Great time again this year. Last year took a three centre holiday and had four days in Vegas but was too tired by the third day to really enjoy it. This year however, we had ten days at the Strat again. Stratosphere is a bit worn out in places, but was spotlessly clean in... more

Had an amazing time at the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas. The whole Las Vegas experience is mind blowing. The lights, the casinos, the people, it’s amazing. Hotel was like nowhere I've ever stayed before. The hotel was attached to the stratosphere tower. Which at the... more

My wife, myself and six friends travelled to Vegas to celebrate my 40th birthday. We booked our flights and hotel separately on the internet flying with BMI and staying at the Stratosphere hotel. The Stratosphere is not one of the most opulent hotels; however it was nice... more

When I first read the reviews of this hotel I was a little worried but I booked anyway as it was the cheapest. However I was very impressed, large clean quiet rooms. Excellent staff service and good facilities. The restaurants were all excellent. The only downside if you... more

Me and me girlfriend visited Vegas for a friend's wedding. We stayed at the Stratosphere for the first 4 nights before moving onto the Gold Coast. The Stratosphere is OK - nothing really to rave about. Most hotels in Vegas have a unique feel about them; however this place... more

Just come back from Las Vegas or 'sin city' as it known and had a great time. It was my birthday and as the stratosphere is one of the cheaper hotels, we had a week here for about less than 500 pound each. One word of warning when coming in February is that the weather can... more

If you want a holiday that you will always remember then this is it. This hotel is fantastic, very friendly staff and everyone in Vegas seems to be on a buzz. The rooms are big, clean and cheap during the week (but triple price at weekends) and are very comfy. The... more

The hotel is situated in a good location right between the main strip and the old Vegas area. There are plenty of transport options if you don’t fancy the 2 mile walk down the length of the strip. The hotel also has an excellent casino on site and other amenities such as... more

An excellent budget hotel offering all the delights of Las Vegas. The rooms were well appointed for the money paid, and all members of staff I spoke with were helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel, at the top end of the "strip" means you have to travel several... more

