" wouldnt choose this hotel again "

In celebration of my mum and dads 25th wedding anniversairy, the 4 of us jetted off for a 2 week break touring san francisco and las vegas.
the hotel we stayed in in vegas (circus circus) was i think the oldest out of all the hotels on the strip, and when you compared it with other hotels such as belagio, mirage, whynn... it showed :/. the room itself in our hotel was clean and hygenic with ok facilities i guess. but we were promised 'gorgeous views of the famous las vegas strip'. and all we got (being on the 16th floor and our room turned away from the strip) was the view of the air con system- quite noisy too :(. the hotel was MASSIVE. and i mean actually huge. you wont beleve how big it is until you have been. =O. it was hard to find our way around at first but after about 3 days we stopped getting lost and ended up in the right tower! =D. on our first evening we were very hungry so decided to eat at the mexitalia express- DONT. its not very nice. but the garden grill was lovely and we ate there most nights. *thumbs up*. the circus in the hotel was a HUGE dissapointment. we were expecting a proper circus and can i tell you it is far from it. the acts are good but dont last long. the adventuredome was good but quite expensive however ride queues were short which was good :). when we were in vegas we went on a grand canyon visit. went by a mini plane. we visited the west rim. we were told by other travellers DONT go on bus as it take 8 hours and nearly everyone on the bus throwing up. we had a helicopter ride around grand canyon and a boat trip on the colorado river in the grand canyon :) an amazing day but we were slightly rushed for time. we also went on the skywalk- not as good as they say. but worth a look :) another daytrip we went on was to the hoover dam. very factual. on the way back you also get to go to the choc facotry.. if you think you'll be getting lots of free samples think again! one measly choc is all you get!.
in vegas shopping in caesars palace and a visit to m&m world are a must do. also, you MUST go to the venetian and go on a gondala ride :). try to go in all the hotels, they are all fab, once in a lifetime experiance *thumbs up*. so have fun in vegas! its a wonderful place with so much to do and see. a real different thing to do. GOGOGO and enjoy ;) xx

Advice: amazing place once in a lifetime experience :D

Activities: all of the hotels, grand canyon west, hoover dam, etc...

" This hotel was described as 4... "

This hotel was described as 4 star...but i would say 2 star at best. It was packed to the rafters so maybe we were unlucky with our room. The plugs were hanging off the wall, and you get an electrostatic shock from any metal you touch. The circus was rubbish and the casino outdated. The theme park was good but expensive. It is quite far from main casinos (20 min walk). Weather was hot in day and freezing at night.
I loved Vegas and would pay a bit more next time to stay in better hotel, but part of a package.

" This hotel was larger than life.... "

This hotel was larger than life. There was a huge reception area with check in, queries and bell services.

The rooms were the largest hotel rooms I have ever seen. There were 2 double beds, TV, bathroom which was very clean, table, wardrobe plus a view across the circus tent. There was lots to do in the hotel.

There was wide variety of restaurants from cafe style to full 3 course dining. There are 3 casinos, with waitresses offering drinks for players. There are 2 newsagent shops plus many other shops.

There is no need to book a taxi back to the airport as they are waiting outside reception. This was a really well priced hotel for the strip.

" I would recommend this hotel to... "

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It has everything you need: shops, restaurants, gambling of course; it even has a McDonalds all within the hotel and there are much more just a few steps out!!! It’s at the end of the strip but it’s a good place to start walking because thats what you do in Vegas, you walk in and out of all the hotels taking in what they have to offer so you only book a hotel to sleep in and Vegas never sleeps.

It may be more dated than some of Vegas’ other hotels but it’s a fraction of the price. Its clean, well presented and I think the rooms are great. What more could you want? Its Vegas, everything’s better than what we're used to here.

To me this was luxury anyway, I've stayed in the Paris Hotel, the Excalibur and Circus Circus twice and I'll stay at the Circus Circus every time. I'd rather use the extra pence for gambling or a nice meal instead of wasting it on a room I'm never in.

