Hacienda Del Sol

Just come back from a week in the sun with my three friends. The apartments are in a fantastic location. Right across the road were 2 supermarkets and fast food outlets as well as restuarants, bars and entertainment. They are very clean and plenty of room. You expect to get insects in hot countries but we only had 2 cockroaches in our room the whole week and no ants to talk about. Not bad when you are on the ground floor. Yes it was noisy in the early hours but then you expect that. So close to everything a 3 minute walk to Veronicas but we didnt hear the noise from that. The food at the bar and the staff were great. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from it all. Mind you not for small kids as there is little other than the pool. Had a fab holiday and if you are going check out the Divine Soul club which is 5 minutes walk away - fantastic!!!

Felt i had to comment on my holiday as it was reading the reviews on this page that made me nervous about going!
I went with miss farnworth (above) for a week and we stayed in room 714. Considering we did not pay alot for this holiday atall the apartments could have got away with being worse! They were cleaned every day, even if they were in a state, and if you ask at reception the maids are happy change your bed linen more often than the 6 day allowance. Our balcony overlooked the pool and was surrounded by really pretty vegetation. The hotel is noisy... but so are all the others! If you realy want to get a good nights sleep, 1. why are you in tenerfie! and 2. take a sleeping tablet after 12 as thats when everyone goes out.
as for the cockroaches.... THEY ARE TINY!!! I was terrified about them having read that the apartments were infested,but i didnt see a single cockroach in the room. I did see some out on the street but to be honest if your staying near to the equator you have to expect it. Tenerife may have all the home comforts but it still has the climate of a tropical country.
As for things to do it is important to explore if you want to get the most out of your holiday. The main shopping area is a 4euro taxi ride away and you can pick up some great clothes and accessories. Also there is a market in Los Christianos which costs 6euros each way and is really worth it if your looking for fakes and leather handbags. I would also recoment the "Freebird" trip that takes you to see wild whales and dolphins.
Our rep for the week was lovely, my drink was spiked on the first night and she was really helpfull and supportive. If your in a group of girls, look after each other and dont get carried away. The barmen dont measure local spirits so you get drunker alot quicker than you would at home, if your in a big club i would suggest drinking bottles and they are harder to spike and you also know how much alcohol is in them. It is also easier to get seperated and lost in a big club, thats the only reason its better to not get so drunk there. For a great night out Linekers is a laugh also China's white does good deals. Have to recommend Bobbys foam party, just dont wear anything nice, it will get ruined! It is really hard to find nice places to eat though, Wigans pier is a rip off, Snappys (opposite) is good, but also anthonys sports bar by the beach serves good pizza.
Hacienda del sol was a perfect base for the week, all the staff are really lovely and helpfull when it comes to booking taxis etc. Dont worry about bugs!!! My final peice of advice is to chat to everyone at the apartments, the best way to have a good time is to make friends. The pool has a really good atmosphere and by the end of the week you'll all be going out together.

Me and my partner went on holiday to the hotel in May it was absolutely horrible no way would we ever consider staying in those appartments again! It cost an average price holiday and was an absolute rip off! Me and my partner are both young 19 and 21 and love to go out!but we would definately not have gone out there at night!!!!!! Unless there is a group of you do not bother staying in these appartments! From reading other peoples reviews i think it must depend on the room that you get, because ours was hidious it was very very basic and there was cockroaches everywhere!!!(even by my head at night) we didnt eat in our room and they where still everywhere, i think people proberly didnt see them because they wernt in at night! but if you are be aware! There was blood on our sheet, the sockets where handing off the wall there was a big hole in the wall by the balcony and cracked tiles big time! we have photo evidence of all of these because we will be complaining to first choice! The fact that your sheets get changed every 6 days is discusting! you dont get them changed once if you are there all week! and the towels get changed every 3 days! The maid has one day off a week which is fare enough but the reception could let you know of this day off! because you dont stand a chance of geting clean towels as we asked reception and they where EXTREMELY rude! The pool area stunk of cats mess or something! Where do i start on the rep absolutely awful! First choice should be ashamed of the fact that she is representing them she loved the men 100% and we would hear her discussing where she was going to meet them at night! we booked a trip which she was very pleased about and gave us rubbish instruction on where we had to go to get the bus! we saw her every day and she never asked us if everything was ok! She loved to have a cigerette by the pool getting over her hangovers! She never informed us of any going home information! that me and my partner could pre book seats or anything! When we got to the airport she was there and ashe asked us if a group of lads got on the coach and that was all she was worried about! Well all i can say is dont stay in these appartments the bar staff altho where friendly, If i represented first choice i would be ashamed that the rep was working for the company! and that i let my guest stay in those apparentments! The flights where average altho they had sold out of nearly everything on the way back!altho appart from that they where ok! Also girls be careful the men out there cant take there eyes off you!

