Not bad... but not good either. Stayed here for a week in late July 2011 - a late availability holiday – but still not cheap. Was a little worried by the poor reviews, but later reviews seemed more promising. The positive first. The hotel is in a great position – easy... more

We stayed at this hotel in 2009 and also this year. The only problems we had were that we didn't get fresh towels and the maid didn't clean the room every day. We had no problems with anything getting stolen. Although, we read the reviews before we went and were quite... more

Holiday was fab, hotel was ok!
We stayed at this hotel in June 2007, there was young 2 couples in our party. We booked with greatlatedeals and it was only £250 per week each including transfers. Some of reception staff are extremely rude and are not willing to help with anything. We wanted rooms next to each other not 3 floors apart! Following some moaning it was the manager that eventually got us rooms next to each other. The rooms are ok, the bathrooms are decent but the kitchen area was disgusting! The pans were so rusty and old. Luckily we were not planning on making our own meals in the room but if anyone is going to this hotel and expecting a kitchen to cook in, i think you will very dissapointed. We stayed at the hotel for a week and only got our rooms cleaned once (thats also one change of towles too!) and that is despite leaving the door hanger requesting our rooms to be made up!! But they do leave you a mop bucket, sweeping brush etc perhaps to indicate you should do it yourself!! We did go find the maids and got new towels though however some of the maids are relcutant to give you them! If you are a light sleeper be expected to be woke up by the clubbers from 5 – 7am but surely this is expected as you are in ibiza afterall!! The pool area was nice and the staff on the bar are nice. There is a supermarket (The spar) about 10 metres from the hotel entrance and seemed to be open all the time, good if you are on your way in from a night out and you have missed all the takeways! There is quite a few little cafes and restuarants near the hotel. We mainly went to Nu Na ( I think that is what it is called, its a restaurant with a blue pointed roof) The food is very reasonable there and eveything we had was really nice. The easiest way to get to san antonio and the west end is to walk up along the path around the beach. It probably takes about 15 minutes. We also walked to sunset strip (cafe del mar, sovannahs) to watch the sunset and that took about 30 minutes to walk. If you are planning on watching the sunset, I would get there no earlier than 8pm. If you are wanting a cheap holiday and are not bothered about using the kitchen then I do not think you will be dissapointed with the hotel at all.
Excellent hotel for the money!!
me and my partner stayed at the Ibiza Mar from 21 - 25 May 2007 and had a wonderful stay. The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and the location is walking distance from all bars and restaurants. The main stip of bars is about a 15 min walk. We will definately go back next year - although beware that the 18-30 style holidays begin early June in the hotel (preparations were being made on our departure). Overall a lovely clean, quiet hotel!!
hated every minute of it
The day before our group of 11 people should have arrived in Ibiza at The Hotel Bahia. The hotel had over booked and relocated us to the Ibiza Mar. On arrival at 3am we were greeted with a very rude receptionist who was adamant that there were no rooms for us to stay in. We argued the fact of the relocation by the Hotel Bahia. After 1hr of heated debating, surprisingly, the receptionist managed to locate 5 rooms that were booked in our parties names. To describe the staff of the hotel as unhelpful and very rude is an understatement. The cleanliness of the hotel was shocking. There were stains and hair all over the floor the bedding had cigarette burns in it and there was no toilet roll of which we had to go and buy ourselves at 4am. On the third day of our stay we had to asked two different people, one being the manageress for a cleaner to clean the room and change bedding and towels, the cleaners never came. We were told that we had to request a cleaner for the room and even after requesting a cleaner four times they still did not come. We demanded clean towels at reception where we collected them along with a brush, mop and bucket to clean the room ourselves. A cleaner again was requested for the fourth day, the cleaners again did not come. On the fifth day the cleaners knocked gave us towels and walked away. We had to ask for clean bedding and make the beds ourselves. The used bedding and towels were then left in the hallway by ourselves for them to collect as no attempt was made for the cleaners to remove the used towels and bedding.
Good Overall!!
Visited Ibiza Mar Sept 06 for a week with the Girls, upon arriving at Ibiza Mar we were told our booking wasn't until the following day even though our trvale documents clearly said the correct day. however we were given a room key and told to fix it at reception the next mornig. We eventually ahd to pay for an extra night. the rooms and apartments in general were nice, good for Ibiza! bathrooms are all slate tiles and quite large. The room was spotless when we checked in but then we never saw the maid for the rest of the week. Pool area is nice enough, pool could do with a clean. Staff aren't the best it has to be said!! They speak half decent english but do not seem to like talking to english speaking people!! Overall a good holiday!! Location is also handy for San An as it is far enough out not to be noisy at night but not too far to walk (about 10 mins or 6$ in a taxi). Supermarket nearby is excellent! I would stay here again!!
