went to these apartments with one other freind last year. we booked up as it was quite a cheap holiday and the apartments were near all the nightlife. We arrived about afternoonish so we sorted ourselves out by this time it was night time and we headed of out for a look about. the apartments are set in a perfect position for the nightlife you can walk in and out of it. in the morning we all met down at the pool for our rep meeting we then found out it was a club twenties apartment but it was all good. i think we had the best room on the site as we had no cockroaches at all in our apartment apart from a baby lizard but there was plenty of cockroaches about on a night time other people complained about them alot and were killing them everynight i also advise you to rent a fan as it got very hot and stuffy on a night time with having to keep windows ans doors locked our bed sheets never got changed all week but we did get clean towels a couple of times . the pool is very small. but the beach is 5 mins down the road. The food from the bar was very nice but there was plenty of restaraunts about. after a couple of days of partying away we decided to have a meal in the wigan pier restaruant english family run restaruant you wernt even allowed to smoke it shows how english it was we ended up staying in there all night as there was a quiz on first to start the night of then a drag queen then karaoke it seperated our week up a would recomend that place. we also took the trip to monkey park what a expeciance having them sitting on your head and on your back walking through their cages if you decide to go get there early when there all hungry. A do advise these apartments they were brill for the price and a hope if you's are going you will enjoy it as much as we did

Well..
First of all i will say i was terrified going here after i read the reviews when i heard about the cockroaches i was dreading it!! I only seen one cockroach in my room so i was happy enough with that as no matter what apts you go to your gona get them in a hot climate!
I am irish and ill just say to irish people that are going its a very english resort there was no irish people staying there at all it didnt bother me but just incase people would like to know..
I went with my boyfriend we are both in our early 20's and i would recomend this place for couples full of gangs banging and stuff till 6 in the morning walls are like paper was awake half the nights!! other that that the rooms were ok very basic but just what we needed really.. beds are like stone aswell!!
Pool is an ok size.. locaton is great for young gangs going away right in the heart of the nightlife 2 mins from the beach!
had a great holiday but wouldnt go back as a couple!! as for people going in april we got lovely weather one bad day is all we got a bit of rain but still really warm!! Dont forget your sun cream ;)

Stayed 1 week 25 march 08, very basic apartments and the beds are crap,be warned about the cockroaches, had to rescue the misses god-knows how many times as the roaches enjoyed interupting her showers.
Hotel is very noisy especially the apartment doors slamming, sounds like a bomb going off every five mins, will interupt your sleep no end. Lots of steps to get to apartments, we was at the back off the complex and had 70+ steps just to get to the street level very tiring in the heat. pool was small, bar prices fluctuated with different staff. apart from that cheap and cheerful and close to the beach and bars. good for younger people who will be to drunk to notice the roaches, hard beds and noise. staff seemed ok. recommended for under 25's.

Me and my fiance who are both in our early 20's have just come back from the hacienda del sol apartments. and before i booked i didnt read any reviews but when i had booked it thats when i read the reviews and got worried! there was lots of reviews about cockeroaches which i'm terrified of and how it wasnt very nice there well we had 1 baby cockeroach come in and thats it in a week! if your in a warm country these things will happen but not to the extent some people say, well we didnt experience it anyway. out of 9 years travelling together we had one of the best times ever! your close to everything the rooms are clean and basic and your a short walk from some really good shops!!! overall our stay was brilliant we had a great time the staff was attentive the room was always cleaned and more importantly we was close to everything playa de las americas had to offer we couldnt of wanted any more apart from the pool being heated that is. so if you have booked this hotel or are thinking about it go right ahead it's a lovely small hotel in a brilliant location.

I have just returned from a weeks holiday in the Hacienda Del Sol in Tenerife with my boyfriend.
Before we went I had read the reviews about the cockroaches and was a bit worried. We seen a few cockroaches and a few ants but nothing to be worried about.
The hotel was in a ideal location and had a lovely restaurant and pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall we had a really good holiday and would recommend the Hacienda del Sol.

We had a lovely time when we spent 7 days at the Hacienda in September. Ideal position if you want the main strip of bars and clubs, only a 2 minute walk away. Hotel bar had good food and cheap all day breakfasts.Wouldnt recommend it to families with young children as it mainly attracts young couples or single sex groups which can be a little noisy at night.a warning though ... You will be hounded by reps and promo people trying to drag you into every bar along the strip, which after the 3rd night does get a little annoying! The pool was great, with plenty of sun loungers and very clean. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towles every day. The only problem we had was the cockroaches which we often found crawling round the sink!!! apart from that the facilites were fine, kitchen was basic but sufficent. Recommend going further round the coast to Los Christianos for the beach where youl find soft white sand, not the gritty volcanic sand you get at the coast line by the hotel. All in all we had a great time, fab weather on 6 of the 7 days. And definatley pay a visit to the Wigan Pier, almost opposite the hotel to see Crystal Starr the comedian in drag, who was fantastic!!

