The previous reports give a pretty accurate picture of the resort apart from understating how professonal, friendly, helpful and polite the site reps were. The comment about the resort bar prices being a little high was an understatement! Local beer €4.70! which dropped... more

My holiday at Sea Club was very nice and i enjoyed it alot. The appartments was very nice and the swimming pool was amazing. But the only let down i thought was the drinks at the hotel bar was a bit expensive. But over all my holiday was very good. Menorca has some very nice views to look at. I am thinking about coming back soon.

Great Complex but cleaning not up to much
Just got back and on the whole had a great holiday. Don't know where they get the 4 star from though. The complex in itself was great. Reps fantastic, my daughter (7) loved the kids disco every night dragging me up to do the 'Crows Feet Jive'. Bar staff were very helpful and friendly and reception was great, we reported a problem with our shower the morning after we arrived and it was fixed within the hour. Pool area very clean but the pool was absolutely freezing. It was the apartment itself we weren't very happy with. There was 6 of us in a 2 bed apartment and we knew from the off that myself and my husband would have to sleep on the sofabeds but I don't know which apartment the person in the review before this was in but we only saw the cleaners twice in the week we were there. My Mum even got the brush out and swept the floor herself and we had to use carrier bags for the bin and empty it ourselves then leave it outside for the cleaner. There was only 4 chairs supplied with the dinning room table and also only 4 chairs supplied with the table outside. I think they expected the kids to sit on the floor. The kitchen was rubbish there was no work surfaces just an extended sink unit. Even though there was a kettle it did not turn itself off, not very safe with 2 small kids in the room. On the whole a great complex but rubbish apartments making it worse because we were charged a surcharge for under ocupancy because there were 4 adults and 2 kids not 6 adults. I would defintely go back to Cala n Forcat but not to the Sea Club.
Awful location!
My family & I booked a last minute holiday to The Sea Club during May halfterm & whilst I cannot fault the apartments for it's cleanliness I have to say that I didn't like it one little bit. These apartments are built at the side of a cliff with an apprx 100 foot drop. As a result it is terribly terribly windy & we found it almost impossible to sit by the poolside. I'm sure that during hot periods this may be quite a welcoming breeze but when the weather is cooler it is a nightmare! I spent quite a bit of time in my jeans & fleece. The food in the restaurant was also of a very poor standard. I'm afraid to say that I wouldn't stay a these apartments again if I were given a free stay!
Spring school hols - Great place for kids..
Booked this specifically for the kids entertainment, we have a 7 year old and a 3 year old. The kids reps were fantastic and my two adored them. Activties here are 'First Class' and i can imagine are very popular during the summer. It gives the parents a break and a little time to relax and the children benefit from meeting other kids their own age. The accomodation was basic, but very clean and had all amenities for cooking and storing food. We were there a week and had our rooms emptied of rubbish and beds made every day. Don't like the idea of having one bedroom and the kids sleep in the living area, so the kids had the beds and we slept in on the sofabeds - recommend having a two room apt if you can get one! This was a good time to come as the complex wasn't overcrowded and people were not hogging the sunbeds - there was always a space for us all at 11am every day. However, the weather wasn't too good for this week and we even witnessed a storm, it cam and went in 2 hours and we were sunbathing in the afternoon! The swimming areas were tidy and the pools cleared every day. There is a shop which has everything you need, but it is cheaper to go 5 minutes down to the strip where the supermarkets are a bit cheaper. The Pizzeria and snack bar are expensive, but the food is okay if you want chips/burgers/pizza/steak etc. If you want a paella you need to order the day before! But all in all the food is okay should you not want to venture out. Further away from the site there are bars and shops 'The Strip'. The bars are very english orientated and they all do a full english breakfast (recommend los delfines). Most of them have a childrens bit where the adults can eat while the children play. It all seems very safe, but can get too crowded for the little ones. We prefered to go off the strip and go to the 'more spanish feel' places as recommended by a previous review on here. Giovanni - had a lovely chicken paella, there was a big south american party of people there and my children made friends with some kids who couldn't speak english - was good fun! C'an Moll - had nice fish here, but the lobster was €65.00 so i didn't bother with that! On the strip we went to Cuore - this was nice and wasn't too expensive - the kids enjoyed the Spaghetti here. It was near the Aqua Park (which we didn't go to unfortunately). All in all it was a nice relaxing holiday. The bad points were: it was windy (take a fleece or light jacket for the evenings (maybe not in the summer though!) but we only had 3 days full sunshine. A bit of a walk into town 5-10 minutes but you can hire a buggie for the little ones. There are no swings and slide park, although there is a sand pit with a toddler climbing tower. If you want more culture, don't come here unless you want to use it as a base to travel. It's not an ideal holiday resort for the teenagers. THIS IS A GREAT HOLIDAY FOR CHILDREN UNDER 8 My husband is, unfortunately a smoker. If you want cigarettes buy them at the airport before you get to Menorca. The only places to have cigarettes are some bars. There is a tobacconist (Tabacs), but it only opens during the peak season. Supermarkets and this complex DO NOT sell cigarettes.
