I stayed in ibiza mar with 3 other girls, all of us were 17 or 18. had the best time ever there, it was amazing. the apartments were compact, but we didnt mind atall as we didnt plan on staying in our rooms much! they were clean and basic, which is all we needed. the bathroom was really nice,i think they must have been done out recently because they were really modern and nice -good powerful shower! the kitchenette was tiny, but its all we needed as we didnt plan on cooking much food!
the layout of the apartments was really good to make friends, people were friendly, as we were all around the same age, and people are just there to have fun. we didnt see any violence or anything in the apartments, everyone was really friendly.
the staff could be quite grumpy and abrupt, but they did help us with lost keys many times. i could understand their grumpyness though, being surrounded by drunken party people at all hours isnt exactly relaxing! we didnt find any major problems with them.
the pool was great, the music all day gave a proper good atmosphere and really got you in the mood to party in the night! nearby supermarket was good aswell to top up on drink supplies, and for a fix of supernoodles on our return from a night out :)
met some really great people there and would definitely recommend ibizamar to anybody 18 - 30.really not suitable for families though!
overall, these apartments really topped off our holiday and made it perfect! already looking to book up again next year as it was amazing.

Myself and my family have just returned from a fortnights holiday in San Antonio Bay where we stayed rather unfortunately at the Ibiza Mar. After reading many mixed reviews about this hotel we were rather apprehensive when we arrived there and how right we were. This hotel is full of all male or female parties and is definetely not for families. We had to go to the beach everyday as there were never any sunbeds as they were taken up by the young parties who were all fooling about which put you off from going in the pool. Good job the beach is nearby. The hotel is really basic the dining room was never open for the whole two weeks you had to hire a kettle and toaster which were expensive any other self catering apartment usually provide these free of charge. The rooms were only cleaned upon request and you also had to ask when you required clean towels. The air conditioning is appalling and we all suffered terrible sore throats and headaches but after reading a previous review about the diesel leaking in the basement that explains it! It is impossible to sleep all night as you are constantly woken up with girls screaming and running up and down the corridors at 4,5,6, oclock in the morning.Apart from one of the reception staff ( female) they were most unhelpful. We were told by another couple who had been there before that it used to be a good hotel but now it only targets the youngsters. These are definetely the worst apartments we have ever stayed in and would not even recommend it to the youngsters as the security is appalling. We also had some cigarrettes robbed from our case after we had packed. San Antonio is a brilliant place and the nightlife is amazing would definetly go back sometime but never to Ibiza Mar. Be warned dont be fooled by the people that give it a good review it is an awful place to stay!!!!!

we stayed in ibiza for a week and were very pleased with the accomodation. the only negative point we have to give is that one of the maids took our door key robbed 400 euros from us when we were out! she would always wander round the room pretending to clean but never actually did any work apart from once. there was four of us staying and we were a bit scared after reading bad reviews, but we had no problems at all and the hotel was clean and the staff were reasonably pleasant. the hotel is located right by spar and the burger house along with many other shops just down the street, which was very handy. a couple of mornings we went to libertys for a full english breakfast for 5 euros including a drink, defintely recommend it! there is also a chineese next door to libertys for a full course meal including starter, main course and drink which was delicious. the main strip is about 20 mins walk away, but didnt feel long when you had a bit to drink and we were always meeting and seeing things along the way. look out for linikers bar, it was our local, staff are so friendly and will give you good deals on drinks, soo go there!! amnesia and privalage are quite far away from the hotel but a cheap taxi ride for 15 euros got us there. there is a beach just outdside the hotel which we went to one day, however spent most of our time by the pool as the atmosphere was always relaxing but fun at the same time. music was played throughout the day which was good and you could have a laugh with the freinds you made includind our rep liam BIG SHOUT OUT! i wouldnt say this hotel is for families although there was a few there who enjoyed themsleves, but it is mainly took up by 17 onwards! (although we were the only 17 year olds there) overall u shud defintely stay here as it was in a good location and we had an amazing week!

