Had an amazing time at the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas. The whole Las Vegas experience is mind blowing. The lights, the casinos, the people, it’s amazing.
Hotel was like nowhere I've ever stayed before. The hotel was attached to the stratosphere tower. Which at the top has the world’s highest rollercoaster and 3 other rides, which the public can use even if u are not actually staying in the hotel.
In the hotel itself is a shopping mall, a McDonalds and a star bucks. With countless other restaurants and of course the famous Las Vegas live shows. The stratosphere also has the world’s highest wedding chapel, situated at the top of the tower.
The rooms where clean and tidy with great views of the Las Vegas strip. Will definitely be returning again to Las Vegas and to the Stratosphere.

My wife, myself and six friends travelled to Vegas to celebrate my 40th birthday.
We booked our flights and hotel separately on the internet flying with BMI and staying at the Stratosphere hotel.
The Stratosphere is not one of the most opulent hotels; however it was nice clean and reasonably priced. If you haven't seen a Vegas casino/hotel before (as I hadn't) you'll be amazed at the sheer size.
The actual stratosphere tower is around about 1000ft high and there are three rides on top. Two of them hang you over the edge of the hotel while the third sits on top and shoots you vertically straight up in the air about 50ft above the top of the tower. On the casino floor there are 4 bars, 3 restaurants, and 2 cafes. There is also McDonalds and pizza hut on the first floor shopping area, and there are two star bucks’ coffee shops, one of which is situated at the top of the tower.
The rooms are very spacious, clean with two queen sized beds, plenty of storage space and TV with cable channels. There are no refreshment facilities in the rooms, just a clock radio. Tea or coffee would have been nice in the room, but if you want that you have to use room service.
The outside swimming pool area on the 8th floor is again really clean and there is a bar area serving beer and snacks, be careful not to overdo it with the sun though, it gets a lot hotter than you'd notice up there.
All the staff are really friendly and polite and everything is reasonably priced, you can pay around $8 for a basic breakfast or around $18 for all you can eat breakfast. The food is pretty good with plenty of choice; however with around 2500 rooms in the hotel, the eateries do get busy at popular meal times.
The Stratosphere is located at the end of the famous strip and I thought it was a little out of the way, but a friend who had stayed there before said that it was a godsend as the noise drives you crazy when you stay at the hub of the strip. Access to the main area of the strip is easy enough, a couple of hundred yards from the stratosphere entrance is the monorail which takes you right up to the heart of the strip, a 10 ride ticket was $35, which equates to about £1.75 per journey.
Overall there are better hotels to stay in, in Vegas but they will cost you a lot more, the transfers from the airport take about 15-20 minutes and cost very little.
The Stratosphere is a lovely friendly hotel, where the bars open all night, and there is free entertainment every night (Monday is best when they have a jam session with a lot of the artists appearing from the other hotels on the strip getting together to just have a laugh while playing great music). The hotel is clean and tidy and we liked it so much we are going back there in May next year!

When I first read the reviews of this hotel I was a little worried but I booked anyway as it was the cheapest.
However I was very impressed, large clean quiet rooms. Excellent staff service and good facilities. The restaurants were all excellent.
The only downside if you can call it that, is that it the furthest point away on the strip but with the excellent transport in Vegas this is not a problem. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Me and me girlfriend visited Vegas for a friend's wedding.
We stayed at the Stratosphere for the first 4 nights before moving onto the Gold Coast.
The Stratosphere is OK - nothing really to rave about. Most hotels in Vegas have a unique feel about them; however this place is just a modern hotel. There's nothing wrong with it - the rooms are clean, bars nice, nice staff etc etc.
The attraction of the Stratosphere is the tower - definitely worth a trip to the top and best at night when you can catch the neon-ness of Vegas at its best!
There are rollercoaster’s up there too for the more daring - I preferred to watch!
To summarise - this hotel is definitely worth going to see, however you can get much cheaper places down the strip that have a bit more about them!

