Hacienda Del Sol

After reading the reviews about robberies, cockroaches, unfriendly staff etc me and my mate (2 20yr old girls) were rele worried about goin and we even went bak to the travel agents to tell them about d reviews we had read! however wen we got der d staff were rele friendly and d rooms were rele clean. The location was fantastic literally about 1 min away from starcos and veronicas!! We met sum fantastic ppl and had the most amazin holiday!!!
The room was cleaned daily which was a surprise 2 us considerin our clothes wer spread all over d floor! the pool was quite small but most ppl didnt use it so we always got a sunbed! ders also a bar/snack bar thingy wich is reasonably priced and the staff r rele friendly (they even put hollyoaks on 4 us!)
we were self catering and had a fridge, kettle, toaster and 2 hobs der wer loadsa pots n pans n plates n dat but we neva used em!!!
if ur lookin 4 sumwer basic 2 get changd at nyt n sleep of ur hangover durin d day den dis is d place to go WE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my friend arrived here in the middle of the night!i will be onest the staff where friendly giving us a map to find room which was useless, because there was no lights on the stairways,with loads of flights of stairs not very handy when ya suitcase weighs 20kg! on arriving in the room it was drab and dull but fairly spacious,the kitchen utensils where rubbish!we was put on a ground floor apartment with the doorway being at the end of a dark corridoor!not good. the security are dodgy!2 of em came knocking on our door asking for sex, and after reading comments they have dun it to other girls, we had to slam the door in there faces, u dnt need tht wen ur on holiday!and this led on2 more(just for saying no) after a few days there were ppl round the pool talking about rooms being broken into but we didnt think anything of it becoz u think something like that never happens to you! on our 4th night we cum bk from a night out and our room had been tipped upside down!drawers pulled out suitcases upside down and loads missing! but no sign of any broken entry!all in all they had stollen a music system, clothes, make up, and bags!probs to put the stuff into,there was my exspensive per of hairstraightners left on the side!we cudnt think why they wouldnt take them!!this really scared us the fact tht sum one had cum into our room and had been going through our stuff!we went to the police but they laffed and thought we was lying! the hotel staff told us tostop making a fuss! but the did move us to a higher hotel room!but we was soo scared of sleeping...the day after we found out tht someones room window had been smashed and there key ad been taken, later they got robbed ok we payd £300 for this hotel but never in a million years wud i stay in such a dump agen i thik it is well worth it for anoter £100 to stay in a safe hotel! we warned everyone who arrived after tht, ad if we hadnt bought a safe who knos what wud of happend! towards the last day the bar staff of the hotel had a word with the manager who told him he was gettin rid of security as he knew they was dodgy, two men and one women! disgrace.... chose to listen or go for the cheapness you think it wont happen to you but it will so be warned!!!!! it wasnt all bad! so im not stuck up lol just telling of my experience!it was a great location for the bars n clubs which are great! dnt go to this hotel with a family it was full of rowdy yougsters! was good for us but very noisey! i kno there are loads of good comments, but there are a lot of bad ones tooo sooo just be careful!!! the bar staff by the pool where nice and he gave us a lift to the airport! i bet tht 3/4 of the ppl who went wen we did dnt go bk! i dnt blame them!! DO NOT GO 2 THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to put a comment on here because some reviews frightened me a bit before we went, but I was very pleasantly surprised. True, I probably would not want to go here in the summer, but that is as much to do with the surrounding area as the complex - we are a middle aged couple!
We found the room to be kept very clean, with maid service 6 days out of 7. No, the sheets were not changed every few days, but to be honest I would leave mine on for a week at home -I'm not that dirty! Some of the decor is a bit dated, but this was a cheap holiday, and for the money it was very good. The equipment in the kitchen was above average, the room spacious and the bathroom clean and roomy.
The reception staff were always polite and we found them to be extremely helpful. On arrival, they gave us a map to find our room, but we struggled in the dark. However, the security guard noticed and came and put us oon the right path quite promptly. Our flights were changed, and the pick-up time had not been posted and it was no trouble for them to phone the resort office to find out the times. The large safe was a very reasonable price to hire and so we had no worries about security. We have nothing but praise for the money paid.
I would not travel here in the height of summer because it is positioned in a very busy spot near some of the large and very popular bars, but then I would not visit Tenerife at all then. Also I do not think the pool area would be big enough in peak season, but the beach area is very well equiped. It however is no problem at this time where the majority of holiday makers appear to be families or older couples, many from the Scandinavian countries. K&I

booked in for march next year first time ive stayed in that area usually the torviscas end theres a few mixed reviews there but i would try anything once bit put of with the getting burgled bit but i suppose thats life it can happen too anyone been too tenerife 9 times and its not happened yet as for the noisy nightlife am a part time dj so i will be use too it when i get back i will post what it was like as i have read all reviews and taken them into consideration thanks all

