We have been to the Ekaterini now for 6 years.
Every time we go and we get past Lardos and over the hill it is just like coming home.
Giannis, Stella and the rest of the family are always pleased to see you.
Great value for a family holiday. The apartments are very spacious and all have a balcony.
You do need a car to get around the island as Kiotari is out of the hustle and bustle of the main tourist resorts.
It is unspoilt by tourism and also very traditional.

Although this is rated 2 star, I believe the quality of the apartments is closer to a 3 or 4 star. This is a great resort with fantastic people always willing to help.
I thoroughly recommend this to any family of 4 or less as a friendly, relaxing place to stay where you can indulge in water sports and various other activities.

We went here 3-4 years ago, theysaid the hotel had just had the rug pulled from under them by a big holiday company pulling out all their bookings, it was for 2 days like Fawlty Towers as the staff mostly family and friends battled to deal with, for them was a disaster, I think staff were layed off, they rallied....
For us it was a fantastic friendly place to stay, nothing was too much trouble, my wife was very ill while there, the manager run us 15 or so miles to Lardos to get tablets from chemist whose advice was as good as any brit doctor, the manager wouldn't even take petrol money!I don't know if Stella is the full time cook but she was great, another family member... they live in village up mountain road opposite apartments.
People in this village pick you up on the corner and drive you up there its beautiful 6-7th century church, and so genuinely friendly, top place real Greece, great food, great bar, Yanis I think the barman's name (family again).
We are in process now of trying to book here, my wife's 1st holiday since we stayed there, something tells me it will just as good, that's what you get with family run hotels... and yes we've done all the Thompson golds!