We have just returned form our hol of 7 people, 4A & 3CH (5 9 12). We go to Ibiza every year and know what to expect we read the reviews & thought it just sounded basic. We arrived 1am only to find 3 flights of stairs & 7 cases!! A few lads did help us in the end cheers to them. Reception was quiet the guy spoke good English & was ok but miserable. Up to 1st floor only to be greeted with a gang of young men running up & down naked & banging on doors.

We put our cases in, the room looked ok on arrival & in the early hours so off we went to a bar. We were in Ibiza & we did not want anything to spoil it!!...

We were woken during the night about 4 5 then 6 with noise from gangs of excited girls running up & down the corridor screaming, then at 9am the pool music! Ahh it was full blast was no escape but to leave.

The pool view was nice though & very sunny we had two rooms next door to each other so it was nice peeping round the balcony & chatting, the room was open plan which is good for families would not recommend for couples sharing as no privacy.

The tiny kitchen in daylight was filthy we had to wash everything the table looked as if it had not been cleaned ever, our fridge worked but our families next door did not and it took them a week of complaining before they got another, that even evolved trailing around trashed empty rooms to find 1 that actually worked and then carrying it back ourselves.

Our 1st day was good beach was lovely and very hot and food was nice, sun beds & umbrellas were 6€ each (all other beaches 5€) we had a good 1st night out a few bars then the bucanero & late in the rodeo bar with our girls. We came into our rooms only to find that you could not breath for the smell of Diesel we went to reception to complain along with every other guest, we were fobbed off & told that there was nothing to worry about they had been a small spill nearby & to all return to our rooms & just keep the doors open for ventilation. After a while we returned & the smell was unbearable even on the balcony the smell was present but the room seemed worse this was now well after 4am & we were gathered on the balcony.

Then there was banging on the door I opened it to all the other guests running down the corridor saying that it was dangerous & that we had to evacuate the hotel. We grabbed a few things gathered the kids up & went outside it was mental, there was a gang of lads who were all fireman form England arguing with staff saying that it was far to dangerous & the hotel had to be evacuated staff were disagreeing & telling people to go back inside it was mad. There was nowhere to go or sit we settled the girls on sun beds by the pool with a few covers they were crying & frightened by now the manager of the hotel was called & he just came very angry & started excluding people from the hotel he eventually told us that is we did not go back to our room immediately we would have to leave instead. We eventually returned to our room by this time it was after 6am, 1 of the 2 rooms smelt less than the other so the 7 of us bunked down with the doors left open all night. The smell continued for a week I complained everyday only 1 room ended up with a very strong smell every time the air con was switched on. The girls all slept next door we stayed & slept with the door open all night waking @ 9am to the loud music and The SAME cd every day. After a week we eventually moved to a room on the 3rd floor with a view of trees and litter but it was quieter & it did not smell……..we packed we moved bliss.

When we came home from the night out our room smelt of diesel : - ( the oven did not work and the room was over run with ants. I give up we tried to put up with it, sheets were only changed once and the towels twice & when they did change them they only left enough for 2 people in each room AHH

The manager eventually showed me the reason for the smell, in the basement there was a large tank of diesel which is used to heat the hot water 1 of the pipes had burst causing a big spill he thought that it was nothing to worry about as I was paddling in the spill on the floor!! The air conditioning unit was right near the spill & causing the fumes to leak into the rooms through the air con, He told me you now stop worrying!

Our travel agent should never ever have given us the hotel it is a “twenty’s” hotel Thank god for the sun. I will return to Ibiza again next year but I will never return to Ibiza Mar

Just got back from a week long stay at the Ibiza Mar apartments in Ibiza. The hotel was amazing, alot better then what i was expecting after reading some of the reviews on this website! Arrived at about 2am on the saturday morning and was greeted by friendly and helpful staff behind the recption desk. They were happy to help us with any queries and welcomed us to the resort. The rooms were well presented and very clean with fresh sheets and toilet rolls replaced every other day which was fine for us. The kitchen had grocery and utensils in which was helpful for when we wanted to eat in. The hotel was well presented from the outside and the pool was regualrly cleaned and looked after. There was some noise of an evening and in the early hours of the morning from a few ignorant guests but they were soon sorted out by the hotel security staff.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us too. We were only 3 or 4 minutes away from the nearest man-made beach which was gorgeous and was a really treat to have just on our door step. There were rows of shops and restaurants and bars all along our strip and the main 'west end' part of the town was about a 20 minute walk away. We visited some of the big clubs which were a cheap taxi ride away and just a 15 minute walk from the hotle enabled us to get the best view on the island of the sunset each night.

