Passo Tonale is a nice place to visit, the scenery is lovely and the ski slopes are well maintained, although we found them to be geared more the the beginners and advanced.
The main problem we had was the meal portions at our hotel were appalling, we often left the dinning room feeling hungry and we went out for meals 3 times during the week to get something substantial to eat.
We also found the locals to be very rude and un welcoming.
We had one of our meals at the pizzeria in the Hotel La Torretta and came face to face with the rudest woman i have ever met. When ordering our meal for 7 people she actually spoke italian to the other waiters which was obviously a derogitory comment. The food came out in dribs and drabs so half of our table had finished eating and the others hadn't even started. I would recommend you never visit this pizzeria especially if your english!
Our holiday overall was nice, but that was mainly down to our Friends that went with us. I doubt we would visit Italy again.

We stayed at La Torretta with our 3 children for a week beginning 2nd February. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were of good size. My two boys shared a room and my daughter slept on a single bed settee in our room. The rooms were nicely decorated, but at times too warm. Breakfast was continental and perfectly adequate for our needs. Dinner consisted of salad, a soup or pasta, then a main course (meat and fried potato) and a dessert. The food was generally good, although there was no menu for fussy children. The gala dinner on Thursday was excellent and enjoyed by all. The staff were very pleasant and always keen to please. We dined most lunch times in the pizzeria adjoining the hotel. Great pizzas and great value for money. The location of the hotel is excellent, being a 5 minute walk, at most, to the slopes and centrally located for all other shops and bars. There are a number of bars in Passe Tonale, but this resort would not be renowned for it's apres ski, which suited us fine, having children with us. Passe Tonale is a great skiing resort for beginners and intermediates. Fantastic wide pistes and a great selection of blue and red runs. We had plenty of snow and the weather was sunny for 5 out of the 6 days skiing. We would not hesitate in returning to this hotel and resort in the future.