Don't go to this hotel
Hi Everybody, Here is my experience with this hotel I have lived in this hotel from 29 Jun to 1 Jul. I swear that i will never lived in the hotel anymore in my lifetime. It is the worst hotel i have ever seen. Location: The location of the hotel is very north end of strips. It is far away from central area of strips like MGM, Treasure Island.. You can go there only by car. Don't imagine to go to strips on foot, you will regret. Room condition: We are arranged on 6th floor. The room is tidy and clean, the room service is acceptable. However, it is a very very NOICY room. When it is around 9-11am (checkout time), the sound coming from door make you can't sleep anymore. The safe in the room does not work when you call the room service, they said "Every safe like that, you can't use safe in the room. If you want to keep your thing securely, ask frontdesk for service" (So what is the use of the safe ? For decoration ?) Customer service: Their staff is poorly or even no trainned. They provide NO customer service on their frontdesk. They never have smile on their face. May be because we are Asian, the staff over there will never have patience on us. They will try to answer your question on your first try. However, they will turn their face and pretend cannot listen our question when we ask more. They never pay attention to us and even an eye contact. They answer our question with job on their hand. The Bell boy service is also terrible. The story is we checked out on 1 Jul. We have several heavy baggage with us when we checked out and we are ask for baggage service from the hotel so we can enjoy our last day in Las Vegas. The Frontdesk staff just ask us to WALK to baggage service with baggage carried by ourselves. We don't even have balley trolley even there is one nearby. When we arrive near the baggage service counter, there is a bell boy SIT beside the baggage trolley. I am surely that he can see us with heavy baggage on our back walking towards him, he just stand and do nothing and wait for us to walk near and does not even TRY to help. We put out baggage on the baggage trolley by ourselves and he just STAND STILL and does not even provide a helping hand. What is he busy with ? (You can guess) he is taking a pack of one dollar notes from his trousers and asking for tips. Will you give tips to this bell boy at this time ? Finally, we refuse to give him any tips because we can accept such kind of service. The nightmare is when we get our baggage back from them later on, we found that some of our baggage is damaged because of rude. Also we have booked a shuttle bus to airport from hotel. However, because of the traffic condition, we get late. When we ask for their help. They say " Because you late, no one can help you now, take a taxi or try you luck to wait to see if the shuttle come back" (What a meaningful answer?). With such kind of service, i don't recommend anyone to live in there except you are going to look what bad service means. Don't let this hotel to destroy the happiness of the trip in Las Vegas. Stay away from this hotel
worst experience ever!
I came here for a fun birthday trip. Upon an unfriendly check in, we got to our room. The bathroom sink was filled with hair. As if someone had shaved their entire body and tried, unsuccessfull, to put it down the sink. We called the front desk who sent up housekeeping, who then had to request a plumber. Not a good impression. It seemed to both my friend and I that no one was real happy to be at work. Unfriendly waitstaff, bossy maids. Everyone wanted a tip, but no one was nice about it. Viva Las Vegas, the show was funny and I do recommend that one thing.
Good service, great base
A huge hotel obviously in a city where nothing is small. We were well taken care of, superb room, well equipped and on the 16th floor an astounding view down the strip and towards the mountains where the sun was setting, a great place to stay at a resonable cost. We didn't go for the slots but we got drawn to them, but the bar staff were very generous with their comps which made the gambling easier. Just one prob, the Strip, don't drive down it use Paradise instead it takes half the time or any back road really.
Liked the Stratosphere
We Stayed at the Stratosphere June 22-29, 2003. We Purchased our tickets online for $39 a night. The check in took about 15 mins because there was a long line. I read a review on here about someone getting a room that was dirty and the view was facing a wall...well we got that room!! The bathroom had a layer of scum on the shower walls. We went down and complained. The man at the desk was very kind and helpful. He said the room was in the older section and they were going to be remodeling them soon. He put us in a room on the 19th floor with a great view of some of the strip and the swimming pool. The bathroom was spacious and clean and had a jacuzzi tub. They Strat is nice because it is easy to find your way around inside and the atmosphere is pleasant. The machines and tables are placed nicely and it isn't as crowded as the hotels mid-strip. It isn't tacky loud, dingy, and glaring like Circus Circus or Rivera. The shopping area is pleasant and we really enjoyed the buffet. They staff there was very friendly and helpful. We rented a car from Thrifty and were very pleased. We will definitely stay at the Stratosphere again.
Good Value, Great Time!
We recently took our first family vacation to Las Vegas on June 23-25 and stayed at the Stratosphere. I had done a fair amount of research before we left and must admit that I had some concerns after readings some of the reviews. All that I have to say is that overall, the Stratosphere is a great value and clean, comfortable place. You do get what you pay for, and the people who complain endlessly in their reviews obviously don't realize that this isn't the Venetian or MGM Grand. The $39.00/night price was a steal, especially since we needed two rooms. The hotel isn't brand-spankin' new, but still very clean. Check-in took a little while, but was not too unreasonable since the line was quite long. The rooms were comfortable and clean, although one room did have some stains on the carpet. The bathrooms were clean, and surprisingly roomy. However, the walls are thin and I would advise asking for a room away from both the elevator and employee hallways. We were on the 6th floor across the elevator and next to one of those halls and could hear everything the employees said. Usually we were so tired at night that we fell asleep instantly and it didn't really bother us. If you are a light sleeper, however, ask for something away from the noise. Also keep in mind that a good majority of the rooms like ours face the base of the tower. Don't expect a spectacular view of the Strip unless you ask for one. Safes are provided in the rooms, but one of ours was broken. The staff was very polite and efficient. The Stratosphere is located at the north end of the strip so I'd advise using a car or the city transit system. We usually just drove our car down to someplace like Ceasar's Palace that's located in the middle of the Strip and walked around from there. The Stratosphere's shops are pretty fun and the observation deck offers a great view of the city. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and we really enjoyed ourselves. If you're looking for a great deal at a great price, the Stratosphere is definitely it!
Stratosphere average overall
We stayed 2 nights here and found it to be very average. The rooms were very average, the gambling was a little above average ($3 tables), and the buffet was below average. The only thing about this place I do not recommend is the buffet. There is a large selection, but poor quality. Spend your money eating somewhere else.
Really enjoyed our stay
Last month my husband and I took our first trip to Las Vegas. We stayed at the Stratosphere Hotel and had a great time. We stayed in one of their jacuzzi suites, which was really nice after a tiring day of walking in the heat. There isn't really anything bad to say about the hotel, over all we had a very enjoyable experience and feel we got the most for our money.
Stratesphere was mostly great
Criticisms first. The check-in line was ridiculous. It took thirty minutes just to wait in line to get to a check-in person. The second criticism is that the hotel made a mistake on my registration. They had a miscommunication with the internet booking agent, which nearly left us without a room for a night. However, they were very polite and made the situation right with a little investigation. After that, the experience was GREAT. Tables are very reasonable in price. The gaming staff is friendly. Comps are great! We are $5 players and ended up with 4 meals comped, although we did spend a lot of time at the tables. Room was better than I expected from the price. Good experience after the false start.
Would definitely stay again
Some people complain about the distance from the rest of the strip. With a rental car, I found this to be no problem at all. The hotel affords easy access to Paradise Road and to Industrial Road (once you learn the local streets). This way you can bypass all of the congestion of the strip but still have access to it. Having stayed in one of the newer rooms, I thought it was just fine and very reasonably priced (with a nice view of the strip, yet!)
Way too far down
Stayed at the Stratosphere May 25 through May 30. It was way too far down the strip. There was construction going on all around the hotel - very ugly. They advertised safe's in the room but ours didn't work. The hotel room was okay - but I won't stay here again.