We didn't have an actual rep from Thomas Cook as we didnt book under a package deal, but one of the Thomas Cook reps did give us a welcome talk and helped us to plan the activities of our week. However, he did say he was doing us a favour by selling us cheap club tickets for all the big clubs, but turns out they were exactly the same prices that the actual clubs were selling anyway! Think he just wanted the commission to be honest, but never mind.

Overall, we were really happy with the accomodation and location of Ibiza Mar. Defo will go there again! :)

I came here with 8 girls, all aged 18, sharing two rooms between us.

There was nobody staying in the hotel who was over the age of around 25 or under the age of 17. Definatly not a place to stay with kids or as a couple. Everyone was there for one thing - to party. Therefore it was easy to meet new people, and make friends.

The rooms weren't that great. There were two proper beds which were quite comfortable but then the two sofa beds were seriously uncomfortable! There was no black out curtain, allowing the sun to wake you up early, thats if the blaring pool music hadn't already woken you. The tiny self catering kitchen was disgusting. We had to wash all the ustensils, food was stuck to a lot of it and the drawers were lined with crumbs. The hob took ages to heat water and everytime you touched the work surface you would get an electric shock when the hob was on! The bathroom was the best part of the room, apart from the fact the door had no lock and I swear the handle nearly fell off. The balcony was nice looking out over the pool.

The pool was a nice size, but you have to get down early to get a place. It was swamped with guys jumping in and inflatables. You can't take any food or drink from outside the hotel by the pool, if you do the staff are quite unpleasant and make you take it away.

The beach was a two minute walk away, it was a nice but the sea was FULL of jellyfish - two of us got stung. The walk into San Antonio was about 20 minutes along the seafront. Quite a long walk, but nice - although we did end up getting a taxi there a few times (around 6 euros).

There wasn't many nice restaurants in the area at all. The only good thing was the clubs and bars.

The staff were unfriendly and not helpful at all. I had a couple of rude encounters with them. Also the maids clean around you as your asleep in the mornings.

But to be honest, the holiday was fun - just expect to be very tired all the time. We all came back ill and glued to our beds for a week.

The cafe Royale about a ten minute walk was great entertainment for the night. The restaurants were all lovely and there was a wide selection of differerent food. we also went to playa den bossa to the water park that was about an hour away it was a lovely day out especially for the children and the adults. we also walked to San Antonio around the bay that was a half an hour walk the view was beautiful. It as our first family holiday abroad and we all thouroughly enjoyed it. I would say it is for any age. Jane Martin Chester

I was a member of the young family Mrs J Mills was refering to in the previous review.

When we arrvied to the hotel we was greeted by two flights of steps to get into reception and the only way to overcome these was to walk around the block to find a ramp which wasn't always easy with suitcases in tow.

The reception staff were lovely and always happy to help, shame i can't say the same about the maid service. We arrived on a friday and my linen didnt get changed until the following saturday and when staying with a 6 month old baby i found this disgusting, good job i took my own spare linen. The towels got changed twice in two days and the maids were anything but approachable. The hotel explained that the cleaning contract was nothing to do with them.

As i had a young baby I decided to hire out a baby walker which i never placed my child in because it was filthy... and crammed with old food. What a waste of 20 Euros.

The first week or so was pleasant. The rooms were clean upon arrival and the bathrooms were clean and impressive. Then the fun began i was woke up constantly from 4am and on the last night i had a young girl banging on my door at 1am because she was terrified as she had taken drugs and left her friends.. what a nice end to my first family holiday.

Other than that, the poolbar was overpriced, the baby pool was over-run by smoking youngsters and there was no entertainment for families until 12am in the morning!!

We all decided to regroup on the beach and had a lovely few last days to our holiday away from the hotel.