Nice week at the Menorca Sea Club
My husband and me booked a week at these apartments just a few weeks before based on the fact that we got a great deal (513 euros in total!) and I had already had a quick look in the brochure and Trip Advisor and it looked great. The apartments are as described, clean, well kitted out (although no kettle), helpful staff etc. It was a nice size for 2 of us, plenty of storage and comfortable. We were in block A near the stage and the wet park area and I was initially a bit worried about noise, but we really enjoyed coming back from a meal out to sit out on our balcony and watch the entertainment which usually went over around 11ish. We had a lovely view of the sea - I think the way the complex is laid out that most people would get this view. This really is a great place for families although we enjoyed it as a couple. The reps really put a lot of effort into organising football, bingo, quiz rounds, etc without pressurising anyone and did a lot for the kids. There is some entertainment in the square in town in the evenings and we enjoyed the entertainment at the apartments as well. The only drawback for us when we were there was that it really was quite windy and at times too cold to sit around. So much so that out of the 6 days we were there, we only got 2 full days lying by the pool. The weather was good enough that we got a few hours by the pool most days, but we tended to walk to the town or sat at our balcony as the sun hit there around 3pm. It wasn't just us who felt the cold as the pool area would basically be completely empty. One of the days it was extremely bad and the sun loungers ended up in the swimming pools! I think the fact that this is located on the coast made it worse. When we chatted to other people on the plane going home, they said they had spoken to people who had stayed in different apartments, further in, and found it wasn't so breezy there. It was maybe just the week we were there but I notice some other comments on previous reviews about it being windy. The beaches are very very small and the one signposted on your way into town seemed to be the nicest and was a bit more sheltered than the pool. The pools at the complex were lovely - good sizes and clean. I really enjoyed swimming in them around 5pm when for some reason they felt a bit warmer than during the day. The town itself is nice, not large, and it is about 10 mins walk although it was very quiet and felt quite safe. There are a number of supermarkets, we tended to go to the Bettabuy one but I don't think there were huge price differences. We took advice from a previous reviewer and found restaurants outside the 'strip'. Well worth it. You can eat as cheaply or as expensively as you want. We tended to spend between 30-40 euros on 2 main meals, one bottle of wine, and either 2 starters or one dessert (and this would have included a tip). Some of the prices don't include VAT but it doesn't add much more onto the price. We didn't get to all the ones recommended but here's our review and directions. ASADOR GUREA - it was closed and up for sale MAXI'S BAR - Great spot. Can particularly recommend the almond cake and sweet wine for dessert. We ate their once in the evening and at lunch time. As it is right at the coast you might need a jacket. To get to this, head towards the statue (the strip has an arch at one end and a statue at the other which people refer to as the John Travolta statue) and veer off to the right and walk for about 3-5 minutes. It's on the rh side. GIOVANNIS - They now have a 6.50 euros menu, which we didn't try but we ate here twice and thoroughly enjoyed this. Nice service. Head towards the arch and when you walk through it go left and walk for 1-2 mins and it's on the rh side. C'AN MOLL - Definitely my favourite. We ate here three times. Lovely house wine (8.50 euros per bottle), beautiful pizzas, I also had lovely fish here. There is a set menu of around 18 euros which was very nice. The guy who served us was really nice, we got a complementary jug of sangria when we went the second and third time, and instead of just a shot of peach snapps after the meal, he actually brings out a bottle. Head towards the arch and when you walk through it go right and walk for 3-5 mins. It looks like there are just houses but you will come to it on rh side. We enjoyed our week. I wouldn't want to spend more than a week in Menorca but I would go back, although maybe to a different resort to see a bit more of the island.
