Don't stay at this horrible hotel ran by arrogant staff, except Toni the bar owner/worker. The rooms don't get cleaned properly and the sheets don't get changed at all. One of the cleaners stole my mobile phone which was zipped up in a pocket in my bag! When reported at reception ,they said "Oh no, that wouldn't happen we have very trustworthy cleaners." They don't help at all. The rooms are too warm to get a proper sleep.
But the main problem with the hotel is with a certain reception worker at night (old man, with glasses). I can't say here but basically he did something horrible to my brother's girlfriend when she needed help with locking the window. She was alone and he thought she was drunk obviously. Again, when reported, we were greeted by a smile and a nod of the head by a "non English speaking security man" but later we heard him speaking english. We reported it to the owner of the hotel and obviously he defended his employee and said that he wouldn't do such a thing.
GIRLS, DON'T TRAVEL ALONE AT NIGHT IN THIS HOTEL OR OUT ON THE TOWN OBVIOSULY.
- Advice: Just dont bother staying here

I stayed in this hotel with my friend in July for 10 nights and we were both so worried about staying here after all the reviews we read - but honestly, it just depends on how sensible you are.
A girl put on Facebook that she caught someone in her room one night but when we asked her about it, it turns out she left her balcony door open. If you are panicking about people getting into your balcony (because there were many people who stayed on the first floor who climbed into their balcony to get to their rooms instead of walking around, which showed potential thieves how easy it is to get in) request a second ground or higher floor room which is what we did.
The only criticism I have with this hotel is the security. If you go to bed at 1am and make no noise at all during the night then you will be fine, otherwise there could be issues.
Don't get me wrong - there were some nights that the security didn't bother us at all but one night, me and my friend got back around 2:30am and we had an early night. We were talking like normal on our beds and then there was a knock on the door - it was security telling us to be quiet. We didn't understand this as we weren't loud at all, but he did make a mistake as it was the girls above us. That was fine until a few nights later we had two friends in our room and we didn't make any noise which would have been complaint worthy. The minute we opened our balcony door we were given a warning which said we would be kicked out if we kept making loads of noise.
I can respect that it is his job to do this, but it was very annoying, especially when that same night there was people opposite us making such a racket until at least 6am.
We did also see many people who got kicked out because of noise - so be careful!!!!
Apart from that - everything was perfect! Make sure you ask for a fan - it costs 20euros but you get 10 back at the end of your stay. It isn't advertised and many people we spoke to from our hotel didn't know that you could rent a fan!
The food at the pool bar is gorgeous - recommend the breakfast!!! Tony the barman will stay in your hearts forever!! All the staff are very, very polite and friendly.
The location is perfection for young people who want the clubbing experience. It is literally a two min walk from the hotel and there are some fab restaurants around also.
There were some families in this hotel that didn't look impressed with all the groups of 18yr olds so I wouldn't recommend this hotel for people who are looking for a nice and relaxing getaway.
I hope this review has helped - get a safe and make sure your close your curtains and lock your doors before you leave!!! We had such a fab time!!!

Me and my partner are just back after spending 7 nights at hacienda del sol was a bit worried after reading the bad reviews on here but it was brilliant the bad reviews are wrong the rooms were clean and spacious maybe a bit old fashioned but they were nice. The staff were very friendly and their english was not bad the food at the the restaurant was very nice and tony the barman is lovely. Seen one cockroach and it was in the garden not in our room!. the pool was a bit on the small side and would not recoment elderly or familys as pool area can be quite lively and full of party people. The staff have no problem sorting out your complaints as we had a very noisey neighbour and the staff moved us rooms straight away also u have to check out your room by 12pm but our flight wasnt until midnite and they let us have the room until we left .would definitly reccoment this place.