Me and two girlfriends (all 22 years old) have just come back from the hacienda and we had the best holiday ever! the hotel is basic but the staff are all lovely and the rooms are clean. we only saw 1 cockroach the whole time we were there and that was a funny experience in itself! there are a lot of stairs to pull your suitcases up but that also was a funny experience! the pool area is small but we spent most of the time on the beach which is only a few minutes walk down the hill. the hotel location is perfect if you are there for the nightlife, with everything u need on your doorstep. also go to loro parque- amazing!
it is a hotel for younger people so there is a bit of noise at night but hardly any at all. so if you're young and looking for a cheap hotel in the centre of the action go to the hacienda del sol!

My friend and I stayed at these apartments for a week in september 08, after reading the comments we was very unsure off what we was to expect..
I must say, it was nothing ref what we had read..
We did hear the younger girls come in in the early hours, but thats wasnt everynight.
It was clean, maids came in everyday, staff very polite and helpful, ideal place great location....close to everything.
Sunbathing on the beach was annoying at times wth the amount of chinese ladys wanting to massage you, we had 5 ask us in the space of 10mins....
I must say i would return to these apartments again.

A very good 'value for money' holiday. OK so the Hacienda Del Sol is not 5 star but certainly a very good 3 star accommodation. I was a little concerned when booking at the apartments proximity to the night life around Linekers Bar, Murphy's, Yates's etc but my fears were unfounded, we could not hear them at all.
First thing to mention are the Hacienda staff, mostly Spanish but all spoke perfect English and all were very efficient and friendly.
The apartments were impeccably clean, comfortable and for once there was no premium to pay for a tv service which meant that we could keep in touch with events courtesy of Sky News.
I have read reviews about these apartments, one of which termed them as 'cockroach city' but it would not be a lie to say that we did not see one. People who harp on about cockroaches in Tenerife sicken me as they are a way of life on the island and can be found in 5 star accommodation, by no means are they a reflection of cleanliness of any particular apartments or hotel. The only thing that we saw in our apartment was a rather young gecko!
My only minor gripe is that the pool area is rather small for the number of apartments and sometimes it was impossible to get a sunbed. However the pool bar / restaurant was very good value and the quality was great.
If looking for good quality accommodation that is not going to cost you a fortune than I would highly recommend the Hacienda Del Sol. Being a seasoned traveller to Tenerife and having stayed in many different apartments I can say that these compare very favourably to those in the same star rating and budget

We have just stayed at this hotel for 14 days and if we could have moved to another hotel we would have been very happy to do so, the hotel is very basic, very clean and the staff were very polite and accommadating, BUT, if you want alot of sleepless nights then this is the place to be, we were not told by the travel agents that this hotel is mainly for 18's+ and not for people in their 40's or elderly and families with young children which were there while we were, the noise level were very bad espscially from around 3am onwards with people reurning from the clubs singing and shouting, doors being banged, door bells constantly being rung and much much more, this was waking nearly everyone in the hotel, so, if you are wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday then this hotel is not the place to be as you will be woken every night.

I can't believe everyones moaning on here?? I went there last year with my mate we were only 18 and it was the best holiday ever!! Yes there were cockroaches but my god you get over them, what do you expect in a hot country? I do think it does depend on what room you are given because ours was fine! And luckily we didnt get robbed which is shocking to hear. Im thinking they must have new security guards on the apartments now to what they had last year! We really enjoyed our holiday and was thinking of going back for a quick week at the end of the month...maybe we might stay in different apartments but last year they were fine!!!
Any one going soon....check out METT BAR...facing edwards down the little bit near Yates's and Linekars...The best bar by far and the barmen..yummy!! Tramps is also great to go after as its open till 6!! AND you must have some laughing gas...its funny...literally!
