatre, made our stay there with the kids a really great choice, especially since neither my wife and I are much on gambling. Great hotel to "base" out of when in Vegas! Convenient shuttles dropped you off in the middle of the action. The pool was also convenient, located just outside of the elevators, which made it unnecessary to go through the casino dripping wet. Security at the elevators made you feel safe and carefree. This is the place to go when you have kids tagging along!
Even better than we expected!

We just returned from our stay at the Orleans. After reading the reviews on this site, it sounded like a good deal. It exceeded our expectations and we can not wait until our next Vegas vacation that will be sure to include a stay at this hotel. The staff was courteous. The rooms were nicely appointed and very clean. A true bargain and a nice break from the noisy strip. If you can not afford the Mirage, (as we could not)! The Orleans will give you the best value for your money.PS Try TripReservations for a great rate! This is a PERSONAL note we are not in any way affliated with the site!
Comfortable and Friendly
from Slyone13
We've stayed at the Orleans twice now. The last time was May for eight days. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The peple working at the Orleans went out fo their way to accomadate our every need. The entertainment was great every night, The buffet and restaurants were reasonable and the food was great, everything from steak and eggs to Primerib. The pool area was great as well as the service around it. We do miss Big Al's pool party though. They have a good selection of machines, especially Video Poker. The tables were reasonably priced and always busy. The only minor inconvenience was the shuttle, with all the traffic I think they should put on an extra shuttle on weekends. All in all we had a great time at a really comfortable and entertaining place to stay.
The Orleans is Beautiful!

Okay, I've been trying to write about our stay for almost a month now. My husband and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary here in Las Vegas. We went the weekend of June 13. I did plenty of research to decide where I want to stay and the reviews on TripAdvisor helped me to make up my mind. I had been reading the reviews about The Orleans for months and then I finally booked my stay. Upon arrival at The Orleans we were not disappointed. The hotel was BEAUTIFUL. It's amazing how nice it is for the price. I love the New Orleans' Mardi Gras theme...the outside of the hotel is decked out in beautiful colors with Louisiana-like and Mardi Gras-like architecture. it was even more spectacular at night! We went inside and it was equally as beautiful. Okay I went inside looking for these "spacious" rooms with the sofa, coffee table and chair...which for me was one of the biggest selling points of the hotels, but still I was thinking I'd find this cramped little room with the sofa crammed inside. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I did want the extra sitting room. So off to our room, we walked down this bright, long corridor and then entered our room and we were so SURPRISED at how HUGE the rooms were. The rooms were as big as some suites I've been in...it was AMAZING...no lie. HUGE rooms. HUGE king size bed...the bed seemed like it was bigger than a king. And just like I asked for we had a great view of the strip. Okay, so far I was VERY impressed. The bathroom had a phone inside...and the closet was by the bathroom and not taken up any of the space in our room. There was plenty of drawer space. I loved the room decor...it was bright and cheery with a nice parisian pattern on the furniture and wallpaper. Okay let me see...the pool and jacuzzi were open 24 hours! That was a big perk for me. I loved the atmosphere at the pool. There were trees everywhere. And with the vegas heat and humidity coming up from the jacuzzi it was like being in an exotic rainforest. The restaurants served pretty good food...esp. Don Miguels. They make the best guacamole! Gambling was good and it was cheap at the tables. I didn't win much at the slots so we went to other hotels to gamble. My one complaint is that the staff was not as friendly as I read in some of the reviews. I had mixed experiences with the hotel staff...some were really friendly and others were very standoffish...but not rude. But, overall my experience with The Orleans was FANTASTIC. My husband and I have decided we will stay there next time we go to Las Vegas. It really is the best deal in Las Vegas. I heard the rating of the hotel was 3 star, but I must say that it comes across as a 4 star. And I can't wait until we stay there next!
Wow, what an holiday. Abslotely fantasic hotel, clean spacious, friendly staff and great facilities. America goes over the top with things. This hotel was real class and the staff did everything possible to make your stay. We eve had room servic at 2am. The hotel food was... more
