The accommodation was a bit tired but always kept clean. Rooms were on the small side but with plenty of wardrobe space to keep them tidy. The towels were a bit of a joke!
The hand towels were like tea towels and the bath towels were thin and hard. I had seen an earlier report and went prepared with our own towels.
Standard continental breakfast was provided downstairs with loads of tea/coffee available.
The evening meal was taken over the road at the Hotel Rododendro. There was a single sitting at 19-30 which meant that the dinning room was a bit crowded.
The salad bar was usually well stocked, even though some of the ingredients (cold brussels) were not to my tastes. The starter and main course was chosen the previous night, from three options.
On two occasions when all the main courses were 'meat' based we were able to pick a vegetarian type starter to have as a main course. The meals were all good and we did not feel the need to visit a local restaurant as an option.
The staff only spoke a small amount of English (you might expect this in a small village in Italy) but were pleasant and helpful and we always ended up with what we were after.
The ski bus stops outside the door and was never a problem getting on as its one of the early pick-ups. It is a three minute ride to the Col-Rodella cable car for access to the 'Sella Ronde'.
In the days after Christmas this cable car was very busy with the local Italians so we stayed on the bus which went into Canazei, another ten minutes away, where the 'bubble' gondola seemed to move the queues at lot quicker.
Another alternative was to stay on the bus another five minutes and go to Alba which gave access to the slopes on the opposite side of the valley. It usually seemed less crowded here and you can ski all the way down to Pozza.
Natural snow was in short supply but with use of the snow cannons and using the Piste- bashers to move snow from the non-piste parts of the slopes, virtually all the runs were open.
We skied the 'Sella Ronde' anti-clockwise and with only one incorrect lift choice approaching Arraba were fine till we got lost in Selva. We ended up at the bottom of the nursery slope which meant a five minute walk to find the next lift.
This had a plus side as we need some lunch and came across a restaurant in the ice rink that was excellent.
Would definitely use this hotel/ resort again.

Stayed in Garni Festil in January 2007. Four adults and two kids aged 11 & 12.
Booked it last minute so had a good deal on it. Possibly wouldn't have rated it so highly if I'd paid brochure price.
Food was good. Continental buffet breakfast downstairs, normal cereals, cold meats etc. Coffee and tea good.
Evening meal was taken in sister hotel directly across the road. We all thought the food was good in the evening, although some have mentioned that it wasn't what they expected!
What do they expect in Italy? 4 Courses served every night, loads of it. Free decanter of red wine, and bottles of water.
The Garni Festil is only a 2* and it shows in the rooms. But the Rodedendra where you eat evening meal is 3*.
Compact is probably the best description. Rooms kept very clean. Beds comfy, missed a bath, but the shower was fine.
Ski bus stops right outside. Probably a good 7-8 mins walk to the nearest lifts.
Would have been disappointed if I was there on a summer holiday, but no problem on a ski holiday.
Would I go back to the same resort? YES
Would I go back to the same hotel? YES.
What more can I say. Skiing on the Sella Ronda is awesome.