" We stayed at this hotel as part of... "

We stayed at this hotel as part of our Western Renegade Fly Drive tour with Virgin holidays. The tour was fantastic one of our best holidays, however this hotel was poor compared to our other hotels on the tour.

Firstly check in at the hotel was over an hour, standing in a massive queue, there were plenty of check-in staff but the process seemed to take forever. Next we were on the 28th floor which seemed to have never been re-decorated since the hotel opened! The quality of the room was very poor, although being that high up we did get a nice view of the Las Vegas strip! Worst of all was the bathroom which was not very clean, the bedlinen was very old and worn, and the fittings were generally not in good repair.

The casino was ok, not as plush as the other hotels on the strip but we managed to leave with a $1 profit so perhaps better payouts than some of the casinos!!

The vibe was totally different in this hotel/casino to the others on the strip, not as fun and in need of an overhaul. I have stayed in the Luxor before, which was fab, so I felt disappointed with the poor quality in the Circus Circus. I would not stay there again.

" We stayed here in November whilst on... "

We stayed here in November whilst on a road trip. Spent 3 nights at this hotel.

I booked this hotel because of the price, trying to keep the budget down and being in Vegas, we wouldn't spend much time in our room. It turned out to be an awful stay.

We finally checked in, (it took an hour!) we got to our room that was old and drab. The bed was so old that it was difficult to get comfy. As for the carpets, they were almost sticky, Like the floor in a bar at closing!

On top of all this, the staff were rude and unhelpful.

Would not recommend this hotel even to my enemy! There are much better hotels in Vegas at the same price range.

" A few years ago Las Vegas was not a... "

A few years ago Las Vegas was not a resort for a family holiday, but now all that has changed, and Circus Circus is an ideal hotel for a family to stay in.

There is plenty to keep the children amused and occupied during the evenings after a day out on different excursions. There are two open air swimming pools. Both excellently maintained, with life guards supervising at all times.

Be prepared, however, for a long queue at check-in, which is a bit irritating after a long flight from the U.K.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the housekeeping is excellent.

There are several places to eat in Circus Circus, the Buffet, and Pink Pony Restaurants being very popular. The food is first class, with an excellent selection. However, once again be prepared for long queues unless you are prepared to eat earlier or later than usual.

The hotel is buzzing with people, along the walkways and in the casino. The casino and range of slots is immense, although Circus Circus is not really for the dedicated gambler, although the comps are excellent.

A very good, affordable hotel for family holidays.

" Went to Las Vegas for a 2 week... "

Went to Las Vegas for a 2 week holiday, now 2 weeks is way too long for Vegas!

Stayed in Circus Circus it is on the strip near the top end. Now we paid something ridiculous like £8 per night which was fab. The hotel is huge! but it is Vegas I guess.

Now for us a room was just to leave stuff and sleep in, and for that it was fab. The room was very big had a massive bed and lots of space to move around in had two big chairs and a table. We had a good view of the strip from our window the TV was good and worked fine the bathroom was clean and tidy and that was all we wanted.

Circus Circus itself was mad lots to see and do in the hotel had some lovely meals there. We also got like a points card for when you were playing on machines you just pop it in and you earn points it was free, we only realised a day before we left how to use it properly and when we went to hand it back we had earned enough points for $60 cash and $110 to use in a restaurant. We went to the steakhouse in the hotel and it was absolutely fantastic one of the best meals I have ever had!!

The hotel also had a massive crispy crème shop so went there a lot, Macys was just outside the whole place just buzzed it was amazing.

If you’re just interested in somewhere safe clean and tidy somewhere to sleep and drop stuff of then this is for you if you want luxury then this isn’t for you.

For us it fitted the bill and will be going back asap!

" The Circus Circus is a great hotel... "

The Circus Circus is a great hotel & you get what you pay for. If you want 5* luxury then this is not the hotel for you. It may need some updating but how long in a city like Vegas do you really spend in your room.

