Have just got back from a week holiday with 5 of my girlfriends (we are all 17) in these apartments. AMAZING TIME!!! After reading some nasty reviews about this place i was really worried but believe me they are so much better and i got way more than i expected. Only saw one cockroach the whole week and that wasn't even in the hotel! The room was a good size, and we got a really good balcony. Cleaners came in every day or so and fresh towels were always given. I would recommend getting a studio with bedroom cos otherwise i think it would have been too small. Beds were not the comfiest but still good and shower was average...but what do you expect. It was really good for cooking also as we were self catering. Had everything you needed...except an oven. We did not get hassled by any of the security guards and nothing got stolen...but make sure you hire a safe just to be careful. Also we basically came back at 3/4 in the morning every night and the door was always opened for you so don't need to worry about getting locked out. The pool was a good size but there were never really any sunbeds unless you reserve them but cos the beach was so close it didn't bother us. The apartments are in such a good position as well only being a 1 minute walk from all the bars and clubs and a 5 minute walk from the main beach :) Supermarkets are pretty much everywhere you go as well but some are more expensive than others. The staff were all very nice as well and the restaurant/bar there was also very friendly. I couldn't have asked for anymore. It was such a good holiday and i would definitely go back :D
Just some hints - the PRs (personal reps for every club) are very annoying but they do get you a good deal. If you go out before 12 you can get loads of drinks for only 6 euros!!! However don't always take the first deal you come across cos some are better than others. Bar wise we really enjoyed Linekers, Yates and Rags. The Mett bar has a lot of pervs we found, but there is a bar/club for pretty much anyone. Also i recommend doing the bar crawl which is on Mondays and Thursdays it was so fun and gives you a taster of pretty much all the bars :)

Myself and 6 other girls have literally just returned from our stay in the Hacienda del Sol in tenerfie....
we stayed for 8 nights, the price was good, the pool and garden area of the hotel was stunning, the rooms were basic but came with all the necessary items - bottle openers, knives, forks, spoons, plates, cups, bowls, saucepans, corrinder... and a fully working stove with extractor fan (perfect for when i burnt the pasta) a lovely balcony with prefect veiw, 2 very comfortable beds.... the showers were a tad tempermental but hey thats was nothing to worry about.
I would 100% suggest this hotel for anyone planning on partying in Las America, MINUTES from the stip but perfect distance not to hear to much, several supermarkets seconds away, and a cafe opposite that does the best fry up for €3.00!!!
i would not advise anyone planning on a quiet stay or people with children.
Brilliant pool bar fully stocked with food, ice cream, soft drinks and alcohol.
Some staff spoke english but reception spoke very good english which is alwasy a comfort.
The gates to the hotel were locked from 9pm and you have to buzz in the get into the hotel which made me feel very secure.
Over all it was brilliant, i will definalty be returning!!!
P.S DO NOT go to the resturaunt called Los Angeleas - disgusting food with staff that had equally disgusting manners - when we complained about raw / overcooked and foul tasting food we were told to shut up!!!!!

i have just come back from a holiday at this hotel. the hotel is basic, but was sufficient for what we required. the location of the hotel was fantastic, just a 5 minute walk down to veronica's strip where all the clubs and bars are.
there is a fantastic restaurant that you must try, it is called america dreams. their food is amazing, especially the pasta dishes!!
taxi's are quite cheap, but make sure you ask them how much it will be before you get in. sometimes they add extra on! troviscus and san eugiene are very near by and have great restaurants and shopping.

Arrived really worried after seeing all the reveiws. We are both in our 50's and had a great time. Hotel was shabby but clean and all staff were helpfull and attentive. Ages of holiday makers ranged from elderly to families and although there were a lot of young people having a good time, we were only disturbed once at night. We were on the top floor overlooking the pool, had no problem with security and did not hear of any break ins while we were there. We could have had fresh towels every day and room was cleaned 6 days out of 7. Although we were near the main strip, we never heard noise at night and whilst we saw a few cockroaches on the streets, we never saw one in the hotel. However, it did look as if the hotel would fill up with younger holiday makers from now on so I think the middle of June is probably the latest we would book. This was a really good value, cheap holiday and we would definately go again.