Just got back from a week at Hacienda Del Sol with my best mate, and I can honestly say it was AMAZING.
Like lots of people we were really, really put off by the reviews but DONT LISTEN. The apartments are great; clean and large. Maids come every day, towels changed when you want, bed linen once a week or more if you ask nicely at reception!
As far as cockroaches are concerned there was one in our room, it was about an inch long (so not exactly big) - i wouldnt call it an infestation!! Mozzies werent much of a problem either, any bites we got were because we left our window open at night!
The only thing i would agree with is that it is loud at night. Best time to go to bed (if you arent out on the town) is about 12ish when most people are heading out. If youre a light sleeper i'd suggest taking some Nytol or something (saved my life this week!). Wouldnt suggest this place for families but is absoloutely perfect if youre looking to party, and it IS possible to have a chilled out week here. To be honest, the whole of Las Americas is loud, it isnt just this hotel with a night-time noise problem!
The atmosphere round the pool during the day is great - but getting a bit sick of Closer by Neyo lol think it was played about 8 times a day! People reserve their sunbeds them night before by leaving their towels on the (bl*ody cheeky!) - just move the towels haha. Excellent pool bar, good cheap food and drinks. Just be careful of the house vodka, theres no such thing as measurements in Tenerife!!
The only warning id give is this: my friend had her drink spiked at Tramps on our first night - just be really careful with your drinks when youre out ('specially if youre in a girls-only group) - try and drink from bottles (we think it was the barman who spiked it) and dont put your drink down. I wouldnt say the experience ruined our holiday cos it didnt, but we didnt really go out after that. Dont let this put you off, just be careful when youre out :)
Drink spiking aside, we had an AMAZING week - met some wicked new people. DONT LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS!!!!!

was a wicked holiday al tho the security staff was rude and we had two cockroaches in our room it was great would recommend it to everyone under 25 coz in the middle of the night everyone comes back making so much noise so if you want a holiday where all you do is sleep at night then dont stay here,the pool was nice especially when you hot and sweatin the bar staff were wel friendly also there were always sunbeds to lay on, the bars were a laugh the clubs were amazin you have to definetly check out the foam parties at bobbys, have to go back soon, the prs got a bit annoyin, was only there for a week so didnt get chance to check out the beach altho it werent that far away

My partner and I have just returned from 10 days at the Hacienda apartments and were generally happy with it. We knew from reading the other reviews that it was a hotel for younger people and groups but we think we are still quite young (i'm 23 and my partner is 37). The room was very basic, but cupboard doors falling off, loose tap fittings and very very creaky uncomfortable beds!! but you get what you pay for. we didnt spend that much time in the room so it didnt bother us. I was dreading seeing any cockroaches in our room after reading other reviews but we were very lucky and had none. Just watch out for the mosquitos cos my boyfriend got bitten to hell!!! they left me alone thank god!! If you want a day at the pool, you will need to be there by 11am at the latest as a lot of people do reserve a sunbed early on then come and go as they please. Plenty of places to eat and drink around but we did get really fed up of the numerous gangs of P.Rs and looky looky men that pestered us. next time we go we will probably stay in a different hotel out of the hustle and bustle a bit like the sol tenerife hotel. Dont get me wrong we had a great holiday but couldnt go out clubbing every nite and wanted a nites sleep, this is impossible at these apartments because there is either groups of people still around the pool late at night shouting and balling till the early hours or the people who go clubbing are very noisy wen they come home at 5am. The night before we were due to come home, we decided to go home early and have an early night as we had to check out at 11 and hang around all day until our flight at 8.25pm. we went to bed at about midnight but did not get to sleep until 5.30am because a group of Scottish men in their 40s who had been staying at the hotel came home and started fighting amongst themselves in the room above. Glass was smashed furniture broken and the bloke on reception came and gave them a warning which they ignored. These blokes had been noticed all week by everyone as the group of people who were paraletic by the pool bar by 4pm each day and very argumentative. The same night, there were a group of girls a few doors down from us who were obviously not even 18 years old and they decided to be fun to go around in the early hours ringing everyones doorbells and running away, Im not an old fuddy duddy and i enjoy a drink and a laugh like anyone else but i found them very immature.
Overall, i would recommend this hotel to groups of friends, and the younger age groups. The area is great for nightlife and food so we will go back but we will go to a different hotel situated out of the annoying PRs hunting ground!!!