I’ve stayed in some of Vegas's top hotels as I come here twice a year. Most hotels you feel like you have to be loaded & dressed up every minute of every day. The Circus Circus is so laid back & casual it's much more fun. When you get there sign up for a club card you put this in the slots or show it when gambling & you earn points. The last time we were there we got our room & all our food for free and we even got over £200 cash back on our departure.

We have booked to go again in November only to be told our entire stay was free including all our food etc and we have been upgraded to a suite.

" Just returned from staying at Circus... "

Just returned from staying at Circus Circus and had a great time. Myself and 5 friends from the uk (between the ages 22-35) stayed here. We were a little worried after reading reviews. But we had nothing to worry about everything was fine.

When booking in we were given lots of room options, we all had great views from the rooms (Strip & Stratosphere Hotel) The rooms were all very clean and the maids were great (we tipped $1 a day). The lifts were quite busy at morning and evening but didn’t have to wait too long for the next one.

The buffet restaurant is great value $11 for breakfast (£5.50 pp). Lots of choice eg. Scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, hash browns, French toast, pancakes, waffles, fruit, cereal, muffins, donuts, cakes etc.

Garden Grill for evening meal, prepare yourself they are massive meals. My partner and i would often share two starters for our meal (waffle fries and chilli & popcorn chicken) this would cost about $10 for both of us to eat and you get so much that we were full.

The casinos are great in the hotel, any drink you want whilst playing eg. Corona, Bud, Vodka and mixer, water, pina colada, baileys etc from cocktail waitress just tip them a dollar note or chip and they will return with next drink within ten mins. You don’t even have to be playing a lot really you could just sit at a 5c machine and they will ask you.

Deuce bus stop outside hotel (slot of fun part of circus circus) this bus travels on the strip to every hotel, buy a $5 ticket and u can travel all day on any bus. Don’t worry bout missing stop the bus driver has microphone and announces every stop.

If possible try not to go out till later in the evening as this is when it is busy and a lot more fun on table games, Often we would be going to bed at 1am and the hotel would just be getting busy.

If you are going, try and go for more than a week, we went for 6 days and this was no way long enough, their is so much to see. Go and see the Bellagio Fountains (wow) Ceasers paalce, new york new york, paris etc, You could spend a day in each one.

For those of you who like shopping, shopping mall near Wynn hotel (bus stop outside) it’s massive. Big catwalk in middle of mall, models showing clothes you can buy in mall.
hope you find these tips useful. Any questions I’m happy to help with.

" OK hotel with an excellent breakfast... "

OK hotel with an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is a little dated compared to others on the Las Vegas strip.

For those with young kids or on a tight budget makes a super base in this exciting city.

Rooms are clean but make sure you get a high rise one so that the view can be appreciated.

" Circus Circus would have a 10 rating... "

Circus Circus would have a 10 rating if it were solely based on the hotel. But the hotel does not run itself. Upon check in, I signed what I thought was just confirming our dates, the rates, etc. I am in a wheelchair and due to the height of the counter, I was unable to see the paperwork very good. That is partly my fault.

Upon entering our room, I noticed on the paper we were only scheduled for 3 nights. I made reservations for 5 nights and have the name of the employee who set it up. I was quoted $49.95 for three nights and $59.95 for the last two nights.

I called downstairs to clear up the matter and the gentleman was quite helpful in adding the additional nights as originally stated. But.... the price was $189.95/night for the remaining two nights. I told him that we were quoted $59.95 but he refused to honour that and never acknowledged the employee made a mistake. I had all the information written down, including her name, but he still refused. He kept saying I signed the paper stating three nights and that was the agreement.

We ended up having to waste half a day on Thursday packing up and moving to another motel. Check out was 11am at Circus Circus and Check in at the other motel was 3pm. They had no room to hold our luggage until we checked in so we could go on about our day. We had to sit in the hotel lobby for almost 4 hours. I was not happy but was just glad to find another hotel. By the way, we will be staying at the latter hotel next time we go to Vegas.