I stayed in the Hacienda Apartments with my boyfriend in Jan. It was our first holiday without the parents. I thought these apartments where really basic but they were clean and the bar staff were really friendly. We were staying on the bottom floor which I was dreading because of the creepy crawlies, but they were only on the balcony. Just around the corner from the apts were the strip of bars and clubs. Defo eat in Snappys its a great place and they let you watch ya soaps. When going out of a night though just watch out for them lucky men really annoying. Just tell them to **** off. Well overall I would come back to Tenerife but with a gang bit boring in couple, but considering it was January it was hot but in the night would recommend to bring a cardigan.

Me and a friend stayed at the Hacienda in June and couldn't have been more surprised at how ideal it was. Hotel is situated literally a 30 second walk away from Starcos which is where all the clubs and bars are, so great to stumble back to after a night out!
Rooms were great, fab for what we paid for them. Cleaned every day and towels replaced daily etc. Only saw one cockroach in the room, a tiny baby, which we promptly flushed down the loo! TV received Sky channels - try watching The Simpson’s in Spanish when you're drunk! Reception always manned staff very friendly!
Try the little restaurant/cafe across the road for full English for 2 euros! Awesome.
Admittedly we did spend most days hungover by the pool, and most nights stumbling around Starcos, but the hotel was ideal for this. We had a peek at another resort while we were there - it looked dead nice from the outside but the rooms were grotty! And they paid twice as much!
Reps were brill, if you do any of the trips go to the Foam Party - but remember you WILL get soaked through.
Overall a fab holiday - would definitely go back to this hotel again.

I was another one that booked before I read the reviews, and I've got to admit I was dreading it. The transfer from the airport was about 40mins, with the Hacienda being the last stop but the coach was air conditioned so no worries there. We got there dropped our stuff off and straight away a cockroach we couldn't believe it a proper huge 1, so we decided to get out lol. Straight outside and a few minutes walk is the main strip which was fairly busy, the second day we headed down to the beach which was literally 5mins walk from the apartment, throughout our holiday we had 2 cockroaches in our room that was it.
The maids were in everyday except Friday so the room was always clean. The pool was a good size, the rooms could do with a bit better lighting, other than that what do you expect? If your looking for a holiday close to everything this is ideal, we couldn't hear any noise from the strip and the food from the pool bar was the nuts. We had to checkout at 11am and wasn't getting picked up until 20.15 but the Hacienda had a complementary room which you can have for 20mins to freshen up which was greatly appreciated after spending most of our last day on the beach, if it wasn't for those 2 cockroaches would have been 10/10.

My partner and myself stayed at the hotel in Jan 2008 and were very pleased we chose it.
The sheets are changed every other day and the room cleaned every day. The room we stayed in was clean and tidy with 2 single beds a TV ,shower, bath, small hot plate for cooking and a kettle and all the usual cutlery and cups, glasses, plates etc.
Contrary to other reports about cockroaches I can honestly say that I saw one the whole time we were there and I have been to tenerife many times and seen hundreds in other places we have stayed.
.
We heard very little noise at all from the bars and clubs situated right outside the front door and after 12pm it was always quiet. Sometimes you can hear people coming back to the hotel drunk and having a good time, but that's everywhere you stay. We were never woken up by noise all the time we stayed there.
There is a small swimming pool with sun loungers but they are pretty much taken by 11.30am, but just across the road there is a hotel with a bigger swimming pool, just walk in.
The staff are very friendly the receptionist guy is always helpful.
There is a bar by the pool which has a good choice of beers and food but can be found cheaper outside the hotel.
Right outside the front gate is Starco's which has Linekers, Wigand Pier, clubs and pubs etc. There is also a Taxi rank just down the road.
There are supermarkets and food outlets with everything you can think off to eat which is handy when you have the munchies and some stay open to late and there is a chemist just metres away.
The hotel is situated just a short walk from the beach and the veronicas strip full of pubs, clubs and a new shopping arcade.
If you want to shop for clothes or electical goods etc a 20 minute walk or a quick taxi ride will take you to Parque Santiago 1, 2 and 3. which has the best choice.
All in all I would recommend this hotel for anyone,When we stayed there were a mixture of people young and old and all seemed to be enjoying there stay.
My recommendations for eating close by are :-
Gomeros restaurant (very popular gets very busy)
Marajus restaurant a local eaterie with big portions.
Greggs (just up the road) for great pasta
Angus Steak House next to McDonalds on the beach front where you can eat real steak burgers for 1 euro.
For a cheap drinks there is the Sports Bar which is one euro a pint and a free short with really friendly staff, Its located next to The Princess Di Pub behind Veronicas near the beach. There is Jordys bar if you want to watch footie with a beer and still stay in the sun touching up your tan. Be sure to shop around for prices because beer ranges from 1 euro to 5 euros a pint.
Happy Hols........