Stratosphere was a brilliant hotel to stay in. We arrived and got checked in. We had booked a double room, but when we arrived they had no double room ready at that time, so we got offered a Big room with TWO HUGE QUEEN size beds!! His & Hers!! Brilliant! Staff were friendly, and even offered us some gambling tips!
The room didn't really have much of a view but it was well equipped... hair dryer, big tv with gambling channels free view! Good size bathroom and plenty of storage space for suitcases and clothes etc.
Lovely restaurants especially the 50's style diner Roxy's! Live singers daily. Very entertaining while you wait for your food. Shops are good, sell a lot of souvenirs etc.
Tower is the best part of the hotel for me as I'm not really much of a gambler. Do try the "Big Shot" its over 1000 ft high! Its got an amazing view of the strip from above! wow! Do try that! They also have the oh so famous starbucks coffee shop "in the clouds". Nice to enjoy while taking in the lovely views. Great buffet available, but this does attract everyone so get there early to avoid the queues!
Shuttle buses arrive outside the hotel which is good, but I would not recommend you take the "trolly" service. These buses are mapped out in colours and the green one is the one that serves the stratosphere, we took this bus to get around the strip, but it takes for ever to get from one place to another, not recommended at all. Take the more "normal" looking bus, plus its got good air conditioning too, that's a bonus!
Taxi's are regular outside the hotel, but late in the evening there does tend to be big long queues, so head out a little earlier if you want to avoid the queues!
The casino floor had a friendly casual atmosphere day and night! free drinks 24/7! Not bad!
All in all, I would recommend a stay at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino!!

Just come back from Las Vegas or 'sin city' as it known and had a great time. It was my birthday and as the stratosphere is one of the cheaper hotels, we had a week here for about less than 500 pound each.
One word of warning when coming in February is that the weather can be rather cold, as it was with snow/sleet one day and cold blustery winds nearly every day. One consolation was that it was sunny nearly every day even though it was cold.
The stratosphere is located right at the end of the strip, but it is good value, we had an excellent size room, even though the view outside was of the generators providing power. To sum up great value hotel with some great value restaurants, good shopping facilities, and a great big gambling area that in my mind the best for atmosphere in vegas.

Great hotel were very helpful in providing us with a room that was near to our friends.
Room was clean and very spacious and the facilities were adequate. Only unexpected pay out was the room fee when you checked in.
The Stratosphere is at the far end of the strip and on the edge of down town. It is a long way between hotels and its very deceiving because they are so large.
You will spend a lot of money on tax's and tips. Be careful at the airport, they see you coming and charge you double, but your so hot you don’t care. We went round in the biggest circle, whatever they try and talk you out of don’t do it.
Make sure if you are going to gamble in their casino that you take out there reward card, you can exchange points for prizes and vouchers.
I didn’t know about it till we were near the end of our trip so I was quite disappointed to find out I could have bin rewarded points for playing and for winning, and I did win!
There is so much to see in Vegas and we only had a week, there is no way you can see everything in that time, but saying that there is not a lot to do really either, apart from endlessly walking the strip from one hotel to another.
Unless you have loads of money to spend on outings, once you have gambled in one hotel the rest are the same really.
The hotels are amazing and I don’t know anywhere else that you would find that.
And don’t go to Ethel M's chocolate factory either, it’s in the middle of know where, we paid loads in a taxi to get there and it was not worth it, very expensive and most of it was shut, buy it from the Belagio its cheaper.

If you want a holiday that you will always remember then this is it. This hotel is fantastic, very friendly staff and everyone in Vegas seems to be on a buzz. The rooms are big, clean and cheap during the week (but triple price at weekends) and are very comfy.
The atmosphere on the Casino floor is mind blowing. I sat at a Roulette table with four complete American strangers, but it felt that we had known each other for years. Three hours later I was $600 up! There is so much to see and do in this hotel. There are restaurants inside the hotel that are open at all hours. I had steak and Cherry pie at 0700 hours. Great. The shops are awesome but a little pricey and the rides at the top of the Hotel are great. Warning, if you don’t have a head for heights then avoid it. I went up and, wow. What a view.
To sum up, the people, staff, hotel, service, food, views and atmosphere are 10/10.