Me and 7 other friends have just returned from a break away here. We stopped for 10 days and what can i say? it was everything I expected and more!
Its in an ideal location with loads of bars and restaurants etc - and only 2 minutes away from the beach! Staff at reception were friendly even if their english wasnt perfect.
Rooms were well furnished with spacious balconies. Whilst they lacked an oven, the two electric rings were suitable for cooking a decent meal on. The beds were comfy and the rooms clean. The only let down was the lack of airconditioning.
The guests are mostly english and aged between 18 and 30 - most people were friendly - definitely assisted by the local lager served by Den and his team at the hotel bar. At EUR 2.50 a pint its more expensive than other bars but the measures in the mixers are EXTREMELY generous!
At night the hotel is noisy but thats to be expected from the type of guests there! We did not see any trouble at all whilst we were there however as with all holiday destinations - get a safe in your room!
There are many local attractions including the volcano, watersports and of course Siam Park - the waterpark - an absolute must!
All in all a great place for young people looking to have a good time. Not a place for families or the elderly by any means!

just stayed in the hacienda for 7 nights me and three mates, had a great time in this hotel no problem with security guards treat them with respect they deserve and they will respect you back, its loud but fun and the pool bar is excellant, had no problems the week we stayed with any break ins but on the safe side be sure to get a safety deposit box, the mates i went with were in the age group of 40 plus and we still had a fantastic time even though this is a 18 to 30's, enjoy your holiday

I took my partner for his 36th birthday and was a little worried what i may find after the reviews. All i can say is how much we both loved it. It had everything we needed and the staff where really helpful. You are so close to the beech and the bars and yet at night it seemed quite in our apartment. We never went to the pool but we ate there one morning and again the staff where lovely and the food was nice.
We were only going for one week but we were cancelled flying due to the Ash cloud we were unable to get back in the hotel so we went to Destinys bar up the road on the right hand side who had lovely apartments. I must say go there for breakfeast its amazing English food. We both would love to go back to Tenerife but i think i opt for the destinys apartments with private pool than Hacienda del sol but still fab place to stay and i would def recommend it.

on arrival beutifull gardens .the self catering appartments had no freezer oven grill or mircrowaves . the beds were made out of thin wood and a child sized camp bed also no air conditioning . on the fourth day we asked for clean heets and got told no we only got them after a big argument .my main concern was how many people had had ther money credit cards and passports stolen. i witnessed a man crying and begging the police for help and they threatened to arrest him . he told them to as he would get help but they just left .i read reveiws after booking this holiday and thought it cant be that bad i wish i had took notice . at night the fun began us brits should be ashamed every night shouting screaming doors getting kicked in on our last night there a man beat his girlfreind so bad the police came and she was taken to hospital . i can not beleive that tour operators are selling this hotel to people it should be banned . please do not take children here its scary ,if u are going here keep everything locked up .

Having read the reviews on here before I went to Tenerife, I was dreading it a bit. However, our party had no problems whatsoever. It is basic, but there is a nice bar and pool on the complex, with 24 hr reception. I did over hear one person reporting stolen items from their room at reception. Camcorder, Camera and a watch. We used a safe. You can get pestered in Playa de las americas by sunglasses/watch sellers, but on the whole had a good holiday, weather was nice and beaches good. One pub that was awkward with customers was the dubliner!