If anyone is thinking of using this hotel with children...don't! go further into the bay its lovely.

But we were in for a pleasant surprise, the place was great, no noise, lovely staff, clean and welcoming. Would recommend it to anybody seeking a nice holiday, was one of our better ones. Will be adding it to" our return to" list.

Not a bad hotel - quite good basic accommodation, well located close to the beach and near to the bars and restaurants. We went with a young family and although this hotel was advertised as suitable for families , it was completely over run with young lads and girls partying all day and night. The first 6 days of the holiday weren't too bad then the yobs arrived and spoilt the rest of the holiday with their loutish, disruptive, drunken behaviour. My kids didn't get to go in the tots swimming pool as the yobs took over the baby pool!!!!!

Ibiza was the best/craziest holiday i'v been on, absolutly amazin! Ibizamar apartments are awesome..dont know why some people have put bad reviews on it! Dont stay here unless your between 18-24ish though! Ideally for the young looking for a lively holiday! Its about a 15 minute walk to the west end just across the bay which isnt to bad, just take a few drinks for the walk! Loud music playing by the pool all day, great atmosphere! Balconey's a great size, try and get a pool view if you can! There's a 24 hour supermarket aswell which is good and a burger house next to it, thats mostly where we ate!

Space on sundays is just a different experience, its about 50 euro's but well worth it! Mannumission is amazin aswell, the shows they put on are unbelievable, thats about 40 euro's but again you have to go! we went zoo project which is top, always things to do..just get steamin! then end the night at eden after that!

Hope this helps, you'l have an amazin time wherever you stay!

This was the best holiday ever for us!! It had everything we needed. A good sized pool, the beach just down the road, fun people and a good sized room! Everyone who we talked to on our holiday said that the room wasnt fantastic but the bathroom was great! The town was about a half and hour walk away but was fine if you had a few drinks before you go! The 24 hour supermarket was good to come back to after a night out! The security guards were friendly and did keep some noise down but definatly a party appartment block! The way the rooms were positioned meant that everyone could talk to eachother which made it easy to make friends.

I was in a group of 4 girls and really enjoyed meeting new people especially the boys below us who we met on the first night who were on our flight home!

All this 'crime' that has been descibed didnt bother us as there was a safe. We got annoyed with paying a 50 euro deposit and paying for the safe but got it all back at the end.

Would recommend this place to anyone over the age of 18 but not for families at all!!

I dont know why people put this place down! So annoying. This place is not for anyone who does not want to party... I have just got back from the Ibizamar with a group of 15 aged 18-22... and... We F*****g loved it! the hotel is very nice.. there is a problem with ants on your balcony, but that is as far as problems go...

The resort its in great, literally a stone throw to the beach and 15 minute walk to eden and es paradis, with a 20-25 minute walk into the west end...

Our rep was there quite alot offering us excursions.... and other deals... People go on a booze cruise.. it has to be done!(AMAZING) Twentys rep Chris Lyons is a legend!

Hope this review is helpful.....

Well there was four of us that came and we was all sharing one room, which i can honestly say wasnt a good idea. There is just enough room but there is no privacy for anyone we didnt even have a lock on the bathroom door, and there was no door to the bedroom. The weather was great. The staff around the hotel were generally quite happy but the man on reception at night can be very grumpy. We flew with first choice and had delays on the way there and back. I would say that this is a good place to stay if you are a group or even a couple as we found coming here a great experience. If you come to ibiza your not in for a chilled out holiday as there are PR's approaching you all day and every two metres when walking along the front. West end is the cheapest place to go for drinks to get lashed before heading to the clubs. The places that i advise everyone to go too is Pukka up on Monday nights it is a booze cruise then free entry to es paradis well worth the money everyone had a great time. Eden on judgement sunday with judge joules was a wicked night. There is a boat that is along the front opposite the bar Plastique which is called the blade runner and this is such a boat and everyone should do this. All in all this was a great holiday and i would recommend this to anyone who is up for clubbing and getting lashed every single night as there is no such thing as a quiet one. And the last thing that i would recommend is to take alot of money as everything is very expensive.