The hotel is situated in a good location right between the main strip and the old Vegas area. There are plenty of transport options if you don’t fancy the 2 mile walk down the length of the strip.
The hotel also has an excellent casino on site and other amenities such as a pool, fitness suite and access to the rides atop the tower are all included in the resort fee of $5 per day. This also includes other items such as free show tickets and discount parking. The rooms in the hotel are of a decent size and plenty of room to accommodate the family. Other facilities are included such as washer and dryers if needed. Free access to the tower area is available during certain afternoon times. The atmosphere in the casino itself is safe and inviting with no trouble.
Plenty of restaurants and buffets available and things to see and do without gambling. Very enjoyable holiday and for the budget continuous a viable option to the off strip hotels which are more difficult to reach by foot or public transport. The nearest monorail station is in the samara casino which is about a 5 min walk from the hotel.

An excellent budget hotel offering all the delights of Las Vegas.
The rooms were well appointed for the money paid, and all members of staff I spoke with were helpful and friendly.
The location of the hotel, at the top end of the "strip" means you have to travel several miles to reach the main casinos such as Caesars and the MGM, however, thanks to the new monorail system this is not a problem. The monorail stops at the Sahara Casino, which is only several hundreds yards from the Stratosphere.
The Stratosphere offers a wide range of eating and drinking locations, with an excellent all day buffet.
The thrill rides, and the tower itself are some of the best attractions in Las Vegas.

Had a great holiday. I travelled on my own every one was so helpful.
My room was lovely I even had two double beds in it. Plenty of food even seconds if wanted at no extra charge in the hotels restaurant. I even won £2500 at the casino the first night there. So I booked up to go on a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon and went shopping.
There was lots to do every casino had attraction to go to during the day, plus all the shows. I would love to go back.

Great time again this year. Last year took a three centre holiday and had four days in Vegas but was too tired by the third day to really enjoy it. This year however, we had ten days at the Strat again.
Stratosphere is a bit worn out in places, but was spotlessly clean in the rooms. All the bathroom equipment was in good working order as was expected. The room was clean and quite comfortable. (A room in my opinion is only for sleeping in and getting ready for time out of it).
The casino was good, as are all casinos in Vegas, complimentary drinks were provided when gambling, and as long as there was a minimum of ten bucks in the machine when the drinks waitress asked for your order, the service was fast and pleasant. (Leave $1 tip per drink).
We used Luckies Restaurant most mornings for breakfast between 8 and 9 am. The breakfast buffet cost $19 for both of us (about £4.50 each), but on holiday we always have a very hearty meal and don't eat again until quite late in the evening, usually about 9. It was good food, clean and with very nice staff who were always there to top up the coffee, and to clear away any used plates etc.
Good bus service in both directions from the hotel buy the day ticket, it costs $5 a day but can be used for unlimited travel around town the bus does however get caught up in the traffic around the strip centre at peak times but the busses although busy are frequent and the drivers are very helpful and friendly.
The bus can take a while to get to the busier part of the strip so the monorail offers a fair alternative. It goes from the back end of the Sahara hotel a short walk away. $9 sees you good for 24 hours and you don't get caught up in the traffic so you pays yer money and you take yer chances It is a bit of a walk from the stations through the casinos to the strip The bus last year held us captive for about 2 hours from one end of Vegas (The outlet centre) to the Strat but it was from 5.30 till 7.30 so watch the time you travel.
Good places to eat out:
Spice Market at Planet Hollywood.
Margarittaville (if you want a good burger).
Top of the world at the Strat (expensive, but very good).
To recap Stratosphere hotel:
Not the most expensive or luxurious hotel in Las Vegas but really good value for money.
Staff friendly and very helpful.
Casino is as good as any on the strip (better than many). Restaurants were generally good.
Try the rides at the top of the tower The BIG SHOT is really good (no really it is really good) but I personally didn't like the idea of hanging off the side of the tower 950 odd feet above the town on the other two rides so cannot give any opinion on then.
We are going back this year but are going to try another hotel nearer to the centre of the strip.