Me and my two friends (one female, one male) decided we would like a weeks break somewhere hot and cheap. So we went to the travel agents and for the dates we required (4th-11th April) this place seemed to be perfect one, right in the heart of Playa de las Americas. We werent informed by our travel agents (mentioning no names) that it was infact a 2 star rating rather than the believed 3 star.
After reading a review concerning this we werent too sure what to expect but we were willing to give it a go, and believed self catering would be the best option, which it turned out to be. To be sure of our choice we decided to read reviews and we wish we hadnt, all were negative reporting break ins, rude staff ,you name it. Being a relatively new abroad holiday goer i worried myself a lot. Because of this we decided to go back to the travel agents and ask their opinion, they told us that all review sites were false opinions and not to worry- this settled most of our worries.
When we arrived at about 9.30pm we were disgusted at our room, how dull, and grotty it was. My friends had a sofa/bed each to sleep on and i had what we nicknamed a (prison bed) to sleep on that had missing wooden slats for a frame and a sand paper textured blanket, were were not impressed but determined to make the best of it as we wouldnt have to be spending much time in there, only for a shower which was mouldy and broken so you had to hold it above your head, the window was thick with rust and just horrible. The windows when we got there hadbeen left wide open, after our fears we locked them straight away and locked our carelessly open balcony door. Each night we took our room key out with us as reccomended by reviews instead of leaving it at reception, we also hired a safe for 20Euros to keep our valuables safely locked away.
On our second night i asked one security guard for some more pillows, politely and he replied rudely, and seemed to be annoyed that i had asked. Every night we went out this particular security guard would constantly stare at us on our way out and in (he had a shaved head and everytime we saw him he was outside of the hotel smoking with another member of security)
A particular night, we were walking upto the gates of the hotel (which should have been locked as always) and the same security guard was sat on a car bonnett, staring at us, and pulling funny looks which i found strange. The following night which was our last one there we went out to our favourite restaurant at around 9.30pm we returned at around 12.30am and was greeted at the gates with a very unusual wave from security.
Which we were a bit suspicious of. The following day we were packing our suitcases and i seemed to of misplaced a bottle of perfume boxed up and wrapped as a present for family back home, i looked everywhere and couldnt understand that i'd left it ontop of my suitcase the night before, then my friend after helping me look asked where his boxed up aftershave was, we coukdnt understand it......thenhe lookedin the wardrobe and said "where is my louis vutton holdall", he found the contents of the bag all emptied into our other friends bad and litter on the floor, we then checked the safe and thank goodness all of our passports and watches etc were still there.
We were fuming, so we went straight to reception to be greeted by a rude man who just wrote down a police number, he asked no questions or even showed any sympathy, so i thought why not tell the other guests, i went ahead and did so which he didnt like, and tutted at me. We told our rep and he picked up his phone to someone saying "Oh mate, security are back on the game again" like some sort of gossip topic, i then asked who he thought it was and he said i know who it is, but i dont like to speculate, i replied " well i do, and im accusing, as we had our key on us every minute of everyday, no sign of forced entry it was obvious the only people with a SPARE key was security, they had obviously watched us go out, seen our nice things and thought lets have a look, i must admit they are a bit stupid though, they took out our travel insurance from the REAL £600 bag and our tickets bit of a rubbish job guys.
The rep told us that there had been 3 previus break ins the year before, and that they had stamped it out, after finding hidden cameras fitted by the guards, and that usually our room 528 never gets burgaled haha but its alright that all other rooms do usually get burgaled?, the rep said he was gonna go mental but if he thinks sitting at a bar with a beer is doing something for his guests issue then ive never heard that one before.
The only best bit of this place is the pool bar named THE DEN, fantastic english staff, english food and a lovely atmosphere.
We will NEVER be returning here again, just the name makes me cringe, the streets around it are filthy and you get harrased everywhere you go, (chinese people asking to massage you, african men and women selling watches, sunglasses and hair braids, and literall kids asking if you want ten shots in a bar NO THANKYOU.
People say, that if you have time to write a review you have no life, im writing this to warn you of what to expect in this hell hole.
My official letters of complaint to the Hacinenda del sol, and the spanish police are on their way.....

We are currently locked in the apartment like prisoners at the moment. We arrived at night time and put our belongings in, we decided to go out for a few hours for a meal and drink to come back to find all our belongings had been gone through and re organised. We stupidly didnt report anything as nothing was missing that we noticed.A day later whilst we were asleep, a secruity man descibed in the comment from September an oldish guy in glasses was seen leaving our apartment by us with one of our bags full of our stuff. He had a laptop, cash, cards, new t shirt we bought and a bottle of champagne we left on the side !!When we woke up and saw him i asked him what the hell he was doing, only to get a reply to say that he found it. I then went to the desk and asked for an explaination only to get given a Madrid fake police number and no explaination other than you get some good or bad hotels. I asked for a rep and he told me to go away and be quiet or security will chuck us out !!.
We told someone who was staying and he threatened to shut us up with his fists if we carried on telling people. The man still works for the hotel and from speaking to another couple, who got robbed the cleaners and staff are all in it together.
Its a hole full of thieves and low life people. I will never go back and to scared to go to sleep without having staff rob me whilst asleep !!!