Circus Circus is a nice hotel, do not get me wrong. The room was magnificent. The circus act was a bit cheesy and the handicapped access to the circus was terrible. But it is geared to parents with children in tote. The games and activities at adventure dome are very expensive, so parents need to keep that in mind when planning a budget.

The food was mediocre, but pricy. $11.95 for an average tasting buffet. A lot of frozen type pastries for breakfast.

It is a budget friendly hotel in theory but obviously they get you there for one price and you get another price once you get there. They figure people will just go for it and not argue. Not this girl. I would NOT pay $189.95 for ANY hotel room. The manager was rude and needs some serious lessons in customer service. I will never be back and probably most people I come into contact with that ask about Circus Circus will not be back. That is a lot of business to lose over one judgement decision made by a cocky manager. Common business sense would say to take the customer paying $59./night and keep them happy and telling happy stories about the hotel, rather than leave the hotel room sitting empty two nights and having someone leave with negative experiences to tell about.

" My son was married in Las Vegas last... "

My son was married in Las Vegas last year and we all decided to go. It was a surprise and we had to take what the holiday company had available. We stayed at Circus Circus. I looked up people's comments on the internet to see how this hotel was reported to be. There were not many good reports. How ever if you go to Las Vegas the only thing you do in your hotel is sleep.

We found that this hotel had clean rooms and was very friendly to the disabled, in Nevada disabled people do not queue for anything this was really good. We ate one meal a day in Circus Circus and this was breakfast, where there was a large selection of food well cooked. Only once did we eat dinner in the hotel and it was a bit disappointing. There were other places which had better food.

There were 3 pools but we preferred the smallest one where there were not too many children, having said that Circus Circus was a great hotel for families. Children were having a ball helping themselves to ice cream from the dispensers.

Circus Circus, lived up to its name, there is a circus above the casino with clowns, trapeze acts etc; a great feature for kids. Circus also boasts the biggest indoor fun park in the world where kids could stay all day. Many families took advantage of The Adventure Dome. Despite all its bad reviews we found that Circus Circus very comfortable; with 2 queen size beds in the room or 1 king size bed. It was clean and and friendly.

Maybe the gambler with a family could strike a happy medium by staying at Circus. We enjoyed ourselves so much when we stayed there for one week; that we booked 3 weeks in September this year. Maybe we will be able to see all the sights. Each themed hotel is a wonderful source of free entertainment, Ceasers Palace (Roman), Paris, New York New York, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay with Man made beach and surf size waves, Treasure Island, The Venetian (complete with canals and gondolas), The MGM Grand (with lion habitat) etc. In the Downtown area there is the Fremont Street experience a great light show, all the original hotels and casinos are downtown. There is a beautiful fountain show set to music at the Belagio, this is quite moving.

The shopping is great; there are designer stores in hotels Louis Vuiton, Prada, Vesace etc. There are also Malls with cut price designer outlets. There is also an antique mall and the biggest gift shop in the world; selling Native American goods. All in all Vegas is a great place to holiday; it has something for everyone even if you don't gamble.

" Two of us went on this particular... "

Two of us went on this particular holiday; myself and my fiancé. We flew in from Fresno, California, with America West, which was a nice start to the break.

We stayed at Circus Circus, which is a very basic hotel, although great for the price, because of the location on the strip. We paid $39.95/night, which we felt was about right. We stayed in the Mannor Lodge at the back, which are quite basic rooms, but neat and tidy and definitely a steal if all you need the room for is a bit of sleep between exploring!

Our favourite casino was the Riviera casino, especially Penny Land, because the slots were loose and drinks frequent. There is also a section at the back in which to purchase food for $1. The food was anything from prawn cocktails, to sandwiches, chips and hotdogs. Great for a quick snack.

We also visited Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay ($15.95 per person). Although the exhibit was quite small, and maybe a but expensive, we really enjoyed it-especially the huge shark tank.
