" Hideous Hotel "
Submitted By: sylvaFood - chicken curry with artichokes - you judge!
Pool - Closed 50% of visit - tiles missing and unpleasant smell
Bill - the drinks were listed to your table without signature, at the end of the week the bill for us and the other 5 couples we knew were way out - up to 60 Euros. We tried on 5 occasons to get them to correct, but they failed to take any action. On the day of check out they threatened to call the police if our friends did bot pay the inflated bill (with no signatures)
Access - slopes are accesses thro reception, 50M accross car park and up 4 flights of stairs - no idea why.
Noise - extensice building work, noisy neighbours and barking dogs meant sleep was a luxury
Advice: Great resort stay somewhere else
Activities: El bait

" Excellent location right on the... "
Submitted By: Mr MA GunnFood excellent for meat eaters, though not so good for vegetarians. Though there is
an excellent hot and cold buffet, so always something to eat.
The room was attractive, though a little on the small side for 3, and could have been a bit cleaner.
The spa was excellent as long as you don't mind sharing it with naked Germans.
The kids club was a big plus for us, though Italian standards of child care leave a little to be desired. They had a darts board for toddlers to play with!!!
It would have been an ideal hotel were it not for the swimming pool. Which although beautiful, was cloudy, and the water didn't smell too fresh. There is no doubt in our mind it gave our son a nasty ear infection that resulted in a trip to hospital when we got home.
Other guests advised that this had gone downhill since it was opened a few years ago. Which is a shame because it could be the perfect ski hotel if only it was more hygenic.

Submitted By: Mr G PITMANWE FOUND THE HOTEL TO BE VERY WELL RUN, WARM AND VERY FRIENDLY. WE HAD A GOOD RAPPORT WITH OUR WINE WAITER WHO WAS MORE THAN HELPFUL WITH OUR PRONUNCIATIONS.
YES YOU DO HAVE TO PAY 50 EUROS WHEN YOU GET THERE BUT IT IS ONLY A DEPOSIT YOU GET IT BACK PROVIDED THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO ROOM.
FOOD WAS EXCELLENT TO MUCH CHOICE. WE WERE THERE OVER EASTER AND A HUGE 1 METRE CHOCOLATE EGG WAS ON SHOW, IT WAS SMASHED UP AFTER AND EVERY ONE HELPED THEMSELVES
WILL BE GOING BACK!!

" Booked this 4 Star Hotel by the lifts... "
Submitted By: Mr M FlemingStaff extremely rude and a club 18-30 type atmosphere. Ok, if you want all night party but not for us with 4 kids and granny in tow. Kids club non-existent although advertised and the beds a little more than hard bunks. Carpets in Bedroom smelt and you must pay a deposit of €50 to use the pool.
Got punched in the face on New Years Eve by member of the kids club staff when I asked him to stop, after he took off his drag queen dress and simulating oral sex with his boyfriend, immediately in front of our table of four young children & granny.
Reported the incidence to the management/owner who did not care about his staff exposing themselves to children. This hotel is NOT at all suitable for children.

" Fab hotel right on the slope next to... "
Submitted By: Miss S MaddrellFood was great, so much of it. We had a "Local" food night and a Gala dinner with gifts of boxed bottles of Grappa put on the table (I know, who drinks it, but it was a nice touch!).
The hotel was spotlessly clean and rooms had plenty of wardrobe and storage space and safes.
We found that most of the staff were Romanian and when you took the trouble to talk to them, were delightful. Very chatty and helpful.
The Pool was cold and so was the Jacuzzi which was a shame as it was a lovely area.
Our group of 9 would all highly recommend it. We will certainly go back.

Submitted By: Mr P GriffinSwimming pool cold, were asked to pay €50 extra per person to use this even though we understood it was included in price. Staff here also very rude and unhelpful.
Hotel needs repairs, door to one of rooms broken took 3 hours to fix and gave trouble all holiday. Very noisy other guests.
Ski School classed very large. Food good.
Overall we had a good time as skiing was great. But will not go back to this resort. Have been to Livigno and Wengen which were brilliant.

We found the hotel good value, clean and the restaurant was excellent - extensive choice of starter buffet followed by 2 hot courses chosen from menu then large selection from dessert buffet. Good wine list choices. Bar bill at the end of week was surprisingly low as well.
Yes - you pay a cash deposit of 50 Euros per room which is returned on departure when you return all keys - I don't have a problem with this (most hotels take a swipe of your credit card on arrival - I am just as happy to leave a cash deposit)
Facilities were excellent - one ski locker per room which dried out equipment overnight - good bar for coffee, hot chocolate, bombardinos, beer, etc open all day.
Location of hotel in Passo Tonale is very good - Hotel is on the edge of the village (500m from ski school) which I was worried about but has a chairlift 50m from door and from the top of this you can ski down to ski school and the village centre, and a free ski bus frequently passes the hotel and stops on demand.
You can ski to within 25m of front door down a ski ramp and carefully climb up it (or flight of stairs) to the slopes & lifts.
Just above the hotel a long easy blue run starts which ends up at Ponte Di Legno - this is an ideal run to warm up & warm down at the start/end of the day - stop at the first gondola station for a 5 minute gondola ride back. There is another long easy blue run at the other end of the village, several other blues in between, many excellent reds and the Paradiso black run.
Would go back to this hotel
Advice: Good for beginners & intermediates - all facilities & runs are easily accessed & central to village