For the purpose of chilling out by the pool, going shopping, going to the sea and getting drunk it was perfect. The apartment was kept fresh and clean and all the staff where friendly.
Advice: great for groups of friends

me and my boyfriend stay at this apartment may last yr i was really scared reading all these horrible reviews but was quiet happy once seen it for my self. although after a longflight we waited for our suit cases once gettin off the plaine which never cum as thomas cook/first choice had lost them waited in airport ages for answers. we had to leave airport with no lougage and was boiling hot suitcase arrived at our apartment first thing the next morning thank god!!!!. apartment very basic but we we'r in a great location, for alround type of holiday either relax or party. friendly staff. i would recommend u don't stop on the first floor as u may hav alot of cockroaches. WORST THING ABOUT HOLIDAY WERE THE STUPID KIDS EVERYWHEE U WALKED TRYIN TO GRAB U IN THE BARS AND WEN WE REFUSED SUM GOT NASTEY. other then that we had a great time after figgering out were to go n wot not to do.hope this helps dont worry ur self as much as me as i atually made myself sick with worry of goin to this apartment as it was a suprise for my bf's birthday

the Hacienda Del Sol is a very good hotel, wouldnt advice a family to go there more for people who wanna hav a good time.
the rooms are a bit basic but still really clean an spacous.
there are some cokroaches but that is normal there not as bad as some people would say or think.
i would definetly go there again in the future.

Me and three friends stayed at the Hacienda Del Sol last aug, and we enjoyed it that much we have booked to go again this august. After a bad time at the airport the last thing we wanted was to arrive at a horrible apartment, but Hacienda was far from it. Arriving at the hotel we were shocked at how nice it was, staff were really helpful and friendly and we were given a really good room that was high up with good views and the balcony was massive. Rooms were clean, spacious and had all the essentials. We had three decentsized mirrors and several sockets which was handy with there being four of us. And we always had clean towels. The pool wasnt massive but of a decent size, and we never had trouble getting a sun lounger. There is a pool bar which serves snacks, food and drink is really reasonable there which is good with the euro being bad. All I can say is that A small deposit of about 50euros has to be paid on arrival but you get that back when you leave providing no damage has been caused to your room, we had no problems and never heard of anyone else complaining. Rooms have safes, which I would recommend you get as we heard that people have been broken into in the past in and around tenerife. We booked the twentys package with our rep which was really good value for money.
Ive heard people saying that you get a lot of cockrochs in the canaries, and all I can say is Ive been to nearly all the canarie islands and I hardly ever see any, one in tenerife!
These apartments are really good if your in a group, your young etc, I wouldnt recommend to familys with small children due to amount of young people these apartments attract, although we never experienced any amount of noise which was good as we manage to sleep when we got the chance.

I have booked as a last minute thing as I do every feb/march, I have paid £200 to stay here for a week, and by reading these reviews I'm not sure if to look forward to the holiday or not take stuff like camera phone etc with me just incase they get stole, Then some of the reviews are good I think I will be keeping the room key on me at all times other than handing it in at reception as advised,It seems alot of people that were robbed that handed the key in.
I think its a shame when stuff like this happens and people write bad reviews as this doesn't give people the peace of mind and relaxability that they should be getting on holiday, I will let you all know what happens and how I get on.
I'm not a snob that moans about cock roaches as with the weather these are expected, as they that come to England in the summer and get covered in those really annoying thunder flies, I'm 24 and just want somewhere to crash for a few hours after having a skin full so will see what happens I'm sure everything will be fine which is probably not the right attitude to go with but hey I'm going to be in the sun whilst everyone here will be in the horid snow.

after reading all the reviews befor going on holidays i wasnt shore about staying in these appartments. but when i got there i was surprised to see everything was fine. rooms were basic we had a ground floor room right infront of the pool. the bar staff were realy friendly and you could have a good laugh with them. it was full of young people which was another good thing because every body got along concidering im only 18. its right accross from starcos and only a min down the road is veronicas. all in all i had a brill time not one complaint i didn even hav one cockroach in my roam at all. hav my holiday booked for tenerife again this year and the same place again cant wait to go back again.. the one thing i would say is if your an older person this isnt really a place you would want to saty as it can get loud at nite.
Advice: loved it there have holiday for this summer booked already roll on june

After reading previous reviews on the hotel me and my friend both aged 21 were anxious about what to expect. We have visited las americas for the last few years at christmas but this was our first time in the hacienda. On arrival the reception man did not seem very friendly and after reading people were robbed we got a safe straight away wich cost roughly 20 euros. When we entered our room it was very basic with just one room with your beds a tv and a kitchen and then a seperate bathroom. The rooms were very basic but for a 2star hotel you cant really expect much else. We were on the ground floor and noticed that our room had previously been broken into as the door and been bent back but it looked as though the locks had been replaced and the garden outside was surrounded by barbed wire fencing. We did not have any problems with robberys or security guards as they were very friendly and sometimes wouldnt even let us have friends come into the hotel. The pool and bar are great and the staff were very friendly with nice food. We did have some cock roaches in our room but it wasnt a big deal and we got a bottle of the strongest coack roach spray from the supermarket across the road and it killed them off. We had an amazing time overall and had no complaints with the hotel ..for the price its exactly what you would need and in excellent location for bars, beach etc. Also make sure you visit Samari water park it was amazing. Rep was rubbish and barely saw her but hotel staff are helpful.lauren (surrey)