Good hotel ruined by the Staff
Whilst the apartments are a good standard and clean and the location is good, i'm afraid the staff completely spoilt it all. The manager inparticular wasnt interested in customer service and was very rude and unhelpful with an attitude problem. Other staff including bar and reception simply couldnt be bothered, the bar shut at 11pm on Saturday night as he "wanted an early get away". We asked to extend our room for a late departure for 30 euro and were told "yes no problem" and "no hurry for payment" Only to be rang and woken up the next morning saying we had to check out in 15 minutes or the police would be called - this happened to six peoples rooms on the same day not just us! Get new staff and we would return, otherwise no chance!
LOVED THE HOTEL AND STAFF
when i got there i wasnt happy as the hotel entrance is between shops and bars and thought it would be very noisy. How wrong i was in the whole fornight we were hardly disturbed, only holiday makers coming in and leaving at all unearthly hours, but thats understandable. The rooms were lovely and we only stayed in a studio, there were four of us in the room and although we would have loved a seperate bedroom, but for what we paid or the holiday we were impressed. The rooms were cleaned twice a week, the staff were very friendly especially the receptionists. The bar staff were mainly english and would tell you the cheapest and easiest places to get too, rather than paying the rep prices.Dont bother with the Hippy Market though (recommended by the rep)its not worth the trip.Definately go on the champayne diving boats that leave from the Harbour at san antonio town all day (a lot cheaper than the rep organised ones). If your a family/couple going try the Ca'fe Royal just a short stroll away and be entertained by a lovely liverpuddlian called Jackie, she is just a bag of fun and really made the holiday. They also have some fantasic acts on too.Overall a great holiday and we would go back again,to say i wasnt keen on the place when i got there as we dont normally book this sort of holiday, the buzz of san antonio just sucks you into the atmosphere of it all.Although we went in May,they say June,July and August is heaving with clubbers. As a family im glad we went when we did as it was certainly lively enough for us,without being over the top.Eating out was very reasonable too just in front of the hotel are some great eating places.
ok
hi i went the with my b/f 5year old daughter and my 15 year old brother i found the manager very rude the staff were great always helpfull we had trouble 1 night with a group of boys the manager thought it was us when he was expect to what happen by any english spoken staff he said if they dont like it there is the door we left 3 days early as it got so bad in the hotel we couldnt take anymore we were there as a family for a nice holiday my daughter was getting woken up 3 or 4 time with the noise of young people having xxx on the sunbeds will deffo not go back there
hated it
went to ibiza mar in june last year and would not recommend it. Our patio doors would not lock for the biggest part of the holiday and it took 4 days to get it sorted and even then it was the thomas cook rep who sorted it as the hotel were waiting for maintenance to get round to it. Went on a Thomas cook trip to hippy market and the coach left early without us, leaving us stranded. Oh and don't use the phone in the room to call the uk despite it saying in the hotel brochure that its the same price as a local phone kiosk its actually much higher. We had a terrible shock when we got the bill £50 for 30 mins of calls. We didn't actually book this hotel ourselves we got put there after the hotel we had booked to go in was closed for maintenance two days before we arrived. Staff were very patronising and unhelpful. Miles the rep tried to help as much he could but his management team and the other reps were much less helpful.
ok
all i have to say is the bar man took our stuff then said to the manager he didnt talk to us and he didnt speak english, watch your stuff because even the bar staff will take it.
Ibiza Mar info
Hi everyone, I just got bk from staying at the Ibiza Mar and have to say it is excellent. I would definitely recommend it. Me and 2 mates stayed in one of the apartments (we are girls aged 22, 20 and 19) and we had such a good time. It has good air con which is obviously a blessing! The pool and bar bit were great too and the rooms were a good design so you can get away with 4 people staying in each apartment. We were worried that it would be too family orientated but it isn't. There were 2 families staying in the whole hotel and they clearly didnt mind the raucous of everyone else and you hardly noticed them. It is truly 30 metres from the beach and only a 10/15 min walk down to Bar M, Es Paradis etc. There are shops just outside (one is a supermarket which is practically open 24hrs a day- excellent for the early morning munchies and hangover water trips!) We liked it so much that we are already planning on going bk there next year because it is brilliant all round. We went through Thomas cook Sunset holidays who were really good and arranged some great pre parties to the clubs etc. The first week of July is also a great week to go cos all the superclubs have their opening parties- amazing! If you stay here you will have a great time! Olivia