Great holiday
Just back from 2 weeks at the Seaclub apartments, kids loved it (aged 6, 9 and 12). Some days they were in the kids club up to 5 hours (2 in morning, 2 in afternoon and an hour at night) all at no extra cost! My husband and I felt it was the best relaxing holiday we've had, never once did I hear any of them say they were bored, my eldest is nearly 13 and he wanted to join in the fun at kids club too. My youngest enjoyed the mini disco at night and loved the cartoon heroes dance! The reps couldn't have been better they were very friendly and kept you well entertained! Apartments were fine, clean and tidy we were right across from kids club and park which was away from pools and stage which we liked. The one thing we thought was great is the shallow kids pool, the water came up just to the top of my 6 year olds leg so was perfect for the little ones with their floats. Weather for October we thought was very good only couple of overcast days and one day of rain, little windy but nice and warm. Quite a bit cooler at night as the entertainment is outside but kids were still running about with t-shirts etc. We thought food served at complex was nice and good value for money. Would def visit again.
excellent holiday
we booked this last minute myself and friend, daughter 19 and son 14. and what a brilliant time we had, the hotel was spotless the staff were brilliant and really helpful spoke good english, they were able to tell us were to vist as we hired a car through the hotel. the weather was great, we realy did enjoy this much needed holiday. maids always cleaned the rooms and we always had clean towels and bedding. thought they could improve the menu in the restuarant. First choice reps were fantastic lots of fun and nigt entertainment, would be good if they done stuff for teenagers as well. thanks for a great holiday love Ryan family
Good for adults too
Two forty somethings spent a week at the Sea Club in mid-September for a lazy sun break. Thoroughly enjoyed it, though the weather was a bit windy. Complex nice and no sunbed mania. Fridge did not defrost when we removed the plastic thingy. The Vidamar Supermarket (the first one you come to on the road out) was the cheapest for most things - 1litre of Jamiesons 11.90!! And it has fresh croissants at 8am, unlike the onsite Supermarket which had no bakery.Eating out is horses for courses. Lots of cheap places all selling more or less the same. We particularly enjoyed El Abuelo (The Grandfather) and of course Las Brasas - more Minorcan and offering a wider if slightly more expensive menu. The Irish pub (61) was too loud for us old fuddy duddies. Just because its Irish doesn't mean you have to blare out Rory Gallagher 24 hours a day. And Jimmy Hills showed the Derry vs Shels game, whereas the Irish pub showed Oxford vs Crawley Town! Irony or what?
Fantastic relaxing break
My partner and i spent a fantastic 2 weeks at the Sea Club Apartments with our 20 month old daughter who absoutely loved it. Having everything within close proximity made it such a relaxing break. The apartments were superb and cleaned every 3 days. Within the complex there is 3 great pools. Every morning i went for a quick dip at 8am and had the pool to myself - heaven! The childrens entertainers couldn't be any more outgoing and helpful if they tried. Karen that works in the Tweety Pie creche has the patients of a saint. The town is only a 15 minute slow stroll away and has plenty of restaurants/bars with childrens play areas attached. I'd definitely recommend this holiday if you have small children and are looking for a lazy / relaxing type of holiday. We'll definitely be going back.
lovely views
Great place for children, apart from the cliffs near by wihich had no fencing round for the little lemmings, but still there was a road and rocks in between, and we never took our eyes off them for that long! kids club was great and the reps very friendly as were the staff, who spoke very good english. entertainment was avergae but again great for the kids. The pizzaria was very nice but bar snacks were a bit dodgy! about a 10 minute walk to the centre(which seemed shorter coming home after a few) The sqaure had good entertaimnent most nights apart from thursday and saturday. Would reccommend Haiti and Yuca for places to eat, very nice!
Best Family Holiday
I booked our hoilday as a result of all the positive reviews and was not disappointed. Last week in Aug first week Sept was just the perfect time to go. Athough in the "busiest" resort it's set just enough away. Fantastic sunsets and views from the balcony. Kids entertainment/clubs was top class, the entertainers really looked as though they were enjoying themselves. Top marks to Rocking Ryan who went out of his way to make sure my son who has a food allergy could go to the chocolate party. What i liked was the guests were friendly too, we didn't encounter any kids that you'd want yours to stay away from. They all shared inflatables and water guns, older kids were even happy to play with my 3 year old. There was no getting up at 7am to reserve sunbeds. To be honest it's the most relaxing holiday I've ever had, don't think I got stressed once. The only thing that let it down was no oven, although we knew this when we booked. It's a bit difficult to self cater for allergies without one. We will definately be going back.