So.... what kind of a person are you? IF you are a happy, young person, looking to enjoy a good holiday, lots of things to do in the day, good nightlife, somewhere semi decent to kip when you get home... you will HATE this place. You would think you could pick and choose what you want to do, people might want to sell you things, you politely decline... oh no not tenerife. firstly the hotel... we did not pay much for this holiday, we just wanted somewhere clean, relatively quiet... Hacienda de sol..... apartment was a great size, massive balcony, bottom floor right on the pool... like all the apartments face the pool. bar the odd cockroach the place was not bad at all for a two star... untill 2am...3am...5am...SEVEN AM people, endless people screaming, running swearing, jumping in the pool, absolutely drunk out of their minds. We are not prudes, we do like to get drunk, but there where kids, families staying in this place, and whenever anyone was causing a bit of a rucous security would gently smile and give them a ahh come on now stop being silly look, which obviously these people will listen too.....???!!! right so aside from the hotel, lets talk about the places to eat... or drink... i must say some places, the people were so lovely and polite, however, more often than not... we experienced rudeness... absolute rudeness. My friend ordered a burger that looked pink, she didn't want to get ill, asked the waiter about it who shrugged and said 'sorry' and walked off. i then asked him myself and he said 'you want another one? you can have another one but it will come back exactly the same' which was GREAT. Also beware of them offering you drinks without telling you how much. my friend (alas this was rather hilarious for us) paid 7.75 euro for a huge boot of lemonade. she asked for a large thinking it would be a pint... the boot was at her nose level on the table, 1.5 litres of lemonade. works out at about 6 quid for a lemonade.... a small tip.. dont follow any directions that any locals give you... ever another tip... your rep does not care about you, at all, your rep was out getting p*ssed untill about 7am, has had no sleep and only cares about the people she can make money out of...your rep assumes if you are young and not in a couple that you want to get smashed out of your face every night having sex with lots of random people and jumping in the pool... your rep does not think you will be interested in day trips....your rep won't care if you die, just that you can pay for it another tip... shop around for good deals on day trips, the smaller local operators get discounts and FINALLY... the main grievance of our holiday, Touts. TOUTS TOOOOOUTS. The moment you leave your hotel, the absolute moment you step outside *alright ladies where you off to this evening, you going for a few drinks?* and no it does not stop there. They follow you, asking you questions constantly. Ignore them? they give you abuse or just keep following you telling you not to ignore them. Tell them you don't drink? they tell you that of course you do, and then relent, giving you abuse. They come across all happy when you give them the time of day, then get really really annoyed when they don't make a sale. SO... Know that you are a walking pound sign to them, know that the deals they talk about exist everywhere, and that it really doesn't matter where you go. Know that if you do not want to be followed, shouted at and harassed...DON'T GO TO TENERIFE!!!!!! (small recommendation of downunder bar..great music, extremely beautiful barmen)

Me and my partner have just returned from our week holiday at hacienda Del Sol. Like everyone we read the reviews and was put off by the mention of cockroaches, we had an odd few in our room but the big scary ones stayed outside, but you are bound to get them in that heat. The hotel was nice, basic and clean, and would recommend the food at the bar which was nice not two expensive and the bar staff was nice and fiendly. My only problem really was the noise, although i am only in my early twenties i was not out until 3am every night but you could garantee by 4am you was awake by the noise of people coming back to the room shouting corridoors, slamming doors and getting in and out of the pool. walls vey thin. Apart from that everything else was lovely and we had a great hol, recommend Lineakers bar, great fun!!!!

just returned from these apartments and was quite put off before i went by other reviews. the apartments are basic but clean, maids come in 6 days and sheets changed.
our apartment was broken into on our 2nd night and we were cleaned out, so i suggest to all staying there that you put all your valuables in the safe, at all times. its quite quiet throughout the day as everyone in bed, but once midnight comes the apartments come to life with all rooms playing loud music on there balconies and gangs of lads pushing each other in the pool and alot of door banging. if i was in my early 20s i would love it here but as im 15 yrs too late i think next time i will choose more wisely and include a hotel with some entertainment for my children.

Me and my best mate travelled to the hacienda on the 9th may 2008 for 2weeks and all i can say that it was are Best holiday!!! When booking the holiday i read the reviews and was dreading the apartmentsn but when i got there i dont understand what all the fuss was about as it was great for what we paid and i would go back again!!! We met a big family of 27 who were great and who we will be staying in touch with!!! linkers is across the road wich we had a good laugh in!! you also have metts bar, yates, branigains, tramps all in one bit and further down the is vorincas strip!!1 if your young livley or feel young and livley this is great for you!!! the bar staff at the hotel (the den) dens bar are lovley exspecially bryan and den!!!!! missing everyone so much!!! we also met a big stag do from liverpool which were great who we will stay in cotact with!!! this holiday was the best and would recomend it!!!!!!!!