Just read the review before, obviously from a person who has trouble spelling, I think she may have been on a bed next to me once because(although she was english) she had a west indian accent!! Why?. Anyhow they were the ones who put their towels on their beds early and left them most of the day and popped back now and there for a good swear and talk about their sex lives- thats why they didn't have a problem getting a bed.. one day they left their towels all day and we saw them pick them up about 11 pm!. .
The staff in this apartment were brilliant, but the room was awful, there was a door between our room and next door and you could hear everything that went on and I mean everything. The drawers were broke and stained! our outlook was a barbed wire fence. We did ask to change rooms but the alternatives were not worth repacking for and moving to. It is in a prime spot for linekers etc., but (being a more mature person was not interested) this wasn't really an issue because you really dont hear any noise at all. We liked Murphys bar across the road. You dont have to stay in this part of playa de las americas, take a walk along front either way to find nicer areas.The baby faced PRs are annoying and I am still intrigued why they huddle together and look in one direction?? drug run or police?. . I would like to know. We had a good deal with first choice £209 for 1 week, flights, accommodation and transfers. I would go back only if I had a good deal like this again, otherwise give it a miss.

After reading the reviews about robberies, cockroaches, unfriendly staff etc me and my mate (2 20yr old girls) were rele worried about goin and we even went bak to the travel agents to tell them about d reviews we had read! however wen we got der d staff were rele friendly and d rooms were rele clean. The location was fantastic literally about 1 min away from starcos and veronicas!! We met sum fantastic ppl and had the most amazin holiday!!!
The room was cleaned daily which was a surprise 2 us considerin our clothes wer spread all over d floor! the pool was quite small but most ppl didnt use it so we always got a sunbed! ders also a bar/snack bar thingy wich is reasonably priced and the staff r rele friendly (they even put hollyoaks on 4 us!)
we were self catering and had a fridge, kettle, toaster and 2 hobs der wer loadsa pots n pans n plates n dat but we neva used em!!!
if ur lookin 4 sumwer basic 2 get changd at nyt n sleep of ur hangover durin d day den dis is d place to go WE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my friend arrived here in the middle of the night!i will be onest the staff where friendly giving us a map to find room which was useless, because there was no lights on the stairways,with loads of flights of stairs not very handy when ya suitcase weighs 20kg!
on arriving in the room it was drab and dull but fairly spacious,the kitchen utensils where rubbish!we was put on a ground floor apartment with the doorway being at the end of a dark corridoor!not good.
the security are dodgy!2 of em came knocking on our door asking for sex, and after reading comments they have dun it to other girls, we had to slam the door in there faces, u dnt need tht wen ur on holiday!and this led on2 more(just for saying no)
after a few days there were ppl round the pool talking about rooms being broken into but we didnt think anything of it becoz u think something like that never happens to you!
on our 4th night we cum bk from a night out and our room had been tipped upside down!drawers pulled out suitcases upside down and loads missing! but no sign of any broken entry!all in all they had stollen a music system, clothes, make up, and bags!probs to put the stuff into,there was my exspensive per of hairstraightners left on the side!we cudnt think why they wouldnt take them!!this really scared us the fact tht sum one had cum into our room and had been going through our stuff!we went to the police but they laffed and thought we was lying! the hotel staff told us tostop making a fuss! but the did move us to a higher hotel room!but we was soo scared of sleeping...the day after we found out tht someones room window had been smashed and there key ad been taken, later they got robbed
ok we payd £300 for this hotel but never in a million years wud i stay in such a dump agen i thik it is well worth it for anoter £100 to stay in a safe hotel! we warned everyone who arrived after tht, ad if we hadnt bought a safe who knos what wud of happend!
towards the last day the bar staff of the hotel had a word with the manager who told him he was gettin rid of security as he knew they was dodgy, two men and one women!

With this hotel I suppose you get what you pay for. It is pretty basic but at the same time it is clean and tidy (linen is changed nearly every day) and we found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The staff at the Den (bar area)were fantastic and we had a great laugh with Dennis and his team from day 1.
The pool is very clean and there were no problems in getting a sun bed every day - I accept this may not always be the case in the height of the summer.
Although veronicas strip is only a stones throw away for us 'old uns' it only needed a 20 minute walk to get to some very nice restaurants and shops.We heard little noise at night and the hotel appears to be secure - not that we have had any problems during our previous visits.
In summary, if you are looking for a hotel with all the creature comforts this one isn't for you but if you are looking for a basic no thrills holiday with a comfortable room/bed and prepared to accept it as this, then I think you'll have some good fun at the Hacienda.Incidentally, the weather was fantastic.
